They'll be more than 5 WR.... Remember Easley was just resigned. I imagine it's Watkins, Woods, Harvin, Goodwin, Hogan and Easley...

I was thinking about that before. It depends on what they think of Easley as an emergency WR. I think he's fine in a pinch, especially because we have so many weapons. I think they decide between Goodwin and Hogan, and they keep one or two big WR on the PS in case of injury. It's possible, because guys like Darby and Williams are so good on ST, that Easley don't make it, or they scrap the KO specialist and open up a roster spot for a 6th WR.

I doubt they get rid of him. Crossman loves his core ST's. And Roman is very familiar with Boobie as well. So he has two advocates amongst the coordinators.

Why couldn't Williams (a former safety) provide just as much "core" ST value, for a lot less $$$?

Brown has never come close to living up to the hype some posters have for him.

IMO, trading for Brown was one of Whaley's worst moves.

Brown showed a lot of potential in Philly. For a 4th rounder? Not a bad move. It just hasn't worked out, but that could be said about many players on Doug Marrone's offense. It seems like there isn't too many players on the offensive side that didn't spend an inordinate amount of time in his dog house.

All people talk about is the fumble against KC, which was huge, but he was working the Chiefs pretty good during that game. Against Miami he looked good too. He catches the ball well, has excellent speed. But those fumbles follow him, as they should... When the new HC won't say your name until you learn to hold on to the rock... Brown is on the line come camp.

I'm not sure the FB will be counted in this. I suspect that we go with 5 WR, 3TE, 4RB and 1 FB. But it's a really tough decision.

Freddy may be gone but I would hate to see it.

In the 3 count? No way the fb is included.

McCoy

Williams

And Freddy, Dixon, brown fighting for one spot (maybe two if terry won't let them cut Freddy even if he's 4th! Juuuust joking)

That or stash him on IR due to a mysterious injury. Essentially a red shirt year as this may be the last season for both Fred and Bryce.

If they put him on IR he can't practice at all. But PS he would stand a good chance of being signed away if he looks good in camp/pre-season.

It was like buying an insurance policy at the time. No one like to pay for insurance, but sometimes you write the check so you can worry about something else...

Good point. I just got so frustrated with folks telling me he was going to be better than Spiller.

I love Whaley. I hated spending a 4th rounder on a rb. Oh well.

Agree to disagree. Don't get me wrong, I think Marrone is awful. But Brown had the lowest ypc on the team at 3.5. He was bad.

I don't know about Williams being a lock.

Remember, Whaley said it would be very hard for these late round picks to make the team. He'll really have to have a strong camp to not end up on the practice squad if they keep Dixon...

Because Boobie is proven. Williams, at the NFL level, is not. We'll see how he looks in pre-season.

Then there's this: Karlos Williams is also accused of setting up a drug deal that led to an armed robbery. http://deadspin.com/cops-man-says-karlos-williams-set-up-pot-deal-that-led-1652313343

Who hasn't? :)

And Williams definitely has major character issues. If doesn't clean it up, he won't be long in the league.

Of course not in the 3 count. I was thinking 4 count (even going in before Williams, with McCoy, Freddy, Boobie and Brown). They could still keep four because of ST, short yardage, lack of a good TE meaning keep one less than Roman may want and use Boobie and Felton as that guy who can block, move in motion, maybe flare out.

Boobie could free up $1.1 million in cap space (vs. $660,000 for Bryce Brown).

If Williams can provide the same ST value, it may come down to a $$$ decision...

Get younger, get cheaper, get more talented. It's how you churn guys in a roster like this. I've been saying vets that don't start will have a target on them and this looks to be a guy that facilitates one of those moves.

So were all of the RB's last year. Was it more them, or the line or the coach? How many linemen regressed last season. Mike Williams in the doghouse. Goodwin... 1 catch (and he was a healthy scratch on many occassions.) I'm so glad Marrone quit.
