Basically, he said he believes the client but not the mother of the client. If that's really true, he shouldn't have quit on the client. There's a difference between what he says on camera and what he actually thinks. The PC crowd would be up in arms if he said he didn't believe the victim of an alleged rape. Convicting beyond a reasonable doubt was always a pipe-dream. The DA decides if there is evidence. The porn lawyer saying it on Facebook does not make it fact. With those things said, it sure is a bizarre bunch of stuff here. Although still in speculation mode, I'd have to guess that: The family did want criminal charges, and possibly a settlement, but with criminal being the first priority The lawyer was telling the truth the other day when he said he had not discussed a settlement....doesn't mean the family didn't have two lawyers with separate tasks If this lawyer quit, there must be something seriously up with how the supposed evidence bag arrived....not just a small discrepancy in the story. After all he said he knows the family and that is why he was helping. He went out there and laid it on the line in public the other day...after a 30+ year career. Without using the words, he implied that he had no faith in local law enforcement. This was probably based on his thoughts that the articles were genuine....now it seems like they are not.....if they were genuine then it must have totally freaked him out and left him not knowing who to trust....he must have relationships that go back years with law enforcement and he must have felt none of them was good enough in such a strange circumstance.....he had to go public. Now it was a big ruse? Something the mom did? WTF? I have no idea. I haven't heard the lawyer say that the daughter's story was questionable....quite the contrary...he stated he still believes that story. Meanwhile the evidence has supposedly been intact the entire time. If there is good evidence, it is still there. If not, then not. This whole thing turning into a spectacle is not good for anyone.....especially future victims of sports heroes. Kobe and Big Ben are still heroes, and Kane looks like he is headed down that road. Even if Kane is totally innocent like the Duke kids, there is more roadmap out there for "how to get out of it". Hoo-ray. I didn't explain that last part very well and can't figure out just quite how to do it. There must be SO MUCH going on behind the scenes in this thing. Side note: From reading through the last few pages i think it is almost certain that the conclusion to this is Kane being convicted and locked up. If she said no to Kane and Kane said: "Oh yes I will!" Isn't that still Kaner raping a woman? Rape isn't about sex, its about controlling a person. No motivation @ all. I just think he is guilty and don't buy he was set up. I also hold the theory that the defense would want nothing better than to engage the accuser's side in public, but they (accuser) have been keeping quiet... Until this bag fiassco happened. The defense wants the case dismissed, that's a no brainer... What better way to do it than foul everything up and get the accuser's side to trip over their own feet? Exactly what is happening! I have a feeling the defense knows Kane is guilty and have to resort to some pretty dirty pool. Why would the plaintiffs want to foul the case? Of course the idiots are not helping themselves and playing right into the defense's tactics! That's my take. I am not a lawyer, but I stayed @ a Holiday Inn Express... The first thing you want to do as the defense is to get the case dismissed. It seems pretty clear, that this situation is close to that (dismissal). Just a few minutes ago, the plaintiff Tweeted that they want to see this case to its just conclusion. That's not the side that would seem to be purposely fouling things up. IMO, they are playing into some other interest's (defense?) hands. Just my 2 cents, I find this very fascinating... But see, that's what I don't understand. You say you think Kane did it, fine.
