Quick reminder why Tibs started this thread.

Mr. (adult) Biden was really showing those in the Middle East his strength.

Biden administration was warned Last Month by US diplomats in Kabul of impending Taliban 'catastrophe' if troops withdrew and urged evacuations of All Americans to begin on August 1

by Geoff Earle

State Department officials in the Kabul embassy told the Biden administration last month that the Afghan capital would fall and to speed up evacuations, a new report claims.A dozen diplomats sent a confidential memo in a dissent channel to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on July 13 that the Taliban was rapidly gaining ground and the city was vulnerable to collapse, the Wall Street Journal reported. On July 8, President Biden said it was 'highly unlikely' the Taliban would take control of Afghanistan and denied there would be chaos in Kabul.

British Parliament Unloads On Biden: ‘Biden May Have Condemned The World To Chinese Domination In Future’

Numerous members of the British Parliament slammed President Joe Biden this week in response to the catastrophe the president created in Afghanistan with his disastrous pullout and handling of the situation. The remarks came on Wednesday from members in the House of Lords, which is one of the two chambers in the British Parliament.Members blamed Biden for the situation and shamed him for trying to cast blame on others, including the Afghan military. Many of the members said that America’s image was seriously damaged around the world and the West could suffer greatly in the years to come because nations may no longer trust the West

EVERYTHING IS GOING SWIMMINGLY: Afghan staff at U.S. Embassy losing faith in evacuation efforts, diplomatic cable says.

Staffers reported being jostled, hit, spat on and cursed at by Taliban fighters at checkpoints near the airport, it said, adding that criminals were taking advantage of the chaos while the U.S. military tried to maintain order “in an extremely physical situation.”

Some staff members reported that they were almost separated from their children, while others collapsed in a crush of people and had to be taken to hospitals with injuries, the cable said. Others said they had collapsed on the road because of heat exhaustion, it said.

“It would be better to die under the Taliban’s bullet” than face the crowds again, a staff member was quoted as saying in the cable.

None of this was necessary.

A cautionary note for those who think what is unfolding in Aghanistan is a local problem for the 15,000 Americans and our Afghan allies trapped there, plus a geopolitical humiliation.

A lot has been said about Russia and China taking advantage of this.

Also worth noting however that international jihad was on the ropes, after the destruction of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, with the Taliban stalemated in Afghanistan.

International jihad just had a big win. That is going to have a ripple effect. Or maybe more like a tsunami.

International jihad is back.

Weird, it pretty much disappeared 2017 through 2020.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken won't dispute U.S. has to ask Taliban for PERMISSION to evacuate Americans as he admits 'they are in control of Kabul – that is the reality'

by Katelyn Caralle

Secretary of State Antony Blinken didn't deny on Sunday that the U.S. has to ask the Taliban for permission to get Americans out of Afghanistan as the developing situation in Kabul continues to present obstacles for evacuations.'Someone in our audience might listen to you, Mr. Secretary, and say, 'Oh, so we have to ask the Taliban for permission for American citizens to leave.' True or not true?' CBS News' Face the Nation fill in host Major Garrett asked Blinken of the 'agreement' between the Islamic militant group and Washington.'They are in control of Kabul.

Joey's screwed.  Either he leaves Americans stranded there or he goes in guns blazing and restarts the conflict.  All because he wanted troops out by 9/11 and (reportedly) didn't want more weapons flying into Bagram past July 4th (as if he didn't have the authority to stop the shipments).

Britain loses patience with Sleepy Joe: Tony Blair brands Biden’s decision to quit Afghanistan ‘imbecilic’

amid claims Boris remarked 'we would be better off with Trump'

Tony Blair has blasted Joe Biden's 'imbecilic' decision to withdraw US troops from Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, calling the President's scuttle 'tragic, dangerous and unnecessary' and claiming the move had 'every Jihadist group round the world cheering'.

The Lessons of Afghanistan

By Steve Baldwin

What is occurring in Afghanistan is not surprising to most conservatives, as this crisis only confirms the corruption and ineffectiveness that dominates our foreign policy establishment and military leadership. While this crisis is far from over, there are already a number of sobering lessons that Americans have learned:

1) The “America Last” agenda of the Democrat Party remains in place. It is simply unprecedented to have American military troops extracted from a crisis before every American citizen has been evacuated so once again, American citizens are treated as if they were lepers. Even in Vietnam in 1975, the military did not leave until all citizens were evacuated.

Moreover, what’s worse is the Biden Administration is spending far more time, money, and effort evacuating Afghanis than they are Americans. They even announced that Americans are on their own to get to the airport while 5,000 troops on the ground are ordered to do nothing but seal off the airport. And at least one report says that the State Department was intending to charge all Americans $2,000 to fly them home but apparently, they changed their mind.

2) Dismantling Trump’s policies is more important than national security. We now know the Biden Administration disbanded a State Department unit called the “Contingency and Crisis Response Bureau” which was created especially to draw up plans regarding the evacuation of Americans from situations like the one we have now.

3) “Social Justice” issues are now such a high priority in the military that it has affected its effectiveness. We now know that our military spends an inordinate amount of time, money, and energy championing phony “social justice” causes, both at home and abroad. Even the gay agenda in Afghanistan apparently received more attention than developing evacuation plans:

TWENTY YEARS AGO? How does that have anything to do with what’s going on today?

Not sure if this is being facetious or serious.  If serious, it was in response to Faux's claim that Joey's critics are the ones who got us into the war.

It’s serious. It’s ridiculous for people to be held responsible for a vote they cast two decades ago, especially when they’d have no control over the decisions made in the intervening two decades. And that goes for people taking both blame and credit. And no matter what side of the aisle they’re on.

With that said Mr Biden is responsible for the atrocious pull out. That’s ALL squarely on his shoulders. And again, not the broadly accepted idea of a withdrawal, but the bungled strategy to achieve it.

Joe Biden Begins the Bid to Rewrite the History of His Bloody Botched Afghan Exit

by Andrew Malcolm

Word out of the White House this week is that Joe Biden, or at least his handlers, intend to recapture the narrative on his colossal Afghan exit screw-up. Good luck with that tardy effort. It’s as if saying something in Washington, even without attribution, makes it so in this White House wonderland.

[Snip]

News Flash: The evacuation narrative train left the Kabul station more than a week ago when U.S. troops were finally gone, the Taliban was all over but so were countless thousands of Americans and Afghan allies. But the reality won’t stop this president from reading the lines touting his immense evacuation. Nor keep his dysfunctional team from parroting the same glowing things about Biden’s plan in order to reach any Americans not paying close attention to the chaotic and now deadly withdrawal scene.

BIDEN BUGS OUT: A few of Scott Johnson’s 12 thoughts and observations:

• Biden is spent. His remarks were pathetic and stupid. He gives human form to our humiliation. He embodies it. Anyone can see that.

• Charles Lipson rendered this concise verdict after the attack but before Biden’s remarks: “This deadly fiasco didn’t just happen on his watch. It happened because of his decisions, a series of fundamentally bad ones, taken by the President himself.” Anyone can see that too.

• Our political system does not offer an appropriate remedy for the epic failure of the Biden administration. Has any president ever stood so exposed in the opening months of his administration? Have we ever had a more ridiculous vice president than Kamala Harris standing next in line? Next in line after Kamala Harris is Nancy Pelosi. Next in line after Nancy Pelosi is Patrick Leahy.

• Biden vowed: “To those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes America harm, know this: We will not forgive. We will not forget.” His vow made me reflect on Biden’s literal memory issues. He can’t even remember the name of his Secretary of Defense — you know, the General.

• It is hard to take Biden’s vow seriously in the context of our retreat and surrender. It has a Monty Python quality to it.

To this point. Could you imagine the leaking and whistleblowing from the State Department and the Pentagon that would be going on right now if this happened a year ago?  Heck, there are so many voices now deflecting from Biden and laying blame on Trump, as though he’s still in office. Trumps agreement was bad, yes, but that’s no excuse for Biden’s failure.
