Hi all...I'll be coming up for a game and staying over for a night. Is there anywhere I should be looking at specifically?

TIA!

If you're a Bonvoy guy, downtown Buffalo has a Marriott (Harborcenter) and Courtyard Marriott down by the arena.  Further uptown, there's a Westin and a recently remodeled Residence Inn.   All are new or newish.

you waited until now for a hotel?

With 83 degrees in the forecast -  look for a camp site.

It's not for this week. Game against the Eagles.

And honestly, I don't care how far out it is. Just a nice place to sleep (I'll be with my 9yo son).

Lots of options depending on where you want to be and how much you want to spend.

I've done fine with the Red Roof in Hamburg.  There will be lots of fans there.

For the opener I'll be at the Holiday Inn Express in Hamburg.  Using up my IHG points from lots of business travel.

Thanks. I have never been in the area (NJ shore guy). Looking to come up Saturday, spend the night (maybe dinner and a movie), and then the game on Sunday.

It depends what you want to do on Game Day etc... if you drive up Saturday you can take advantage of tons of great stuff in Buffalo, but if you stay in Hamburg it's all kind of a hike to get downtown etc... not crazy long, especially compared to NJ traffic, but a solid 30+ minutes to get to stuff...

But if you stay in hamburg you're in prime location for Sunday.

Take a look at some of the things you guys want to do, and pick your hotel based on that.  If you've never been in the area, Niagara Falls is always a crowd pleaser, the Explore and More Childrens Museum is amazing and brand new downtown, plus you can check out Canal Side... it being late October it'll be cold but not snowing probably.  You also have great dining, and great eats... I highly recommend you hit up some wings from Buffalo locations and see the difference here versus else where.

Have fun man!

Here's a link to a google doc that  @plenzmd1 put together with input from a lot of board members. Lots of great info...although it looks like some bad edits at the top of the doc. @plenzmd1 - you might want to lock down edits, I checked and was able to make changes.

formatting must have gotten whacked in an upgrade somewhere. Thanks for the heads up. I wanted to leave it open so people can make edits on the fly..for instance i did not know there is a Residence Inn in downtown ...will update the doc later. See now they renovated that old Holiday Inn..that place was so old never even thought to mention it!

Go to harbor side/canalside...spend the extra money, close to the casino, bars, 716, and the hockey arena. That is all.

The Curtiss Downtown!  Great revolving bar on the 1st floor,  and a rooftop bar also.  Huge grotto and hot tub outside and the world class breakfast included.  Rooms are really cool and its overall funky.

If you need to be by the airport the Hilton Garden Inn Airport is a tad older but very clean with great staff.  I lived there for 9 months, so tell them Scott from Mass sent you-probably wont get you much but who knows!

You should stay over Sunday night because the Sabres have a home game on Monday the day after the Eagles game.  I'm flying in from Israel for those two games (football and hockey) and my son is flying in from Seattle
