What Cuomo did was to go on TV every day and bloviate about everything under the sun including the minutiae of his brother's travails. He showed the world his innate lack of leadership and with his panicky projections, his unsteady leadership. Compare his actions to those of other people in leadership positions who were decisive without embracing their "Chicken Little" instincts.

To be fair the same can be said about Trump when it comes to projections. 1? 15? None? 60k? And now 100k? Which one is it?

So we shouldn't try to make predictions to the best of our ability? I suppose one could legitimately point fingers if one had a more predictive original set of projections. Refine the science based on what we've learned and move on. It's not a left-right thing, or at least it shouldn't be.

It shouldn’t be — agreed. But it always was, right from the start, because the media is playing sides and astoundingly dishonest.

This isn’t conspiracy. It’s reality.

Honest question: with everything you’ve seen from the media just these past four years, including three years of endless promises and prognostications that the president of the United States conspired with Russia to steal the 2016 election — why do you continue to buy in to their obvious agenda and lies?

Serious question: how diverse do you believe your primary news sources to be?

Extremely. I cite from all across the spectrum.

But that was a dodge. I was sincerely asking you that question because their track records has been incredibly poor. That's not a political statement, nor a partisan one. That's the factual record:

* They got WMD in Iraq wrong (some intentionally)

* They got government spying/mass surveillance pre-Snowden wrong (some intentionally)

* They got Brexit wrong

* They got the 2016 election wrong

* They got "Russia-gate" not only wrong, but backwards (some knowingly, some won awards for it)

That's just a small slice of the of their record too. Those were huge stories, some with tabs which we will be paying off for generations to come. And they not only dropped the ball on them, they went out of their way to do so -- then, lied/deflected/diminished their role after the fact. The coverage of this pandemic from start to finish in the establishment media has not been an improvement on the above track record. The difference is, more people than ever are seeing right through it -- not because of partisanship, but because the establishment media has never been more transparent about their true agenda then the past several years.

So politics aside, partisanship aside, Trump aside, Biden aside -- why do you, an otherwise sane and intelligent person, continue to give them any credibility whatsoever when they've proven to you over and over that truth is not their primary agenda?

Yes, but Trump was basically repeating what info he was getting from the experts while Cuomo was being his own "expert".

Was he really? If that’s the case I understand your position.

So with the lagging statistical reporting of Memorial Day weekend behind us, yesterday only NY state registered more than 100 deaths. Nineteen states were in low double digits and 30 states were either in single  digits or had ZERO. And remember those figures should all be way higher if they really accounted for three or four days. This story is over!

How DARE you!
Don’t you know it’s not safe to go outside.
Everyone must stay inside at all times and wear a face mask. It’s science.

Come to think of it, have they conducted clinical trials on the safety of wearing face masks? Are they safe? Do they protect me or you? What are the results of the double blind studies conducted around the world? I want to know.

The video of the (*^*&%^$^#in the mask above doing the story about the recklessness of the crowd around him while his crew is maskless sort of illustrates the point.

Much of what qualifies as reporting is simply an illusion, a story, a myth.  When the curtain is pulled back, reality is often revealed. There can be multiple reasons for the illusion, from good old fashioned salesmanship, to well-intentioned but bias-influenced decision making to something much more sinister and manipulative.

What strikes me is that in most other instances involving corporate America, people rightly identify the bull#### and call it out.  When Wells Fargo manipulated customer accounts, outrage followed.  When WaPo —-a commercial enterprise with its success/failure determined by forces other than some nebulous pursuit of “truth”—- reports for 4 years and misses on virtually every aspect of the Russia story, many people just shrug their shoulders.  I’ve asked before, but given the outcome of the probe, was WaPo and it’s vaunted staff of reporters and editors with a horde of anonymous sources simply incompetent, or was it deliberate?   Either way, it’s a very bad look.

But, the entrenched narrative that a “FREE PRESS” is actually free continues to carry the day.

Mondays are usually low. Today through Friday will give a better window of where we are maxing out this week. If we stay under 1300 deaths today and tomorrow, that will be a really good and reliable trend down.

It’s been trending steeply down for a month or more. You wouldn’t know it from everyone trying desperately to keep this story alive.
