Why is Bills offense so dreadful on the road??

Second straight road game where the Bills have been dominated up front and Tyrod has been sacked and pressured almost every dropback. Is it communication problems? The OLine not being able to feed off the home crowd? Soemthing else?

I'm not sure what is going on but its something they better get fixed fast. There should not be this huge disparity in OLine play between home and road games...

It's one of those weird years where this team might go 6-2 or 7-1 at home but go 1-7 or 2-6 on the road which isn't likely going to be good enough for the playoffs.

And quite frankly this team is a few plays away from 0-4 on the road and still think the Falcons would have beat us if not for losing their top 2 WR's in that game.

Either way things are going to have to change quickly both at home and on the road for this team to win games against much better competition in the 2nd half of the season.

Pats, Saints and Dolphins aren't the Bucs, Raiders and Broncos. And not sure how we can win any of the road games left is we were dominated by the likes of the Bengals and Jets on the road.

And we scored 3 points against Carolina. And the defense scored a TD in ATL. The qb is not good enough to combat the running game being stopped. The teams we have played on the road have stopped the run and madeTyrod beat them. It cant and wont happen.

Its more than that...they are simply being beaten WAY more man on man than they are at home. Thats where it all starts at.

Carolina : The running backs gained 14 yards total, at 0.93 yards a carry

New York : The running backs gained 28 yards total, at 1.75 yards a carry.

How do you think most NFL quarterbacks fare faced with a situation like that? Alright, let's try looking at it from another angle :

New York - Week 1 : The running backs gain 154 yards at 4.47 yards a carry. Taylor throws for 224 yards, runs for 38 yards.

New York - Week 9 : The running backs gain 28 yards at 1.75 yards a carry. Taylor throws for 285 yards, runs for 35 yards.

You look at that and your reaction is to blame Taylor ?!? The same teams. The same lines, offense & defense. The same QB and RBs.......

The reason we cant get the run game going is because those teams put enough players at the line of scrimmage to take the run away. They were willing to allow 1 on 1 on the outside and very little players in coverage because they know the QB WONT hurt them. It is day 1 stuff. The defenses that make Tyrod try and beat them, shut us down. Teams like the Raiders or Bucs dont have the ability to stop the run. So even if they tried it didnt matter. The Jets learned from week 1 and were not going to let Shady beat them again.

The Jets front 7 is the best front 7 we have faced since Carolina. You see the results. We don't face a front 7 like that again this year, except maybe KC.

Yes we do, Miami's front seven is one of the best in the league and certainly better than the Panthers and Jets.

Going to be ugly for sure going against a defense like that, not just once either.

were they trying to get tricky blocking the jets?

I read Jets were stacking the box and 5 man rushes. I did not see the game.

Sounds like the blocking game / O-line got handled from most reports.

That right side lineup still befuddles me. But is it play calling up front?

so you have to dial up the pass proper.

and you sure gotta chuck the ball kinda far and high a couple times to loosen that box

You gotta be kidding. These attempts at propping up the Jets in order to make that loss look better really are amusing. I'd wager that 99% of this forum couldn't name the starters on their front 7 without Googling it -- and we just played them 2 days ago. Davis has been a JAG LB throughout his 6-yr career. Darron Lee has been a massive disappointment and there were rumors he would be benched after week 2 this year. Their DL has something like 3 sacks combined 9 games into the season. Wilkerson is the only player of note in that front 7 and even he has been slowing down (of course, we made him look like JJ Watt last night). If anything the bright spots for them are the rookies Maye and Adams in the secondary.

It's not all that complicated. The most portable thing on the road is defense and Oline play. The Bills had neither and haven't for awhile. Matchups matter, but for the most part the Oline hasn't been dominant. The D has played well but haven't been all that stingy when it comes to yards. On a day with no takeaways a few extra drives led to points. Dennison was soundly out coached and Frazier never thought of dialing up much pressure on the 38 year old McClown. The Bills are still struggling to find continuity within Dennsons new run blocking scheme. They also have a couple of sub par Olinemen. They will continue to have difficulty on the road because of these issues , a .500 road record is the absolute ceiling for this team.

Yep. OL has not been good. After the Raider game I was hoping they had begun to gel but we got jello instead.
