MMQB - Good Bills stuff this week

Mike Schopp pretty much declared the Bills would be the worst team in the NFL based on the preseason.

Not Bills related, but watch the JJ Watt one question interview. There is a reason Houston is also 2-0. That is going to be a tough one in a few weeks.

Is the answer "What is Fitzmagic?" Alex?

He also pretty much declared Chicago the best team in the league in the preseason.

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to him and Bulldog being forced to do more backpedaling than the entire Bills secondary, 2 Sundays in a row now. After the Bears lost to us, he had to recant, then, Chicago beats SF? Schopp/Bulldog need to realize: there are at least 100 people on this board alone that know NFL football better than they do, and write about it better as well. We could do their jobs, but they couldn't do ours..

Backpedal? More like pretend he never said such a thing...two weeks in a row! He declared Miami god's gift to football too. So is he giving the Chargers the Schopp tongue bath this week?

Not about the Bills, but this made me chuckle:

Ray Lewis talking about Ray Rice...

"‘There is no comparison of me and Ray Rice,’ Lewis told Kolber. ‘It is night and day.’ That just might be the nicest thing anyone said about Rice this week.”"

Unfortunately, if you are superstitious, perhaps this is what needs to happen? Perhaps we should start an email campaign: "Dear Mike Schopp/Bulldog, please consider washing the balls of every Bills opponent this season during the week, and then totally denying you ever said anything good about their team, or bad about EJ/Hakett/Dareus/Losing Byrd, or, especially, Pretending the Bills #1 next year ever had a real chance of actually getting us a better QB than EJ/Watkins wasn't worth the trade(after he goes 8/117/1TD)...in the post game"

What's the O/U on which month Bulldog will admit that the 1(one) #1 draft pick we gave away for Watkins was a good move/was never going to net us a franchise QB? I'm setting it at next February.

But he still ranks Patriots #5. He can't help himself.

Purely a reputation rank. The Patriots lost to a Dolphins team that the Bills destroyed and beat a Vikings team with Cassel at QB and no Adrian Peterson. Not impressed. <_<

"People put too much emphasis on the preseason."

Also in SI.com, Don Banks offers this:

If Buffalo keeps getting Manuel to take care of the football and find his playmakers like he did against the Dolphins (16-of-26 for 202 yards with one touchdown), the Bills’ horrible preseason showing will soon look like an elaborate hoax designed to lull the rest of the league into a false sense of security.

i feel compelled to point out that their wins have come against washington with a dreadful looking griffin, and then against oakland. they then play the giants. they may be 3-0 when we meet them, but our schedule will have been undisputedly harder.

I think King reads this board:

All those who thought Ryan Fitzpatrick would have a passer rating 39 points higher than Tom Brady after two games, raise your hands.

Yes that is way he is - streaky. He can go games where he looks like a probowl QB and then look like a UFL washout.

Nothing against Fitzy but he has played two of the worst teams in the league so far.

It's week 2. Hard to know who are the two worst teams in the league so far.

If we're guessing, Oakland seems probable to be in the cellar. But the Texans didn't just win, they subjected them to a horrific beat-down that was not as close as the 30-14 score would indicate.

The Redskins - in case you didn't notice, they're 1-1 just like the Seahawks, the 'Niners, the Falcons, the Cowboys, and every single team in the NFC North. They're second to the Pant-hers on point differential and kinda stingy on D. It's not so obvious to me they're gonna be one of the worst teams in the league this year.

As for Fitz, he's doing what he's been asked to do by O'brien so far. Hand off to Arian Foster (Texans are still a run-first team), throw just enough to keep the defense honest, and don't make stupid mistakes. He is helped in this because Andre Johnson is one of those guys who can suck in any football thrown into his general vicinity. The Texans aren't winning on Fitz's hot hand or hot streak, they're winning on stingy D and Arian Foster.

If there were a Bills or Titans game where Fitz threw for <200 yds, it wouldn't be a streak or a win, it woulda been a loss.

And you gotta love a TD pass to JJ Watt!!!!!!!!
