Someone needs to be fired over Mahomes right now.

You might be right as far as the order of hiring.....but that train has left the station.

Too much complaining about what has been done in the past instead of looking to what might be done for the future......

THis season is lost....but we probably will have a top 5 pick and 10 picks in that draft (so far) and 90 million in cap space.......we have punted for this season.....I look to next season.

I was still hoping something could happen this season to build on and it wouldn't be a complete throwaway season.

The point is the trade itself. My view is that Andy Reid saw that he could roll a former novice of his who he knew was conservative, defense minded, and not a little naive (a corner? Really?). It was essentially like taking candy from a baby. The fact that it was  Reid (a guy who has ALWAYS been right about quarterbacks) of all people who really wanted Mahomes should have told McDermott everything he needed to know.

Yep. If I know Andy Reid is hellbent on getting my draft pick to pick a guy, I'm inclined to go ahead and pick that guy for my own team. Unless I'm the Bills.

It was at the end of the 1st round where we picked......and it ended up being a shut down corner (and the 1st rounder)

He did not roll anybody

So Andy Reid has never made a bad 1st round pick?

I actually dont know the answer to that question....but that would make for interesting information.

Dude. Modern NFL. Get to know it. It's all about the qb. Also, we picked at the end of the first round ... BECAUSE WE TRADED OUT OF THE EARLY FIRST ROUND!

And we actually do not know yet if it was the right call or the wrong call......we will not know until we see what kind of product Josh Allen becomes....which we wont know for a couple of years.

You do understand that QBs mature at different rates right?   You are trying to compare Mamommes right now to Josh Allen right now

Do you seriously trust McDermott re QBs over Andy Reid??

No

But he was with a group that drafted the Panther's QB.......so there is that

Your upset that he isnt making perfect change calls at the LOS from a RAW ROOKIE

Jesus is warranted

I don't need perfect calls, I just need some calls. He looks like a deer in headlights at the line in my opinion. I agree, it is premature. I think if he was even in his 2nd year it is early to make a judgment. I really mean it more as a compliment to Mahomes. I didn't see this coming at all, he looks like he's going to be amazing.

I hope allen becomes decent (he's bad right now). The thing is, mahomes is one of the 2 or 3 best players in the league right now. It is highly unlikely that allen ever becomes as good as mahomes is now, but it's not impossible.

In KC, it's been Eric Fisher, Marcus Peters, Dee Ford, Patrick Mahomes

Like I said......its the bills so the sky is falling....and there were several teams that actually did need QBs that also passed on him.

I have no problem believing that despite the fact that he was brought along the right way and fell into a perfect situation.....I also think he would look flat aweful in our situation (starting Allen too early....no protection...no running game...no receivers......Deboll looks like a flop)

Anyone who thinks Mahommes would have come here, started immediately, and played with our offense would actually look good....they are fooling themselves.

Stop.  First of all, there is no player in the NFL named Mahommes.

Second, the “he would have sucked here” argument is the most pathetic cop-out ever.  It’s an objective fact that MAHOMES is a great QB and we could have had him without trading up.  It’s also an objective fact that, until further notice, the Bills’ QB situation is the worst in the league.

They were playing out the last days of the old GM while searching for their new GM. Did you want the last GM to pick the quarterback moving forward When he was going to be fired soon after?

Maybe it was just bad timing.

I think they should have done what every team does. Clean house in January, not the day after the draft and act like you're revolutionizing the NFL calendar.

And that's the incredibly obvious, self-evident point that makes it so frustrating trying to argue with McDermott/Beane (and or lame duck Whaley) supporters. Obviously, in retrospect, it was a huge mistake not drafting Mahomes, no matter what happens with Allen in the future. You can argue rationally that at the time it wasn't an awful decision since obviously not everyone was sold on Mahomes (he did, after all, go 10th overall). But with hindsight? Please, just admit it.

I thought it was spell check, but I think it's not that simple. My theory: John is from Riverside, which is kind of near where Josh Homme and his Queens of the Stone Age are from. So I think it's Homme-Mahomes interference. Whatever. I'm glad someone finally pointed it out.

Ding Ding Ding we have a winner. It’s just like those Hillary Clinton fans, they can not accept they lost to Trump. The never Mahomers are in hiding and are having a hard time with this. People who knew and predicted Mahomes was the next favre are enjoying the ride.

Actually, Favre did not look nearly this good at this stage of the game.

Andy Reid has proven time and time again that he is a QB master.  Josh Allen would probably look pretty sick in KC right now.

Of course Mahomes is good, and of course it seems like he'll end up the better QB, but do any of you truly believe it would work here with this coaching staff? We deliberately stunt our offense and willfully neglect addressing entire positions.

Personally, I don’t care if people want to discuss a dynamic player in the league. But if this topic continues to be a huge pissing match, where people just keep poking people in the eyes week after week after week, then we should just close it and get on with life.
