He won't be 27 until New Year's Eve So he'll have plenty of time to improve that facet of his game. Hyde's PFF rating was only as a CB cos that's where he took the majority of snaps last year Not safety He was rated a little outside the best starting 48 CB's in the NFL So a superb depth player, but unknown potential and or status as a starter Hyde's Dave Koch sports rating was a full point less than our S starters last year IMO Koch ratings are better than Madden but all metrics have their pros and cons But the point is he'll have to improve his game quite a bit to be equal to Graham Let alone automatically be an upgrade jc Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
boyst Posted April 14, 2017 Share Posted April 14, 2017 he seems like a much better upgrade to corey graham than i would have expected based off of very little reading and viewing. i do not know if i want him at free safety. i would take him at strong safety where he can play closer to the action. if we got malik hooker at free safety than i would be hopeful we would have a solid backfield. save for corner. Hyde seems to have natural instincts and awareness, he plays much faster than his time suggests imo. I personally feel Ragland fits this mold too.. It's UnBillieviable. I disagree here, Hyde is a defensive playmaker, and in alot of big time games. He can really be special Byrd's style is to come on contract time and then have issues like planters fakeitis when he is unhappy how much being paid. Will not fit new coaching style at all. I liked how he said Hyde's goal was to find a team he could stay with the rest of his career, didn't want to drag out the FA process. He did the same thing with his college recruitment process. Iowa was there from the beginning. He had some later, "bigger" offers but he stayed with the school that knew they wanted him first. He wanted to focus on football, not the recruiting process.
