Mock Draft

the #1 "long term" priority is a Franchise QB. Tyrod may or may not be that guy.

i accept that drafting a QB in round 1 or 2 in 2016 isn't a "short term" priority. there are so many other needs at starting positions.

I still say we should draft a QB in rounds 1 or 2 for 2016.

In my fanspeak mock above Goff, Cook and Wentz were all off the board.

Fanspeak updated their big board yesterday, lots of movement.

EDIT: I think it might be even more unrealistic than before. I'd kill for this to be our draft.

That would be the greatest draft in history!! You are getting 4 guys that may very well go in the 1st.

If it actually played out that way, I would dig it, and the 1st 2 picks are possible, it certainly would revamp the front 7 in one draft. But I'd bet my left nut Rankins goes in the 1st, 2nd at the latest at this point, given he doesnt get pop'd for drugs, beat his girlfriend or something along those lines in the mean time.

I love Ridgeway at NT in the 5th, I have a 3rd-4th round grade on him now, strong at the POA, would need some development, but could learn on the job I think and contribute early on 1st and 2nd down.

I think the Fanspeak update is much more realistic now. It has, for example, Sheldon Rankins going in the 1st, not the 3rd. This is what I got:

19: R1P19
OLB NOAH SPENCE
EASTERN KENTUCKY (pass rush!)
49: R2P18
G CODY WHITEHAIR
KANSAS STATE (can play tackle or guard. Rated top guard in draft by some).
80: R3P17
DT CHRIS JONES
MISSISSIPPI STATE (can play multiple positions. Has talent, just not all together on a consistent basis apparently).
114: R4P19
WR DE'RUNNYA WILSON
MISSISSIPPI STATE (need for tall, possession WR solved)
144: R5P17
CB RASHARD ROBINSON
LSU (tall CB from a school known for producing good CB's)
174: R6P17
FB GLENN GRONKOWSKI
KANSAS STATE (potential TE opposite Clay. I believe he had a good week of practice at Senior Bowl). If nothing else, should be good ST player.)

Noah Spence, Jarran Reed, Sheldon Rankins and Vernon Butler are among the other Senior Bowl participants surging up the board.

For a number of reasons on and off the field, Johnny Manziel is on his way out in Cleveland. And although North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz has some question marks as well, they aren't in the areas that have derailed Johnny Football's NFL career.
