Kyle Williams fined $15K for hit on Brady

Recommended Posts

I actually have to agree. As a rule, I wouldn't want to see the team play this way. 95% of the time, I want to see good sportsmanship and so on. HOWEVER, given how Brady gets special protection by the NFL and given how he has literally humiliated this team over-and-over-and-over again, I have no qualms about taking some shots. However, I wouldn't wait until late. I'd do it 1st series -- make him scared for his !@#$ing life. Make him think every time he drops back he's going to get decked whether he's holding the ball or not -- take a few 15 yarders for the sole purpose of shaking him up. It will likely put us behind a touchdown early, but he won't be the same player after that.

I meant late as in after the throw. Not late in the game. But yeah, agree.

I have not been able to bring myself to watch the replay of the game yet..but from what I think i saw..i cann see where the fine comes in. It did seem like Brady was still in the pocket, and KW hit him below the knee...i really do not have a problem with the fine.

Cant speak to the Fitz hit, I did not see it

Since Carson Palmer's injury years ago the league has been emphatic that you can't hit a QB who is in the pocket below the knees. Williams knows this yet he still hit Brady below the knees. As such he should get fined.

This was no cheap shot like when Vince Wilfork went after JP Losman's leg.

The hit was completely unintentional, and a borderline call at best.

But a $15,000 fine? That is a boat load of crap!

The point of the rule is to avoid having to determine intent. The rule is very specific and known to all players; hit a QB below the knees while he is in the pocket and it's a penalty and almost certainly a fine.

If the commish can fine Belicheck $50k for touching an official's arm then $15k for hitting a QB in the knee is a deal and a half.

FYI, Wilfork's deliberate elbow to Losman's leg was only worth 12,500. http://articles.boston.com/2007-09-28/sports/29229300_1_patriots-nose-losman-vince-wilfork

Care to explain then why there was no flag and/or fine then for the exact same hit on Fitz a mere quarter earlier? KWs fine and flag were nothing but complete patsy*-loving bull **** by the NFL.

no comparison at all. Grabbing a ref is Taboo and Major deal. Kyles penalty is fair ,his fine is ridicurous and extreme. guy is a clean player all day.

Not a repeat offender.

Now that is horse-****. There was no intent to injure. It was a penalty but not one that should draw a fine. Fack this league and their love for New England. Where is the fine for the guy that tried to take off Chndler's head. Total BS.

Next time KW should just put his elbow out like Wilfork did if he is going to have to pay a fine anyways...

Yeah but with inflation how much was it worth...lol

Talk about some bullsh@%...Kyle Williams has been fined $15k for his hit on Brady:

http://www.buffaloru...d-tom-brady-hit

"The NFL does not announce weekly fines until Friday, so it will be interesting to see if Patriots inside linebacker Brandon Spikes is hit with a fine for a vicious hit while blocking on an interception return that put tight end Scott Chandler out of the game. Chandler is 6'7", friends; you have to try pretty hard - and leave your feet, in Spikes' case - to get a shoulder into Chandler's chin. If Williams' hit was fine-worthy, then Spikes' was worth a lot more money." I agree with this 100%

Those arm tackles are rough

they should fine Wilfork 50K for hitting Jones too hard.

You mean the Cunningham hit in the 2nd? The replay I saw showed Fitz getting hit in the quad/hamstring area. It looked bad because Fitz fell backwards.

Bogus call refs. BRING BACK THE REPLACEMENTS. At least they are honest about who their favorite teams were!

OBD should send in the clip of Fitz getting hit below the knee and one of the Chandler hit that wasn't called.

I Totally Disagree!!! :flirt:
