‘Merry Insurrectmas!’

CNN is pleased to announce their upcoming January 6 commemorative event (featuring some very special guests!)

More on Insurrection Extravaganza 2022:

The two-hour conversation will include remarks from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, and nine other House members: Democratic Reps. Lisa Blunt Rochester of Delaware, Jason Crow of Colorado, Veronica Escobar of Texas, Ruben Gallego of Arizona, Dan Kildee of Michigan and Susan Wild of Pennsylvania.

Several members of the House select committee investigating the insurrection will also mark the anniversary, with Chair Bennie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, and Vice Chair Liz Cheney, a Wyoming Republican, attending, as well as Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland.

In addition to the lawmakers, some officers who fought to protect the Capitol against the pro-Donald Trump mob will also be at the event, including US Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn and Sgt. Aquilino Gonell, and DC Metropolitan Police Officers Michael Fanone and Daniel Hodges.

And if you’re wondering how you can catch this Very Special Event, you’ve got plenty of options:

“Live from the Capitol: January 6th, One Year Later” will air Thursday, January 6, at 8 p.m. ET on CNN and CNN en Español. The event will also be simulcast on CNN International. It will stream live for subscribers via CNNgo (CNN.com/go and via CNNgo apps for Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, Chromecast, Samsung Smart TV and Android TV) and on the CNN mobile apps for iOS and Android. The event will be available on demand on January 7 via cable/satellite systems, CNNgo platforms and CNN mobile apps.

Perfect.

The Media's January 6th Obsession Is About to Get a Heck of a Lot Weirder

We are still about a week out from January 6th, 2022, but members of the press are already salivating at the opportunity to pump up the supposed “insurrection” that wasn’t earlier this year.

USA Today has already put out a piece lamenting the rise of “domestic terrorism,” plugging the coming “anniversary” as a monumental event. The problem remains that there was precious little domestic terrorism on January 6th. No deadly weapons were used, there was no actual plan, and most of the people that entered the open doors of the Capitol that day were as confused as anyone else.

Did they figure out who the deadly insurrectionist was on the grassy knoll?

Hopefully they’ve got some new revelations for CNNs upcoming 24 hour anniversary celebration… is AOC still hiding under her desk 5 blocks away from the capital?

If you play the Con’s speech backwards at 2x is he saying “storm the building and rummage through Pelosi’s Rolodex?”

I Was Right: My Prediction of How Democrats Would Unveil Their Losing Strategy for 2022 on Jan. 6

By Jeff Charles | Jan 01, 2022

Sometimes my satirical tweets can be pretty prophetic. Last week, as is my wont, I posted a piece of satire claiming the left plans to build a monument commemorating the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S Capitol. While I did not literally believe Democrats would actually erect a physical shrine to the incident – at least not yet – my overall point is that they were most certainly going to use the anniversary of the riot in another attempt to further politicize it.

(snip)

But this is no surprise, is it?

I didn’t exactly need a crystal ball to foresee that the Democrats would be coming up with ways to keep Jan. 6 front and center. This performance is only the opening act of what the Democrats will be showcasing over the next 11 months and beyond.

To be clear, this is not about recognizing what happened at the capitol building last year. This is about the fact that Democrats have dangerously little to run on. It is a naked attempt to minimize the damage to their political aspirations that they brought on themselves last year by failing to pass any meaningful legislation and propping up a geriatric authoritarian in the White House who has not met a crisis he could not bungle.

We can expect more of this as the year progresses and the anti-Trump House Select committee proceeds to conduct its probe. It was apparent late last year that focusing the public’s attention on former President Donald Trump and the riot was going to be the primary – if not only – components of what will inevitably be a losing strategy.

However, we can’t really blame them. After all, what other recourse do they have left?

I sure hope they bring in the military  this week to prevent any recurrence of a symbolic reattempt of the DEADLY INSURRECTION attempt where a few hundred dolts break some windows, take selfies with capital police, put their feet on Pelosi’s desk then go to jail for 20 years.

phew…  soooo close to a coup like the Taliban overtaking Afghanistan.

Don't miss the CNN special on 1/6/22.  Can't miss TV expected to draw almost zero audience in its time slot!  Commemorating the one-year anniversary of the biggest threat to democracy since 25 to 30 Bills fans protested at NFL headquarters after Superbowl 25.

So what do history textbooks in school say about this day.

Almost the new Boston Tea Party.?

Trump leading charge to stop spread of socialism?

Attempted coup?

The creation of a new national holiday?

What will be taught in 2030? Or will it be just an embarrassing footnote like OKC bombing.

It’ll be an embarrassing footnote, that’ll be exploited for decades to come by the Left and their media minions. Can you say…Kwanzaa?

The entire week — month? (year?!) — will be dedicated to the commemoration of last year's January 6th incident.

Get ready.

In the New York Times, the entire editorial board signs on to something titled "Every Day Is Jan. 6 Now."

 https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/01/opinion/january-6-attack-committee.html?smid=url-share

I guess a week/month/year is not enough. January 6th is forever: It's every day from now on. I'm all for examining what really happened and remembering that and going forward in a way that minimizes the chances that people will feel as aggrieved and alienated and that a large gathering can devolve into the chaotic breaking and entering of government buildings. But I'm also wary of the exaggerations, misstatements, and ginning up of grievance and alienation.

I'm saying that having only read the first sentence of the editorial:

One year after from [sic] the smoke and broken glass, the mock gallows and the very real bloodshed of that awful day, it is tempting to look back and imagine that we can, in fact, simply look back.

Actually, I hadn't read the whole first paragraph. I'd stopped at the word "bloodshed." What bloodshed? I search the page for "Ashli Babbitt," because that's the only bloodshed I remember. No mention of Babbitt. I finish the sentence and move on:

To imagine that what happened on Jan. 6, 2021 — a deadly riot at the seat of American government...

A deadly riot? This exaggeration loses me. You had a huge crowd — supposedly crazed, presumably gun owners — and the violence was breaking into the building. I'm willing to count that as bad, but I cannot tolerate the exaggeration.

I will push on:

... incited by a defeated president amid a last-ditch effort to thwart the transfer of power to his successor — was horrifying but that it is in the past and that we as a nation have moved on.

You're accusing us of leaving the story in the past and want us to remember, but you're reminding us with exaggeration — I could say lies. So I cannot accept your telling me what to remember — my information is more accurate than yours — and I'm immune to your incitements about what I ought to be doing about it.

This is an understandable impulse....

You know what's an impulse I understand, an impulse I'll attribute to you, since you're attributing an "impulse" to us? You want to help the Democrats win the elections that are coming up later this year. You have a plan to jack up anger and horror and anxiety and you're going to do it all year long.

... rampant lies and limitless resentments... twisted version of reality... existential threat... openly contemptuous of democracy.... the terror of that day... visible and visceral....

This emotive style leaves me cold.

New polling on January 6 is a MAJOR BUZZKILL to Brian Stelter and many other journos

We regret to inform Brian and many other journalists that the country has moved on:

And there is a large group of voters we suspect who agree with this 100%:

NOW you got him!  Way to go Billsy!

This report purports to report the details of another report and points to future reports.

If the committee has the goods, why do they need reports about reports?  Wouldn’t a really “big deal” just be to turn the evidence over to the DOJ And have all the Trumps arrested?

and correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t the democrats run the reports about reports game a couple times already?
