Bills article from Grantland.com. whatever that is

Recommended Posts

are you saying, "whatever grantland is"????? and you consider yourself a sports fan?

when he was hanging out with the bills mafia, he only referred to people as their "@name" twitter tag...i guess it was very weird that he did that haah, especially since he knew their actual names

Grantland is Bill Simmons' offshoot from espn.com.

I'm really surprised, like Mr. Mann, that not everybody here knows it.

GREAT article!

I've always wondered how much the black community as a whole, cares about the Bills, and I got my answer there. The minorities I know are Dolphins, etc. fans, but I didn't know if it was just me.

If you judged the Bills' fanbase by going to PPP, it would seem that all we have is old, angry, white guys. :nana: But the Bills fanbase is very diverse. And Grantland, IMO, is the best non-porn website going.

I really hope it's diverse. I totally agree with you on Grantland!

grantland and bill simmons both rule......nice offspring of espn.com with Bill Barnwell "NFL guru" and insight to TV/movies/music with several other writers.

The podcasts, esp. BS report, Jalen Rose, & Jacoby Reality TV, are great as well. Help get me through long drives.

I kept waiting for it to end. I think that is by far the longest article I've ever read on Grantland. (Well except for anything by Simmons, which are never-ending). They usually try to keep it basically "one page" I think.

Pretty damn good article..long ~but worth the read...Written from a diferent perspective than most articles on Buffalo and The Bills covering a LOT of topics...

Sorry But I just cant get past how gay "Bills Mafia" is. I mean Zubaz are great because we know how cheesy and lame they are-They cant be taken seriously , and that is why we celebrate them and it is what makes them so great. Bills Mafia on the other hand is actually serious about itself-which is what makes it so freaking lame! Being "just a Bills fan" really is good enough.

I think I may buy me some of them Zubaz though!

I agree but I can't knock fans for being fans. Much cooler than Fireman Ed though.

My wife told me the same thing last night!

Now that's funny! :worthy:

Glad to see some other Grantland fans, It's a must read every day for me. Love Barnwell, the best football writer going IMO. The pop culture stuff is really good too. Mostly top notch writers...Barnwell, Gladwell, Klosterman, Simmons, all very good.

Every time I read an article like this it just reminds me of how much I'd love to move home. I'm sure a lot of people on this board are in a similar situation. Went to college and moved away for career opportunities elsewhere. When you're younger, it's an exciting and fun adventure. You feel you're doing the right thing, etc... But as I get older I really question whether or not it it's worth it. I still don't know what the answer it but wrestle with it frequently. I sincerely hope that the renaissance people speak of really takes hold and gives some of Buffalos Prodigal Sons an easier decision to move back home and make Buffalo a permanent home again.

Wait...this is a football board, sorry for the sappy post!!

Awesome. Hope that's me soon and hope that's lots of fellow Buffalonians that have moved away.
