I’m not much for conspiracy theory but your post made me think about how the government and the media have been able to get much of the country to VOLUNTARILY be ‘stuck at home’. There’s no blizzard. There’s no rising flood waters. There’s no locusts. No alien machines.

I was skyping with some friends  the other day and said I was being a "good little citizen" by staying inside and away from people for my two week self-quarantine.  What you are saying is not lost on me.

They have other countries as test cases, and a lot of the projections are based on the facts gleaned from places it has already spread

But wouldn’t those other countries have those data corrupters present as well? Specifically, lack of testing, asymptomatic carriers, and those with such minimal symptoms that they’re never tested or confirmed positive?

Do we know what population % of Italy was tested, irregardless of symptoms? Just as an example.

I'm not sure about that. We were in the NYC area last weekend ?  and on the local news was the ABC news team talking about how "my wife took the kids to the botanical gardens" and the women on the news team were saying they were going to get outside after work since the weather was beautiful, and then the very next segment was CORONAVIRUS and how we were all gonna diiiiiiiieeeeee.... Clearly, they didn't believe what their own news station was selling. The juxtaposition from  the chat-session to the next "news" segment was startling.

After that, they talked about  the first two deaths, moved on to a traffic accident where two died, and then did a CORONAVIRUS YOU ARE GOING TO DIE blurb that was so bad, even my Hubby (who has greater concerns about us all dying from this than I ever will) said, "That is irresponsible fear mongering."

Whether it started with the Chinese trying to kill us all or practice population control on their own, our "msm" trying to crash our economy, or simply for clicks, page views, and TV ratings... there seems to be multiple agendas, prior and currently.

I am not certain how this shakes out. Does Trump get reelected? Does the economy stay crashed (two quarters make a recession)? Will pent-up be energy released and the economy explodes as this virus runs its course?  Does the EU break-up?  Are the globalists done,  or do they lay low for a while?  Does manufacturing come back to all First World countries (at least for national security and public health concerns)?

IF there was an agenda or evil force behind this virus and the ensuing panic, it may not turn out the way it was originally assumed it would.

That's a fantastic post and point.

Yes, so what we are getting is best guesses based upon as much evidence as is available.

Nope. You have it right.

The "It's Only a Flu" group have mishandled this from the start.

Let me repost this here.

I think you misunderstood me. You see the lack of tangible data and assume it’s worse (based on you comment about it not being just a flu)

I’m saying how can we assume anything with data holes like that?

Look, I’ve tried to be discrete by asking innocuous questions, quizzing you about various things, liking posts and trying to get into your inner circle.  I’m just going to get to it:

Are you and your husband, or were you and your husband at one time, contractors for the CIA, the Department of Homeland Security, a shadowy government or quasi-government agency that operates beyond the prying eyes of Congress at the request of the President, and/or are you a specialist in anything that might loosely be described in a Ludlum novel as covert, deep cover, wet work, infiltration, or dark ops?   Do you speak multiple languages, and are you that rare combination of sultry beauty and an everywoman style that allows you to pass from Kremlin dinner party to das Walmart noticed yet unnoticed? Can your husband kill me and make it look like I accidentally swallowed my own shoe lace in spite of the fact I was wearing loafers, and it’s 2020, so more importantly, can you?

It’s either this, or you’re working for Amazon negotiating for warehouse space and massive tax breaks.  There literally are only two possibilities based on your travel schedule.

I like those scenarios! They are both much better than the truth (pent-up desire to travel, and finally having the opportunity to do so).

You are talking to a guy who spends 23 hours a day crying about Trump.

Possible psychopath.

Something to remember: the test kits available at first were faulty, they gave out false negatives and false positives at a rate of 40% or better. Our country discovered this after sending many of them out to testing centers. Once discovered we quit sending them out and recalled them. We created our own test and had to take the time to verify its accuracy before distributing them. This is what took the time and made it appear that we were not on top of things. Actually the opposite was true. While other entities were using test kits that were just as likely to be wrong as correct, we realized the fallacy of doing so and acted accordingly.

When was the last time anyone saw an administration as engaged in tackling a crisis as this administration is? Maybe 20 years ago, eh?

The exact answer that would be expected by someone like what he described...

We may have to add an actual extra "P" to PPP in order to properly reflect our membership. "***** Galore" comes to mind as the sultry but deadly femme fatale posting about her exploits here. Is it stirred not shaken or shaken, not stirred?

In my next life I want to be as attractive as Honor Blackman was in that movie.
