The White House said over and over again Monday that Obama will not travel to the border with Mexico despite flying to Texas this week to raise money for Democratic candidates there. It's certainly in part a political decision, one meant to avoid taking ownership of a difficult issue on which the White House would prefer to share blame. But it's also one that will inflame Obama's critics on both the right and left who say the administration has been too passive in response to the thousands of young border-crossers swamping U.S. detention facilities. Any more problems like this and he'd have to give up something like campaigning, golfing, vacationing, or fundraising. You can't expect him to do that. Gang members left graffiti on the walls of the Nogales Border Patrol processing center, which suggested they had ties to the organization. "Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) and Customs and Border Protection Officers (CBPOs), assigned to The Nogales Placement Center (NPC), discovered that 16 unaccompanied alien children (13 El Salvadoran males, two Guatelmalan males and one Honduran male) currently being held at the NPC are members of Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13). The MS-13 gang members admitted to their gang associations following a discovery of graffiti at the NPC. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) were notified," the summary states. The FBI describes MS-13 activity as "perpetuating violence—from assaults to homicides, using firearms, machetes, or blunt objects—to intimidate rival gangs, law enforcement, and the general public. And they form tenuous alliances...and sometimes vicious rivalries...with other criminal groups, depending on their needs at the time." It was reported earlier that these MS-13 gang members, some of whom have admitted to murder and torture in their home countries, are being held for placement inside the United States. "But remember, this is a 'humanitarian crisis.' They are just kids," a source working in the Nogales processing center said in frustrated and sarcastic tone. "They are MS-13 gang members. I look forward to that one rogue photographer who releases a photo of Obama partying while kids with TB and scabies are piled high on prison floors. What would the media have thought if George W. Bush went to Louisiana during Katrina only to avoid New Orleans and the devastation, instead raising campaign cash (at $32,000 a head) at the home of a right-wing filmmaker of violent films that tended to glorify gunplay and to reduce controversies over disaster relief into caricatures of culpable dependents? In short, it would be impossible to dream up a worse mercenary presidential trip — in terms of morally indifferent omission and self-interested commission — at this critical time than what Obama supposedly now intends. Surely, the junket will be canceled out of embarrassment or quietly recalibrated — or perhaps the entire story about the trip is simply an urban legend. B-Man Posted July 9, 2014 Share Posted July 9, 2014 Feds: Pastors not welcome at immigration camps Pastors and churches have been banned from helping the thousands of illegal immigrant children housed in border detention facilities run by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, clergy in Texas and Arizona tell me. “Border Patrol told us pastors and churches are not allowed to visit,” said Kyle Coffin, the pastor of CrossRoads Church in Tucson, Arizona. “It’s pretty heartbreaking that they don’t let anybody in there -- even credentialed pastors.” A public affairs officer for the Border Patrol confirmed that ministers and church groups have been banned from the Nogales Placement Center. “Due to the unique operational and security challenges of the Nogales Placement Center, religious services provided by outside faith leaders are not possible at this time,” the Border Patrol told me in a statement. “However, CBP’s chaplaincy program is supporting the spiritual needs of the minors for the limited time they are at the center.” Coffin and a group of pastors from the Tucson area were hoping to provide spiritual encouragement and friendship to the hundreds of illegal immigrant children housed in a detention center in Nogales. “It’s pretty ugly down there,” he told me. “They’re packed in there like sardines.” Coffin said he was having lunch with four other ministers when they started tossing out ideas – ways their churches might be able to be an encouragement to the children being held. One of the other ministers placed a telephone call to Border Patrol and was turned away. So Coffin decided to make a telephone call, too – and what he was told was startling. “They flat-out said no,” he said. What about just a pastoral visit to encourage the children? “They said no,” he said. What about allowing pastors to pray with the children? “There was an immediate no,” he replied. Tahmooressi writes Obama a letter, the president will spend a day in the life: Mexico and get the guy out of prison. But let's face it: try and one just one person you genuinely know, face to face, who support this man right now. Sure there are dolts like gatorman and birddog online, face to face? We are watching Democrats and RINOs in Washington surrender this country to a group of illegal aliens who want to bleed us dry. Every day, hundreds of illegal aliens enter this country with the deliberate goal of getting apprehended by border patrol agents. Why? Because these illegals know that if they can get detained and follow the scripts given to them by their smugglers, they can get amnesty. They can get released and put on a Greyhound bus to anywhere they want in the country. The fact that we are catching these people illegally entering the country and just letting them go is absolutely LUDICROUS! The United States of America is being invaded by literally hundreds of thousands of unskilled illegal aliens who want nothing more than for the American people to subsidize their existence. And to top it all off, there are hundreds of gang members slipping through among the women and children seeking “asylum.” We know that these teenagers are in gangs because we can tell by their gang tattoos and criminal histories. However, the Obama administration is just letting them in! It is important to note, however, that when the Democrats talk about “immigration reform,” they aren’t talking about immigration from Europe and Asia… The Democrats just want to give amnesty to Hispanics from Central and South American because with every illegal alien crossing the border, the Democrats see a future liberal voter. This is absolutely shameful! I want to take the time to tell you the story of Bryan Price and Oleksandra Bronova. Bryan Price is a U.S. Marine veteran who married his wife Oleksandra, a Ukrainian national. The two are legally married, however after violence broke out in Ukraine this past spring, the two fled the violence and relocated to Mexico. Oleksandra Bronova graduated from Cambridge University. She speaks five languages and could be a productive member of whatever country would take her in. She literally had to flee a civil war and hoped that having legitimately married an American, she could immigrate legally to the United States. Seeing everything that was going on at the border, how illegal aliens being let into the country no-questions-asked, Bryan and Oleksandra gathered up their belongings and headed to the nearest border crossing. Upon reaching the crossing, the two handed the border patrol agent their marriage certificate and a binder full of documents proving that Oleksandra was a refugee fleeing her war-torn country. However, unlike the Hispanic children who were being let into the country scot-free, Oleksandra was immediately handcuffed by border patrol and separated from her husband.
