gdabillsfan
Ok, since we're drifting to the odd and unusual. This one is for you Muppy (you said you had a thing for Bass players) They were playing at one of the grassroots festivals, and the wife dragged me in because it sounded like something she could klogg to. I was dubious at first, but after a couple of songs, I came away thinking "man this guy is nuts" and that "I kind of like it".

Zappa was a musical genius, not just as a player, but as an arranger, a conductor, a writer, etc. I saw an interview with him once where the interviewer ask him how he interacted with other "rockstars", and he replied "I don't hang out with rock musicians". He wasn't saying that to be rude (maybe he was idk) but he always got the best musicians to play in his bands. I was having that problem also. I don't use chrome as a browser, because of all the infernal pop up ads, and apparently youtube doesn't play well with others, unless you open youtube in another window within the browser, so maybe that's your trouble

A band based in san francisco I had friend who was sound man for a good chunk of great 70s and 80s bands tours. Dead, Police, Eagles, Blood,Sweat and Tears, etc. He has stories about them all. This man has seen literally thousands of shows! When he was asked best live concert- he would always instantly answer The Tubes! That always has intriqued me. I say "you were basically front row for Police 1979, Dead prime years, etc- what make the Tubes your favorite live act?" "The Tubes were incredible live band! The energy! Costume changes! Set list! Stage presence!" He would get so excited when he talked about live Tubes shows. When I first heard this, I had to revisit The Tubes- all I could remember was "Talk to you Later". Now I know they are kick ass live band!

Great artist by the way, I have Gallo to thank I guess

Anyway, they put on quite a show, and I came away most impressed with their version of "Don't Touch Me There" (who would of figured a 15 year old or so kid, would of been most impressed by a hot chick singing that song) ,
