This is not just a consideration for the first game of the 2014 season but is pretty much the true for all of 2013 as well. If you think of franchise QB as a "marriage" between an NFL team and their QB, then Fitz was like a living arrangement with an out clause but Eli and his $20 million against the cap this year and next might be headed to divorce court. He's statistically equivalent to Jim Kelly, and assuming he plays another 5 seasons will finish around 50,000 yards. Add up 2 Super Bowls & you have a Hall of a Fame QB. Drew Brees has an average of 95 while Aaron Rodgers has an average of 101. Those are elite numbers. Eli may make the hall of fame but it probably won't be first ballot.
