All these commie libs will believe anything the tv tells them. Not me! I only believe what the internet tells me!

That’s why I believe that sleepy Joe Biden, who has dementia, outsmarted all of the true patriots to steal the 2020 election. If it wasn’t him, it was Kamala Harris, who I also believe to be an idiot, who orchestrated an election coup that geniuses like me were unable to prevent. If not either of them, it was probably a broad combo of (((globalists))) and deep staters lead by (((Soros))) who did it.

Also, Facebook tells me that vaccines cause autism and/or kill you, and COVID is the same as the flu and also the 2022 election was somehow stolen too, despite my team taking the House and forever ending the Speakership of Nancy Pelosi. I may have forgotten to vote due to the effects of ivermectin so I might be misremembering that.

Actually, any election that doesn’t go my way is stolen, because nobody that me (a guy who spends much of his time decrying the crimes of Hunter Biden and drives around on a truck with Trump 2024 stickers on it) knows has admitted that they would vote for a democrat. Therefore, democrats don’t exist and any election they win is obviously fraudulent.

Who is “the big guy!? Is it Joe? Or Hunter’s penis?”

Also, it is certain that a guy who was the son of a rich guy and illegally gained his father’s wealth through fraud and then somehow managed to lose all of that on casinos and also lost everything a couple times over is actually a business genius because he has a fun catchphrase on his tv show and he ***** in a gold toilet. Him being bad at business and taxes means that he’s actually good at business and taxes. This guy must certainly be someone who speaks for the working class people and if anyone challenges him it’s because this super rich buffoon (and friend of the Clintons and Jeffrey Epstein) who brags about screwing over the little guy, is actually fighting for the little guys like me.

As a very smart graduate of Trump University, I was an early investor in Trump Steaks, Trump’s Castle, Trump Vodka, Trump Airlines, Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Ice, Trump’s Plaza Casino, Trump Magazine, and I have multiple Trump trading card NFTs. If you criticize the current state of these industries it’s only because you’re jealous that you couldn’t bankrupt as many companies as my idol can. Next time, I’m gonna strike it rich just like I know he is because he only won’t show us his taxes because it’s totally embarrassing how rich he is.

I have a very high IQ. A website I paid money to told me so.

That's pretty good.  But what you're describing is a caricature.  Indulge me to produce one of my own.

Of smug and conceited coastal dwelling liberals who look down on working people and anyone that questions the authority they provide and support.  They believe what you describe is representative of the opposition.  Hicks and yokels that exist for the purpose of producing the goods and services that they, the privileged, comfortable, and pampered intellectual class enjoy as they immerse themselves in their superiority.  Leaving others to do the heavy lifting of keeping the lights on which frees them to explore frivolous activities like defining their preferred pronouns.

But the thing is, from my read of things, neither view describes the views of most posters here.  Most of us are closer to the middle on either side rather than along the edges.  It might seem impossible at the moment, but don't be surprised that in the not to distant future you're going to realize you've been rooting for the villain all along rather than the hero in this real-life drama.  And ironically, I suggest the liberal class cannot survive without the red-hat wearing yokels and hicks but the opposite is not true.  Perhaps as the economy and social conditions deteriorate we'll find out.

I think 95%+ of voters do not spend their days thinking or talking about politics. They don’t assume that everyone is motivated by politics and they don’t always vote straight party line. This was especially evident in last month’s midterm elections.

I was listening to a podcast of a focus group a while ago and one of the participants wanted DeSantis as president and AOC as speaker of the house. I think that guy more accurately reflects the average voter than anything you see on PPP.

I have no illusions that the Dems aren’t perfect. The one thing that Dems and Republicans have in common is hating the Democratic Party.

I don’t think that average working Americans are yokels. I think that we could do better for them. I think that policies like nationwide / rural broadband would bring the wealth of the cities to those rural areas. I believe we should move the EPA headquarters to West Virginia to help provide jobs as the nation transitions away from coal. Many of my friends and family are those hard working middle-class / working-class people who get taken from granted. I just don’t pretend that the next time we cut taxes for the wealthy or programs to help people will be the time it finally helps them

move up the ladder.

What I have problems with is people who believe absolute fantasies like the idea that the 2020 election was stolen, or there is a uniparty that controls everything, or that Hillary Clinton is killing people, or that everyone everywhere acts through political motivations, or that a NYC elitist conman cares about working class Americans, or that the only reason things don’t go their way is because of some grand conspiracy. There are a lot of people with brain worms from too much time on the internet who believe utter falsehoods and no matter how many times you disprove it, they either ignore the facts or move the goal posts.

There's no evidence that there were massive irregularities and attempts to rig the 2020 election.

No matter how many times you say it @ChiGoose it will never be true.

Time magazine:  Hey look at this "secret history" of the "shadow campaign" that "saved" the 2020 election.

https://time.com/5936036/secret-2020-election-campaign/

In a way, Trump was right.

There was a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes, one that both curtailed the protests and coordinated the resistance from CEOs. Both surprises were the result of an informal alliance between left-wing activists and business titans. The pact was formalized in a terse, little-noticed joint statement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and AFL-CIO published on Election Day. Both sides would come to see it as a sort of implicit bargain–inspired by the summer’s massive, sometimes destructive racial-justice protests–in which the forces of labor came together with the forces of capital to keep the peace and oppose Trump’s assault on democracy.

Their work touched every aspect of the election. They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding. They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time.

This is the inside story of the conspiracy to save the 2020 election, based on access to the group’s inner workings, never-before-seen documents and interviews with dozens of those involved from across the political spectrum. It is the story of an unprecedented, creative and determined campaign whose success also reveals how close the nation came to disaster. “Every attempt to interfere with the proper outcome of the election was defeated,”

Oh... so it's the inside story of the conspiracy to gain the "proper outcome" is it?

Hey guys we executed a successful conspiracy so that the "proper outcome" was realized....

WE LITERALLY SAVED DEMOCRACY!!!

Complete and total clown show.

The more you trust the media, the less accurate you are

DAVID STROM  on April 07, 2023

Now this is interesting, if unsurprising.

The other day I wrote about the correlation between political ideology and assumptions about how many unarmed Blacks are killed by police. In it I discussed a study done by the Skeptic Research Center that showed that people who identify as liberal are least likely to guess how many unarmed Black men are killed by police.

Not by a little, but by a lot. Almost none of the liberals guessed in the right range–the number is about 10 a year–and over half guessed that the number was between 1000 to 10,000.

{snip}

The most accurate group was conservatives, with very conservative being the best, and very liberal being the worst. It’s not even close. Liberals have no idea what the truth is, and they believe the very worst to be the case.

Yesterday the organization released more data from their study, in order to explain why that is the case. Their findings were equally interesting because they give a very strong clue regarding what is driving that disparity.

And it’s exactly what you think: the greater the education you have and the higher the trust in the news media the less likely you are to have a grasp of reality.

Education + Trust in MSM=ignorance.

Again, it’s not even close. Education and trust in the MSM are directly correlated with not having a damn clue about the real world. You are better off living in a shack with no internet or TV than having a graduate degree and being a cable news junkie.

You can see the trend right away. The higher the education level the higher the trust in the MSM, which is probably similar to having a lot of trust in “experts” of all kinds. I suspect you could build a graph like this regarding trust in wearing masks as well.

How about the belief that boys can be girls and vice-versa? Same graph, in all likelihood. Groundedness in reality is inversely correlated with education and MSM trust.

None of this should be surprising, of course, although it is exactly counter to what we have been led to believe. We are bombarded by messages that claim that the MSM dispels misinformation, while it is the #1 means by which it is transmitted.

Higher education and trust in the media/expert complex lead you far from reality and into Narrativeland, where up is down and down is up. The more you watch the news and read the paper the more distorted your view of reality. The more professors you have spoken to the less likely you are to have a grasp on basic facts.

Do you question the validity of the statistics or the methodology, or the conclusions of that media study?

Nope.  He/she/they haven't the slightest interest in absorbing any of that and critically thinking about it.

Because he/she/they is /are a commie.

The MSM is not there to report the news, but to build a consensus to “the narrative”…Because the top 2 purveyors of propaganda and disinformation, according to Leftist darling Noam Chomsky, are #1 the government- and #2 the media…👍

The Powerful Media Pretend They Are Powerless

Tim Graham | Apr 07, 2023

It's unintentionally laughable when cable news hosts like Rachel Maddow break in to announce that MSNBC will not be airing any of Donald Trump's post-arraignment speech live because "there's a cost to us as a news organization of knowingly broadcasting untrue things."

These pompous announcements aren't simply about what's true and what's false. They are about how the media elites run our democracy by telling us what happenings we're all supposed to be talking about and what should be shamed out of existence.

Or take, for example, how Washington Post "Fact Checker" Glenn Kessler spit nails that conservatives are talking about George Soros throwing a million dollars at a leftist PAC right after it pledged a million dollars to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, the man now prosecuting Trump. Kessler proclaimed, "The intense focus on Soros is misplaced." To connect factual dots between Soros and Bragg is "incendiary." He's the Focus Checker instead of the Fact Checker.

We're in the earliest days of the 2024 presidential election cycle, and the Democrats and their media allies appear to be attempting to create a rerun of 2016. Devote all your journalistic resources and live coverage to the monstrosity that is Trump. Count on Republicans to jerk their knees and rally around Trump's flag in the desperate hope Republicans lose again, as they have in 2018, 2020, and 2022.

There was a moment in the all-night cable news hootenanny after Trump's court appearance where the pundit collective on CNN was fake-lamenting that Trump is dominating the "news" scene.

{snip}

One of the most annoying things about how the media run our democracy -- and especially our presidential campaigns -- is that these "experts" will tell us who they deem is plausible and who is not plausible long before anyone goes to a poll and votes. They'll take a national poll and then ignore anyone who's not in double digits.

Pardon the audience if none of us buy the idea that the media would like the Republican primaries to be more competitive because that's not what the evidence of media output shows. We've counted 658 minutes just on ABC, CBS, and NBC from the day Trump told everyone he was going to be arrested. Then these people lament that no one else can "breakthrough."

Hi NY Times…tell us you’re not State run news without telling us you’re state run news

Lol - they think Bobby Kennedy “re-litigating” the most significant moment in the history of the planet is a problem.

How dare anyone question what we did!

And LOL “faith” in science.

So science is religion now?  Awesome.

From the response:

“RFK Jr. announced a presidential campaign built on protecting America from future ruinous shutdowns and reaffirming Americans’ faith in science,

which was damaged by government lies and censorship of top scientists during COVID” - fixed it for you.

I can't believe that I have lived long enough where Bobby Kennedy Jr. is outside the Left wing of the Democrat Party.
