An entry not sung in English: Udo Lindenberg (artist) - Andrea Doria (song)

In the German music scene of the late 1960s/early 1970s, we had the traditional "Schlager" (trivial pop in German), "Krautrock" (mostly experimental and often electronic-based), and some "Liedermacher" (songwriters; songs were folk-like, often funny and with a social comment).  Lindenberg (who had been a jazz drummer; one of his bands had actually been called "Niagara") started something new, a more mainstream rock/pop approach, sung in German. The "Andrea Doria" in the linked song is actually an Italian luxury cruiser, named after a 16th century Genoese admiral, that sank in 1956. Thus, the complete title "All clear on the Andrea Doria" is ironic. The song also contains a line like "we celebrate Paula's birthday today and hope that she will ever get as old as she is looking already now".

To follow up on the German theme: Juliane Werding (artist) - Am Tag als Conny Kramer starb (The day that Conny Kramer died)

Well, they took the melody from "The night they drove old dixie down" and converted it into a German anti-drug song, which would be a good thing if the German lyrics were not so embarrassingly inane: "The day that Conny Kramer died, it was a difficult day." Well, who would have thought so? Did you expect it to be easy?

Heard a lot of that song as ambient background soundtrack at Dollywood couple weeks ago w/ the family on Spring Break LOL—in an aside saw good number of fellow Bills brethren/gals while there too.

Completely off topic but I'm vacationing in that area this summer so if you have any tips on things to do or to avoid I'd appreciate it - feel free to PM.

Been to pigeon forge a few times.  Dollywood itself is excellent.  Great roller coasters, nice shows, food only ok.  The bird sanctuary with rescued birds of prey is amazing.  I could spend hours there.  not many places you can see these wild beautiful birds in numbers.  It's near the roller coaster named after an eagle?  can't recall.  Cherokee NC isn't far and if you're into casinos and such is actually a pretty little town.. Indian rez- nice trout fishing but kinda commercial- pay to play-  tailwaters below Holston dam is some of the best trout fishing in the Eastern US.  Guides in Colorado boats available ...but it's about 1.5 hours away.   One of the best things I remember there is horseback riding.  I think they have at least 2 stables nearby in pretty areas.  Driving up the mountains to cades cove is great but can be very crowded.  good chance youll see a bear or two.  Knoxville can be a lot of fun.  check out a bluegrass or newgrass bar downtown.  Mast store is cool.  Have fun!  Oh, for food it's not great.  I think they have a Cheddars which is a small chain but good hearty food in big portions at fair prices.  What's not to like?  One more thing, very nice triple A (?AA) baseball park just off 40 at Pigeon ford exit.  Can't vouch for the team
