Didn't they learn anything from 2016?

If Bernie gets the most votes and they screw him again, Trump will win and they will lose the HoR I suspect.

.screw him anyhow....this off the wall Cuban crustacean is beyond reproach......

Do you think if they screw Bernie again Ds will win anything in 2020?  HoR?  Senate?   Prez?   See, I think if they lose all 3 if they don't let the voters decide and instead put someone else in.

That's the point I was making. Nothing to do with if you like Berni or not.

...excellent questions.......and I have NO answers.....the fickle segment of the electorate is too unpredictable......I haven't attended an extended family function in YEARS because they are all "dyed in the wool Dems".....I'm a conservative independent but the SOB's loved to goad me into political discussions.....CNN is "their gospel"......vote a "split ticket"?.....that is heresy/blasphemy.....one of my late aunts anguished over voting for Obama, or a Republican or no vote....the quandary?..."I don't know if I can vote for a black man"...but she did because he was a Dem...or  another one whose return address labels said, "ALWAYS a Democrat"......some of her infamous quips:...""Ronald Reagan ruined my life.....George Bush is NOT my President"....or  a straight faced cousin who said "Monica Lewinsky did a service to this country by "relaxing" President Clinton so he could do a better job"...their list is endless and I can't make this crap up......sad, isn't it?......

Not only that. I truly believe that they run a very real risk of splitting their party. There are a lot older people and moderates within the democrat party that will support liberal and leftist policies, that absolutely will not vote for a socialist. There's a lot of younger people in that party that are very pro-socialism, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they became socialist independents if Bernie gets screwed again, and bailed on the party en masse.

And if Bernie wins the nomination, I believe it will be the start of traditionalist defections from the democrat party.

The democrats have positioned themselves in a lose/lose situation. Bernie can't beat Trump and his candidacy will hurt the down vote. If the dems find a way to squeeze him out then they'll lose a lot of his base also hurting the down vote and losing to Trump. They have done this to themselves by their TDS and general hysteria over anything Trump. All they had to do was to give a good faith effort to solve problems with the Republicans and act like adults by putting country before party. They can't do it though. Instead they allow the far left of their party to split them apart to the extent that they can't nominate a candidate that is generally acceptable to their entire party and won't be able to beat Trump with anyone they nominate.

...but I'm not sure they have a clue as to how to control the fracture......The "divide has become too wide" and with woefully inept leadership (COUGH) ala Pelosi and Schumer, they are the probervial " SS Minnow"....you get what you vote for IMO......

I don't believe that they will be able to control it. Pelosi, Schumer, and their ilk have been on a hate-fueled campaign against Trump, offering little or nothing positive to the American public. While they've been preoccupied with their vendetta, Bernie (and to a lesser extent "the squad") have risen to cult status with a large segment of their party. They have, in effect, rendered themselves largely irrelevant.

To a bunch of socialists.

It just seems that for a bunch of professional politicians, they've fumbled big time on a politics 101 level.

The dems have been so bad politically that I would describe it as the equivalent of striking out in T-Ball.

@GG thank you for the reply....758 billion for illegal wars in 160 countries is a fact only 40 blues&8 reds voted no.... TrumpOLINI and Bernie are the same bird flying F35s out of Vermont one billion dollars each.... we need WWW.HOWIEHAWKINS.US to grow a Green Peace economy and pay off the debt to China cancel our debt to USA banksters who print money themselves

@OldTimeAFLguy Democrats are one eighth the party of FDR splitting over racism, war profiteering, zionism, abortion and now the Clintonistas gasping for air as the issue is not McCarthyism but is just who believes the lies enough to show up and vote.....Bernie is a sheepdog who screwed himself in Philadelphia....we already have socialism for the rich murderers 22 trillion borrowed since 1982 so they don't need to tax themselves for illegal oil wars in 160 countries
