Gugny
Decided that I'm going to surprise my son by bringing him to this show: http://www.songkick.com/concerts/28789909-whitechapel-at-irving-plaza You can't beat the price and it's an excuse to do an overnighter in the city. I think I'm gonna spring for the VIP seats so we can be away from the pit.

Whitechapel and Cattle are very heavy, Goatwhore is super Satanic, don't know the other two. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9NmLsWM700 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mgNLE4GHvk&index=11&list=PL4wJ4gBUiZNkbcM9Ay8zf3c1s28hL7L51
Buffalo Barbarian
Found this old School Doom band called Trouble from 79, sounds like the slow parts of Black Sabbath and early 80s metal, really good stuff wish I knew about them back then and they are still around. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EApXhO0Tx-

My son was introduced to Acid Bath by a friend (I'd never heard of them) and their early stuff, in my opinion, was actually very good. He has a couple White Chapel albums, but he loves Sammy Duet, which is what made me decide to take him. Should be an experience.

Love Trouble - Eric Wagner has vocals like no other. Bastards Will Pay and At the End of My Daze are 2 of my favorites from back in the day. Yeah - I know what you mean - I can look back at some stuff I didn't get into much back then but really love now and wonder how I could have such a hole in my knowledge - Down was like that for me - never listened to them much and now I play their old stuff all the time and wonder why I wasn't into them back then. We just didn't have access back then, these young whippersnappers don't know how lucky they have it!! (where's my old man emogi lol) Down is good just listened to them the other day. Ever heard of Crowbar, they are one of the original Sludge Metal bands? Their Singer is also in Down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjC_BsMl9ec

Yep - Crowbar is another band I really like but sort of passed me by back in the day but I now listen to their old and new stuff. Kirk just left Down to focus on Crowbar. Good heavy NOLA sludge... This is older, but they've got a lot of cool stuff. Yep - Crowbar is another band I really like but sort of passed me by back in the day but I now listen to their old and new stuff. Buffalo86
I think Danzig stole a bit of a riff from Ozzy's Believer for Dirty Black Summer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmrIIWzyfUI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxYP_HImgu4 Bodies (Zeppelin's How Many More Times) had to be the most blatant ripoff on that album. Buffalo Barbarian
Bodies (Zeppelin's How Many More Times) had to be the most blatant ripoff on that album. havent' heard it, never really got into Zeppelin, they were a great band but not heavy enough for me. you mean bodies from Drowning Pool ? I just listened to how many more times and it is nothing like Drowning Pool's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04F4xlWSFh0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpJDOXxuSLo just don't see it
