U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has one job: stopping illegal aliens and contraband from entering the country. That's their sole purpose.

News has broke that instead of sending detained illegal aliens back to Mexico or their countries of origin, ICE is now bussing them INTO the United States and just dropping them off in cities like Phoenix and Tucson.

Now just to make sure this is understood… These are illegal aliens who are caught entering the country and instead of being deported on-the-spot, they are being escorted farther into the United States!

What the hell is going on in this country?!

I haven't weighed in with an opinion.

 

I just wanted better sources than a rabble rousing letter. Given that this was your thread, and your assertion, I don't feel it's at all improper to ask you for them.

 

Not at all. I missed the fact that he didn't put any sources down. I do know that he is pretty reliable. I've heard reports of some of this in the last two days.

As the release of undocumented immigrants from Central America at the Greyhound Lines Inc. bus station in Phoenix continued into a second week, dozens of community volunteers such as Whitmore have mobilized a grassroots effort to provide humanitarian assistance.

 

Most of the migrants, who were apprehended in Texas, are not staying in Arizona. After being dropped off at the bus station, they board buses for other cities across the country.

Local News: 'Go to America with child, you won't be turned away'...

 

McALLEN - Central Americans say news reports in their countries are encouraging them to make the journey north to the United States.

 

 

A mother and child told CHANNEL 5 NEWS that the message being disseminated in their country is, "go to America with your child, you won't be turned away."

 

 

The woman, Nora Griselda Bercian Diaz, from Guatemala, said she endured threats from the Zetas and extortion from corrupt Mexican police. She eventually crossed the Rio Grande with her 6-year-old Delmi Griselda Paul Bercian by her side.

 

 

The woman said she wants a U.S. education for her daughter.

 

 

A CHANNEL 5 NEWS crew met the mother and daughter three hours after they crossed the border illegally. They were lost and searching for Border Patrol agents.

 

 

"I was planning to go to McAllen then call a friend for her to send me money on the bus," Bercian Diaz said.

 

 

Bercian Diaz said she has no family in the United States. Her hope of staying here relies on her little girl. She said the message in her country is that America's borders are open to all families.

Editorial: The international crisis of unaccompanied migrant children at U.S. border

 

President Barack Obama on Monday ordered the federal government to respond to the massive numbers of unaccompanied children trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally, calling it an “urgent humanitarian crisis.”

Indeed, it is. An urgent, international humanitarian crisis.

 

Thousands of children and babies, alone or with their mothers, are swarming into the U.S. along Texas’ Rio Grande Valley. Many of them are coming from Central America, so many the U.S. doesn’t know what to do with them all.

 

This is just part of the picture, however. The rest includes thousands, maybe millions more people south of the border trying to escape desperation and death. In a very real way, the people fleeing Central America are war refugees. While there’s no formal conflict, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador are some of the most violent places on earth. Honduras has the highest homicide rate in the world, according to the United Nations. Gangs, many populated by gangsters deported from California, and drug cartels increasingly make this one of the world’s most dangerous regions.

 

Of course, that’s been true for some time and doesn’t explain a sudden surge – from 13,625 in 2012 to 24,668 last year – in children traveling north on their own. Homeland Security officials expect 90,000 unaccompanied minors to be detained by border patrol this year, maybe more. And those are just the kids caught; it doesn’t include the many stranded alone in Mexico’s dangerous border towns.

The president’s order isn’t a solution at all, just a half-measure to deal with the immediate crisis. Without a clear, smart policy from the U.S. and without pressure from the international community on countries from which the immigrants are fleeing, it will get worse. More families and children on their own will leave their homes for a long, dangerous journey during which they will be prey to human traffickers, criminals, disease and injury.

 

Where are the international aid groups, such as World Vision and Amnesty International? Where is the United Nations? Where are Angelina Jolie and other celebrities who advocate for endangered children worldwide?

 

Sadly, it’s hard for many of the champions of children to recognize a humanitarian crisis when it happens this close to home.

Welcome to Barack Obama's America. The only thing missing from this story is Barry, Reid and Pelosi holding signs at the border saying "Federal Assistance This Way" and "Voter Registration Forms That Way."

 

Maybe instead of going to the border they could just start a twitter campaign?

Its !@#$ing embrassing that we have now gone from 2000- 2014, with two sitting Presidents and got ZIP done on immigration. Both said they would be something done, neither have accomplished anything. Hard to have much faith in the Federal Government these days.

The American people will not allow for anything approaching amnesty until border security is assured. Obama has no desire to solve any immigration issues. He likes having immigration as an issue to bash his opposition. Meanwhile, he's busing/flying people caught at the Texas border to cities well within our borders.

Heck you can go back to '86 or so when after amnesty we were going to secure the border.

its funny, it seems ludicrous that securing the border isn't a bipartisan no brainer. Building a gigantic government sponsored wall seems like the Conservative fit of keeping illegals out (upholding the law), and would be a huge jobs program for the unemployed in Texas, AZ, CALI, NM, which he Democrats would get all hot in the ass for.

 

Just another example of where incremental progress coudl be used to achieve a desired end goal. But then again, what the !@#$ do I know?

The problem isn't securing the border so much as dealing with the illegals already here. And no one's willing to budge on the "amnesty" issue. Even a true compromise - a fast-track path to citizenship for long-term illegal residents - is seen as unfair by both sides of the aisle - Republicans don't want to absolve everyone of illegal acts, even though the complete inability to deport that many people is a de facto absolution. And Democrats don't want to "discriminate" against long-term residents by so much as implying their residency is illegal.

 

Both sides of the aisle are retarded. The most practical solution is probably to deport Congress.

Last week, instead of sending these illegal aliens back to their country of origin, Barack Obama and Eric Holder announced that the Federal government would be providing lawyers to these criminals at the taxpayers' expense. The White House says the illegals, most of whom are children, deserve fair legal representation.

What is there to argue? These people crossed into our country illegally and were caught doing so. The law says they must be deported. What the hell do they need a lawyer for, other than to try to find a loophole in the law so they can stay in the country?!

"We’re taking a historic step to strengthen our justice system and protect the rights of the most vulnerable members of society,” Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement announcing the new program.

What on earth is he talking about? First of all, these people are not part of our society. They are illegally entering our country with the intent of draining our resources and government programs. Second of all, they are not the vulnerable ones here… The vulnerable ones are those who are currently unemployed or under-employed. What do you think will happen when 230,000 illegals enter the United States in the next two years? Do you really think unemployment will go down when there are more cheap laborers? Of course not!

Those are the Department of Justice's statistics, not mine. They are admitting that a quarter of a million illegals will enter the country in the next year or two, and they are doing NOTHING to stop it! They are laying out the welcome mat and giving these illegals attorneys to fight the law!

Now pay attention, because this is important. Not only is the Obama administration refusing to deport these illegal alien criminals, but now they have actually assigned lawyers to help them apply for legal status.

It doesn't get more lawless than that! President Obama is simply doing what he wants, completely shredding the law and the constitution in the process. He has a duty under the United States Constitution to "faithfully execute" the law. Does anyone really think that giving these illegals attorneys is within the scope or spirit of the law???

This lawlessness must be stopped! Congress has the power to compel the President to uphold the law and it must do so! The President doesn't have the authority to spend one cent unless Congress gives him permission. While impeachment would be justified, Congress can be equally as compelling just by cutting off the Obama administration's funding for certain projects until the border is secured!

There are rumors of local sheriffs creating posses of armed civilians to enforce the laws along the Southern Border that the Obama administration completely ignores. It shouldn't have to come to this!

Hey you border patrol agents! Stop taking pictures of those kids and leaking out how badly the WH is botching this...or else!

 

"Due to the recent unauthorized use of a personally owned electronic device in the Nogales Processing Center, the use of such devices will be restricted to locations outside of detention areas," Lawson wrote in a June 6 memo to all employees at the Nogales station.

 

"Effective immediately, the use of personally owned cellular phones, cameras, or recording devices in the Nogales Detention Facility and the Nogales Processing Center is strictly prohibited. All personnel working or visiting detention facilities at the Nogales Station will be required to turn off these electronic devices and store them in a locker other secure location prior to entering the detention area."

 

According to sources, agents have been threatened with firings if found to have leaked the photos to media.

 

"They are looking to fire any agents involved," one source said anonymously for fear of losing their job.\

 

"Apparently they are so ticked over these photos that they are going to fire the person that leaked them," another source said.

When was the last time you visited Mexico or East LA for that matter? Give us bullet points with regard to why having Mexico part of the US is a good thing. We'll wait.
