I'm sorry, I don't have directions, but there must be a Browns fan site on the interwebs somewhere

yeah but it's really hard to access, must be over 18, not safe for work, enter a credit card, and it's basically just hardcore S&M Porn cause you have to be pretty sadistic to continue putting yourself through pain and suffering to be a Browns fan and publicly acknowledge it.......

in our Browns fan bretheren's defense, at least Millen understood the importance of drafting WRs!

Yep and he kept drafting them with first round picks until he finally found a top WR!

Then again, even Jerry Jones bit on Roy Williams to give Detroit a first and third round pick to acquire him. Then gave the guy a 54 million dollar extension :w00t: The only other Dallas trade almost worse was giving up two first rounders for Joey Galloway who tore his ACL.

Yeah but the Herschel Walker trade to the Vikes balances them all out.

Debatable.

Naturally you would be the one to debate. His drafting record is good (post-Nix), his decisions on what players to re-sign vs. what players to let go have been excellent, his ability to get players to restructure has been excellent. Anyway you look at it, he has been a good GM. Period. He's also very candid and likeable in interviews. There's really nothing not to like about the guy. Edited by metzelaars_lives

I would disagree his drafting record is good. It look like we will maybe offer 2 second contracts to the 2013 and 2014 class. That's anything but good.

His decisions to re-sign vs. let go? So Byrd and Spiller? He wanted to re-sign Spiller to a ridiculous contract. C+ at best, or a wash.

Get players to restructure? Saving $500k on Graham's deal is a silver-lining after overpaying a DB on the decline. What other restructure master strokes did he have?

He's not really good. Period.

OK you win. Doug Whaley has been a poor GM for the Bills. Who do you like? Like is there anyone/anything in life that you're positive about? Is there a film you like or maybe a band that you like? A book that you enjoy? Do you like food? You conveniently left out the 2015 draft class, Levitre and several other restructures, among many other very good moves he's made as GM. But I digress. You set the criteria for why he was "good." Don't get salty because your rationale didn't really make sense.

As a Bills fan I'm allowed o laugh at this. Nice job!

I'm guessing he likes Scarface.

As I elsborated more since you responded, he has made plenty of very good moves as GM- much more than he's missed on. He missed on Manuel but they needed a QB and as it turned out, there wasn't much better out there anyway. I liked that pick at the time and don't hold it against him at all. What bothers me is when they would pass up on the no-brainers like Gronkowski/Troup and Wilson/Graham. Those were all Nix. Whaley has been very good as GM since he took over.

2015 draft class - some promise but it's too early to tell. The 2013 class looked like Whaley had hit on EJ, Kiko, Woods and Goodwin back then for a few weeks. And we all know how that turned out.

Letting Levitre walk was a good move, replacing him with garbage street FAs, then replacing them with a grossly overpaid Chris Williams was embarrassingly bad.

What other masterful restructures?

What other very good moves?

Good move, bad player, overpaid average player, bad player, no-brainer signed 1 year too late, addressed previously, signed too late, lucky due to a psychotic GM/HC (remember, Spiller had our offer on his table), huge contract but a decent player, addressed previously.

Metz, I too think overall DW has done a good job with trades, draft, and some free agents. Fire Chan, I'm not going to debate as I don't have the time, and you certainly have the right to disagree.

I just try and look at percentages of hits vs. misses, and hitting later in the draft. For every Cyril Richardson, you have a Karlos Williams. Polian made an impact on me when stating on NFLR when interviewed he was 57% in his drafts lifetime, and he is in the HOF. It's impossible to hit on everyone. I know just like I can cherry pick hits, you can cherry pick misses.

I just reflect back to every GM after Butler (put us in salary cap hell, but made some great picks after Polian) who basically sucked rotten eggs. we finally had a football guy when we picked up Nix and made some good choices, and I believe Whaley has been even better.

One of the worst things for this organization is to keep blowing up the staff every three years. How much patience did the Bengals, or Steelers have even after some bad years?
