Question Regarding the QB situation

Recommended Posts

Oh yes - BY ALL FRICKING MEANS lets throw him out there to get massacred.  Yes I know I know - we have a "decent" O-Line.....ya right.  We have "OK" receivers!  Ya right.  For the love of all things holy leave this kid on the bench and let him live.  Oh sure ship him out there and TOTALLY destroy him ala David Carr - we all know how well that worked out no?

I understand in theory why fans want his butt out there - but bottom line they aren't the ones who are standing there in the pocket facing - uh oh, missed my guy - look out Josh!  This kid is gonna get killed.....look at what happened to a season vet!  He is now in the crapper......oh sure lets do it again - why not huh?  Hose the kid.....eff him....

SMFH at some of you supposed fans here......

Sure, play him. Why not? He's never going to be anything more than what he's always been, which is NOT an NFL QB. Let's just get the team through the season.

You're a bad, bad Bills fan.

How dare you question the almighty????????

Hopefully this year for Allen will be the same as it was for Manning terrible on the field as far as results but awesome in the sense of learning the offense & the game allowing the game to slow down some & come to him so when next year comes around he can use the game reps & will take the second year jump !!

Disregard anyone saying he should sit because of the putrid OL play and lack of WR talent don't give us a fair view of him as a player. Evaluate HIM in as many games as possible. For example, he missed open throws prior to his injury. Can he cut down on the missed opportunities? Can he hang longer in the pocket? Can he be more decisive? It isn't about statistics, or even wins/losses. It is about exposing him to as many situations as possible to try and see if he will adapt and grow or fail.

Post bye week would be perfect. It would allow time for full recovery and give him one start against each divisional opponent. Like I said, letting him experience these situations from the field is most important at this time.

Again, don't tell me "he could get injured". He could always get injured. So could Aaron Rogers, or Drew Brees. It's a contact sport. You never know when it is your day. Hiding him on the bench buried behind these excuses just puts off until next year what we need to see now.

I'm afraid this is more like a baseball injury ... look how long pitchers sit when they have elbow issues ... his Arm is his asset ... though I want him to be on the field ... the reality is that injury needs to fully heal since its his throwing arm ... the non throwing arm .. a leg .. throw him out there .. the golden arm must heal.

Besides all the good points made in this thread, I also think that team culture plays into this. They are trying to build an atmosphere of playing for each other, being accountable and thinking of the team first. Sitting when you are healthy and the team is desperate at your position doesn't fit that model.

Also, if you sit Allen because you don't want him to get hurt then why are the other top guys playing and risking injury? If you're tanking the season then why play anyone who is in their plans for next season? Its a slippery slope.

If you are not injured you play.

Gosh, we haven't seen enough of Josh to say he's not an NFL QB.  I guess you don't like apple pie either.  He needs to get the reps even though he has no help.  I'm afraid that come January, we will not know anymore than we know today.  We need to get a running game,  otherwise, this kid will be running for his life when he gets back in.  Not a good situation to evaluate a QB.

The problem is you're not going to find anything out or see any development with this oline & wr group.  He's more likely to just immediately get injured again. I realize most want him thrown back out there asap but I'd prefer do get him better protection & weapons b4 we do that.

I think, at this point, with this Bills offense, you should be asking yourself, Which of our uninjured QBs do we want to throw to the wolves THIS WEEK?

Maybe McCoach is now asking himself that very same question.

Mack will devour whoever they put out there.
