Yep and he kept drafting them with first round picks until he finally found a top WR! Then again, even Jerry Jones bit on Roy Williams to give Detroit a first and third round pick to acquire him. Then gave the guy a 54 million dollar extension The only other Dallas trade almost worse was giving up two first rounders for Joey Galloway who tore his ACL. His drafting record is good (post-Nix), his decisions on what players to re-sign vs. what players to let go have been excellent, his ability to get players to restructure has been excellent. Anyway you look at it, he has been a good GM. Period. He's also very candid and likeable in interviews. There's really nothing not to like about the guy. Saving $500k on Graham's deal is a silver-lining after overpaying a DB on the decline. What other restructure master strokes did he have? He's not really good. Period. Fire Chan, I'm not going to debate as I don't have the time, and you certainly have the right to disagree. I just try and look at percentages of hits vs. misses, and hitting later in the draft. For every Cyril Richardson, you have a Karlos Williams. Polian made an impact on me when stating on NFLR when interviewed he was 57% in his drafts lifetime, and he is in the HOF. It's impossible to hit on everyone. I know just like I can cherry pick hits, you can cherry pick misses. I just reflect back to every GM after Butler (put us in salary cap hell, but made some great picks after Polian) who basically sucked rotten eggs. we finally had a football guy when we picked up Nix and made some good choices, and I believe Whaley has been even better. One of the worst things for this organization is to keep blowing up the staff every three years. How much patience did the Bengals, or Steelers have even after some bad years?
