My in laws are from Cleveland and they have a signed Chris Palmer Browns football in their basement (ironically, half deflated). I always laugh at thAt-- there was a lot of hope when he was hired as HC when the team returned in 99. Kelly the Dog
Long career, a lot of successes and a lot of the Peter Principle where he didn't do well above his level. Not a good head coach, but a ton of experience. First OC job was for Doug Flutie and Hershel Walker, was WR coach with Houston when they had all those great players, hired by Parcells twice, hired and fired a lot as OC. Probably decent as a sounding board. Doubt it will amount to much. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Palmer_%28American_football%

Lurker
Interesting hire...he appears to be a QB guru: https://www.scoutingacademy.com/ "Palmer has spent a career developing Quarterbacks and he has aided in the development of players like Drew Bledsoe, Tony Romo, and Eli Manning. Palmer was also the quarterback coach for the New York Giants from 2007-09 earning a victory in Super Bowl XLII." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000319371/article/zach-mettenberger-to-begin-throwing-by-next-week-trainer-says "In a couple of weeks, Mettenberger will head to Test Football Academy in Martinsville, N.J., to train with former NFL coach Chris Palmer." thewildrabbit
This could be a similar situation to the Dallas offense with both a run game coordinator and a pass game coordinator. I'm not overly thrilled with the QB coach David Lee considering how badly Geno played last season. So perhaps this hire was to ensure EJ gets better development. Didn't the Bills hire a new O line coach? I see Pat Morris still listed on the Bills website.

DukeyBomb
Didn't the Bills hire a new O line coach? I see Pat Morris still listed on the Bills website. Pat Morris is not a bad O-Line coach. I was listening to Joe Buscaglia talk on WGR one day and he made a good point. What is Doug Marrone "known" for? o-line coaching. Every time we've seen Doug Marrone coaching the Bills we would see and watch him be hands one with the line. Every time. Are you going to tell me that that wouldn't demean Pat Morris? It certainly would, and I agree with Joe B. Edited January 26, 2015 by DukeyBomb
cale
They're finally getting coaches on this team to develop QBs. I like Palmer as long as he doesn't go above his pay grade. He is a great QB tutor but not much else.C
