This latest rebuild has worked. 91 points last season. They have a core group of players 25 or younger who are very good. They still need to improve the defense and there is no reason to think they won't in FA/draft. I don’t. I’m a football/Bills fan 1st and foremost. My hockey knowledge started when I heard we were getting a team 10 years ago, so I started following the Sabres to help me get up to speed with the game. I got really excited when I knew they would draft either McDavid or Eichel… the players you listed though, is like listing Kyle Williams, Mario Williams, Scott Chandler, Fred Jackson, and Eric Wood…. Rookies almost never play. They start in the minors and take 2-3 years to get to the big club. Trades and free agents are part of the process but you have to build your team through the draft first.
