I've been thinking that for the present moment Bernie would have been better.  Income inequality is his thing.  Second to police, this is the issue most talked/chanted about.

Bernie was too radical. Now radical is in and we're stuck with the status quo establishment candidate in a time of change.

NY Times: The First Rule Of Biden’s Economic Policy Committee Is You Do Not Talk About The Economic Policy Committee

The NY Times published a story today headlined, “Biden’s Brain Trust on the Economy: Liberal and Sworn to Silence.” The piece attempts to tease out who is advising Joe Biden on economics but ultimately has to make some guesses because no one involved will admit they are involved. In fact, the Biden campaign has specifically given them a “Fight Club” style warning in the form of a memo. The first rule of being part of Biden’s economic policy committee, it seems, is that you do not talk about it.

It’s the Bernie people (literally people who worked for his campaign) who are leading the looting and rioting.

They said (again, literally said) that if Bernie didn’t win the Democratic nomination that they would start burning down major cities.

What America is experiencing right now, (one more time, literally) is a Communist revolution.

I’m not so sure that it would have been a good idea to give these people power.

I’m not offering my opinion.

I’m telling you that’s how these people identify politically.

They told you this themselves, in their own words.  Some said they were Trotskyites, others actually defended gulags, some others said that once Bernie was in power that conservatives would probably need to spend time in re-education camps.  Bernie himself is a Communist, not a Democratic Socialist.  Look at his policy prescriptions.  They don’t align with the policies of the Scandinavian nations.

You’re talking about a man who vacationed in the Soviet Union, came back heaping praise, and then a few scant years ago lauded the policies of Hugo Chavez.

We're not buying Joe Biden's 'tough on China' Act

Joe Biden is running away from his record as the "pro-China" candidate so quickly that his defenders in the liberal press can't make heads or tails of it.  Ordinary Americans are equally confused.

Biden spent over three decades opening American markets to Chinese goods, ignoring China's abhorrent human rights record, and dismissing the challenge posed by our greatest rival for global leadership.  The "made in China" era coincided with the closure of tens of thousands of American factories, stagnant working-class wages, and the loss of America's ability to produce essential goods domestically — a vulnerability that took on incredible significance when we learned that we were dependent upon China to produce the medical equipment needed to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

This disaster was facilitated by politicians of both parties, and no one was more gung ho than Joe Biden, poster child for the globalism that reigned supreme until the 2016 presidential election, which Donald J. Trump won by campaigning on a platform diametrically opposed to the "open markets and open borders" philosophy of the D.C. establishment.  In the White House, President Trump became the first American leader in decades to take a firm stand against China's malfeasance and demand a genuinely fair and reciprocal trade deal for American workers.

While Joe Biden was the vice president of the United States, conversely, he was downplaying the consequences of China's rise — even as his own family tried to get rich through deals with Chinese state-owned companies.

How is it possible, then, that Biden has suddenly tried to recast himself as the "tough-on-China" candidate in the 2020 race?

Biden's campaign even ran an ad claiming the president had "rolled over for the Chinese" in response to the coronavirus that Beijing unleashed on the world.

Some questions to think about (but no need to actually answer them here): what estimated percentage of the looters and rioters were Bernie supporters? What percentage of the looters and rioters were politically motivated? What estimated percentage of the Bernie campaign’s army of volunteers participated in the looting and rioting? What percentage of the paid Bernie campaign staff participated in the looting and rioting? Most importantly, what actual data are these estimates based on? And what are the sources providing this data?

I’m not at all implying that Antifa types weren’t involved. What I’m suggesting is that I don’t think the numbers were very large, nor do I think many of these idiots were ever active in the actual political process. I doubt very many rioters even put in the effort to vote for Bernie, nor do I think these people ever had the aptitude for rising through the political ranks and obtaining political power over the rest of us.

We should be careful before attempting to paint a very large and complex political movement in one fell stroke. I doubt many here would appreciate it, for example, if I used that same broad brush and began similar painting of my own. A sample of my artwork: “I think I heard someone mention that they heard about a bunch of Proud Boys who volunteered for Trump’s campaign and posted on Stormfront about showing up to Charlottesville with tiki torches and MAGA hats. The Trump administration is a dangerous burgeoning white nationalism movement that will inevitably ethnically cleanse all blacks and cage all Mexicans from coast to coast if Trump secures a second term. A friendly reminder to vote Biden on November 3 and avoid genocide.”

Please take a deep breath and relax, TakeYouToTasker. I almost won Right-Wing Fearmongering Bingo with this single post of yours! I had Trotskyite, gulag, re-education camp, communist, democratic socialist, Scandinavia, Soviet Union, and Chavez all on my card. All I needed was a combination of Marx and comrade, Lenin and Engels, or Stalin and KGB to win (I could have also won with just Menshevik or Khrushchev or Sputnik or Bolshevik, though that would have been unusual to see these mentioned in a post…).

What are the policy prescriptions that make Bernie a communist? I know he calls himself a democratic socialist and has praised the Nordic model numerous times. But he also wants to abolish democracy along with socializing the production AND consumption of our entire economy?! If you can point to evidence from Bernie’s campaign website or from his 30-year Congressional voting record, that would help. If you cite particular speeches or writings of his, can you provide links or full quotes so we can examine the context for ourselves?

Anchored in Milwaukee, 2020 Democratic National Convention will be a “Convention Across America

</snip>

Anchored every night in Milwaukee, the Democratic National Convention will include four nights of programming from August 17-20, 2020. The overall production of the convention’s program—including the satellite broadcasts—will be led by nine-time Emmy-award winning producer Ricky Kirshner. Kirshner has served as the Executive Producer of the Tony Awards since 2004, the Super Bowl Halftime Show—the most-watched television event of the year—since 2007, and has worked on every Democratic National Convention since 1992.

At the convention, Democrats will officially nominate Vice President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee for president. Through multiple formats and mediums, it will also celebrate the promise of America by featuring the people and their stories that represent the strength and collective humanity of our nation and demonstrate that Vice President Biden is the leader the country needs right now—with the experience, steady hand, and compassion to lead us out of the crisis of the last four years, and strengthen our nation for all Americans.

Well...........what do think Bernie "supporters" ?

THE RADICAL JOE BIDEN

The conventional wisdom right now is that Joe Biden is semi-senile, and that his choice of a vice president is all-important as it is likely this person (almost certainly a black female) will become president at some early point in the next few years if Biden wins in November. This conventional wisdom may be narrowly accurate, but ultimately wrong. Why?

First, there is an imperceptible difference between a senile Biden and a feeble-minded Joe Biden. Let’s face it, Biden has been feeble-minded since he entered national politics almost 50 years ago. What is decisive is that even if he isn’t trending toward senility, he has already sold out to the far left of the Democratic Party, and has signaled his intent to implement a far-left agenda if he wins.

Don’t take my acerbic word for it. Read Michael Tomasky’s article “Biden’s Journey Left” in a recent New York Review of Books. Tomasky is one of the smarter lefty writers who I make a point of following. And his article makes clear that a Biden administration would be the most left-wing administration in history—far to the left of Obama.

Among other things, Tomasky reports that Biden’s campaign was having close and cordial contact with Bernie Sanders’s campaign well before Bernie dropped out, and that Biden quickly incorporated a lot of key Sanders people in his campaign when Bernie finally departed the race:

Biden and Sanders get along fairly well personally, and Biden understands that he needs to take the left seriously. . .  After Sanders withdrew, the discussions between the two turned more toward substance—and the extent to which Biden would be willing to adopt pieces of the Sanders agenda. Thus were formed the six task forces that the Biden campaign unveiled on May 13. These eight-member groups cover the economy, health care, immigration, criminal justice, climate, and education, and each is co-chaired by one Biden supporter and one Sanders supporter.

The left-wing presence on many of them is remarkable. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez co-chairs the climate panel with John Kerry. Representative Pramila Jayapal of Seattle, a major Sanders backer, co-chairs the health care task force with Obama surgeon general Vivek Murthy. The economist Stephanie Kelton, a top Sanders adviser and proponent of Modern Monetary Theory, which holds that the government should pay for major new investments like the Green New Deal by printing more money, is on the economic task force. The task forces, I’m told, have a threefold mission: to publicly recommend the policy positions that Biden should run on, to guide the writing of the party platform, and to inform the transition, should Biden win the election (assuming there is an election, or an uncorrupted one). It stands to reason that some of the members of these task forces might also fill important slots in a Biden administration.

The quote you're referring to is literally saying the general election ;)

You're wrong.

(Like you're wrong about Joe)

But let's focus on this. Joe has proven that he has no marbles left in his head, he won't be POTUS, he'll be a puppet. You're still okay with voting for a man who you know cannot do the job and instead relying upon unelected officials to do it for him from the shadows? You find this acceptable?

You're in for a fun 7 months, but at least your hard won Trump avatar will soak up your tears

Found your tears...
