The greatest Blues album IMO.

Blind Owl shines.  He was a tortured genius.  So sad that only his photo is present on cover.

Very gifted, he might be most talented of the 27 club.

Don't mess with the Hook.

Hooker talking about Pigpen is hilarious.

And Hook praises Blind Owl.

"I dig this cats harmonica...I don't know he follow me, but he do...I see I can't lose ya

I can’t lose him. He musta listened to my records all his life"

'Alan..Alan. Blow your horn, baby!'

Don't forget to boogie

Another of my favorite albums (my brother initially purchased this album from Columbia House record and tape club, and I inherited it when he moved out. It actually it was 2 albums for 1 dollar, Grape jam and Wow packaged together)

On this cut Mike Bloomfield sits in on piano, and jerry Miller plays guitar.

Jerry Miller now tours with Eilien Jewel's band, and I was fortunate enough to meet him several years ago at the Grass Roots festival in Ithaca. We had all access backstage passes, I got from my nephew who was playing with Kevin Kinsella (they were former

bandmates with John Brown's Body). Anyway Eilien Jewel was playing her set, and finished up when we we're backstage. I was very impressed by her guitarist, and came over to him to tell him how much I enjoyed his playing. Not knowing who he was at the time, he introduced himself as Jerry Miller, and the name seemed familiar. I thought about it all the way home, and it finally hit me that he was the guitarist for Moby Grape.

I ran into him again at a show they did at the German House in Rochester, and told him the story of meeting him before. He actually chuckled a little and said he remembered that because at the time (when I didn't realize who he was) I had told him that he was the best guitar player I had ever heard from Idaho (that's where Eilien Jewel is from , even though he is not)

And that's what he remembered.

Here he is jamming with her band

I was listening to sirius XMU their indie radio channel and the band my son played bass for came on the radio lol. That was cool and random because the song has been out for years. The blonde ripper he is playing was destroyed in hurricane sandy. Their practice space flooded all their equipment and mics, everything kerplunk.

I like this, the singer sounds like a cross between Neko Case

And the chick from Mazzy Star

Interesting. I'm not so sure of the tuba though

Here's one more from my nephews big band. Feat. Alan Evans from Soulive on drums, and Nigel Hall (vocals), Eric Benny Bloom (trumpet) from Lettuce.

I am a HUGE Bonnie Raitt fan. We used to be in front row just shamelessly flirting with Freebo and we made him Blush LMAO great memory. A white dude with an afro who played tuba I even named a cat after him LMAO

TMI mup TMI

I like Bruce Hornsby and it looks like he worked with her quite a bit over the years.

Not a song I'd listen to often but a very good one

In an interview I heard Bonnie say that THIS is the song that most fans will want to make comment on. Its a human condition after all. Poignant and sad for me but great song nonetheless

I saw John Lee Hooker open for Blues Hammer back in 2000.

If you like some "way down in the delta blues" you'll love Blues Hammer.

Going Down To Louisiana - Bonnie Raitt & Lowell George & John Hammond Jr & Freebo - YouTube

this is how I remember Freebo and Love this music yo

I'm not familiar with this album, but I really wasn't a huge fan of BR (I don't know why because she's a great talent) until I met my wife (she's a huge fan). We saw her at finger lakes a few years ago and she put on a good show.

In a similar vein we saw Lucinda Williams in the Geneva Opera House around the same time, don't think she is as talented as Bonnie, but I love her bluesy voice.
