One draft snaring a 3rd stringer on a mediocre passing team and an UDFA pot head who washed out of his program who fell out of the draft and we are now so deep as to talk about trading a WR? A week ago, we had SJ and a boatload of sh-t, and now we should trade someone? Excuse me while I beat my head against the wall.... :wallbash:

The Bills will not have roster spots for all their current receivers. If you could get trade value out of a guy, and if he's not part of your long-term plan anyway, why not pull the trigger?

However, there are two obstacles to adopting the OP's suggestion:

1) Most or all of the WRs the Bills will get rid of have zero trade value.

2) The Bills don't necessarily know which guys they should keep and which they should let go.

The Bills' front office seems high on Easley. Pre-draft, they sounded like they were planning on easing him into the starting lineup. I don't see them trading him away, because they probably think more highly of him than any other team's front office. Brad Smith is grossly overpaid, so he's more of a candidate for a salary cap cut than a trade.

The OP's scenario is unlikely to happen, and probably wouldn't happen even if I was the one running the Bills' front office. But it's worthwhile to consider ideas like this--to think each one through--so that eventually you'll stumble across a good idea or two.

The consensus seems to be that Easley, Smith and Graham have little or nor value.. My guess is if that is true they don't survive training camp.

Actually I think the consensus was this thread is ridiculously premature.

I don't think they will cut Graham. He was the 69th pick in last years draft, and they moved up to get him. He has potential and I don't see them giving up on him that early. He would have to be awful for that to happen, which I do not foresee.

Graham, Smith, Easley ?- Would any of these guys have value? It seems like we have more than we can get reps in camp for.

Premature ejection.

Maybe a somebody or two busts a ganube in training camp. We could end up light in the WR department (again). Plus the scheme(s) the O will play this year are unknown. Maybe they want to have more wideouts than normal. Having no FB opens up a spot - and I hope that's not used for a KO specialist.

Time will tell.

Is that the consensus in your bathroom? Word is that Easley is finally right and he looks great. TJ Graham showed flashes in his rookie year. You're nuts if you think they'd jettison him a year after they picked him (ahead of Russell W.)

It's just not going to happen my friend.

the Bills probably keep 6 WR's leaving Kaufman and maybe one other for PS..Smith / Easley fight for spot #6 w/ Smith most likely to win due to veteran presence and exp.

How about we keep them, and try to have a good wr core? We don't need to trade anyone we have cap room. Right now until proven otherwise the only legit wr we have is Stevie Johnson. I like the potential of Woods, and Da'Rick Rogers as much as the next guy, but it's mostly a bunch of "maybe, but" types behind SJ13

I agree. Lets find out who our top guys are first! I still think Goodwin is going to be good! From highlights and stuff looks like he has some good hands, and his speed is going to help him. Buffalo looks like they might have a shot at the playoffs, if EJ or Kolb works good at QB.

I don't know about Easley because he hasn't played a full year yet (I Think) but Smith and TJ look pretty good! Im liked what I saw in mini camp ( the one the just happened two weeks ago I think)

Trading one now would be extremely foolish. Coming into the draft we had one decent WR in Stevie, and that's it. Graham still has a lot to prove, including showing that he can hang onto the ball when it's thrown his way. Way too early to be breaking up a corps that may prove to be a rare position of strength.

None of them have ANY trade value right now until they show that they can play at the NFL level - and then you want to keep them.
