Tonight's Trump "Joint Address"

A speech for his 44% who support him. Nothing has changed.

Bill Clinton got a whopping 43% in 1992, and he was our President.

Bill Clinton improved to a huge 49% in 1996, and he was still our President.

Bill Clinton was a minority president. He NEVER won a majority of the popular vote, but he was our President for eight years.

So suck it up PastaJoe and live with it.

big tax cuts for individuals and business

build the wall

The budget deficit would be huge

Maybe the Dems can grab the fiscal responsibility plank and add that to their platform. Right now their platform is more like an old rotted wood dock.

Are you referring to the popular vote win, the one in 1992 that included Perot? In any case, Clinton won a plurality in both elections, which Trump couldn't even do.

I'm referring to current poll numbers, of which Trump has the lowest approval rating in modern history to date. At this point in March 1993 Clinton had a 53% approval rating. So suck on those real facts.

Do you realize who unbelievably petty you sound with this?

Do you honestly believe that history will look back at the Trump presidency and bark about how his first five-weeks in office polled lower than a guy who made an intern suck his dick in the oval office?

Grow up. There is a world SO much bigger than the one you're viewing through your bubble.

Not as petty as he's going to sound when he calls you a Trump supporter.

And you know who's not President? Clinton.

The only reason Clinton won was because Perot was in the race.

Cling to your pathetic shreds of data that you use to pat your bruised soul like a wet washcloth would a sunburned face. None of the Clintons have any dignity. They lost it on the top of a blue dress and Huma's lips.

I don't care what his poll numbers say if he and his administration and this congress are effective in addressing Debt/budgets, jobs/economy, national security, illegal immigration and health care reform.

ASSOCIATED PRESS ATTACKS TRUMP’S TRIBUTE TO RYAN OWENS

Response to President Trump’s speech last night has been overwhelmingly positive, and the high point of the speech was Trump’s emotional tribute to fallen Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens and his widow, Carryn Owens. Even many Democrats (although not Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Keith Ellison) were blown away by the moment.

So the Associated Press had to spring into action to neutralize the pro-Trump tide. AP reporter Tammy Webber authored this hit piece headlined “Was Trump tribute to fallen soldier fitting or calculated?” The AP story is already popping up in newspapers across the country, as editors join in the counterattack against the president.

{snip}

This trick is as old as the hills. Or as old as the Associated Press, anyway. Step 1: Frame an issue with a slant toward your political point of view. Step 2: Seek out like-minded “experts” for partisan commentary. Let them do most of the dirty work. Step 3: Give the last word to the political ally whose spin you want the reader to remember.

The Associated Press was once–perhaps mistakenly–seen as a respected news service. No longer.

It’s Andrew Rosenthal, who invented the fake news about George H.W. Bush and the supermarket scanner, so you can take his opinion on Republican presidents and electronic devices to the bank.

You're mistaken.

You probably saw a different angle, then. When the cameras showed SCOTUS members, Kagan & Sotomayor were sitting, while the rest were still standing and clapping for a while.
