Honey Badger kicked off of LSU team

He can only play right away if he plays at a lower level of college ball....any big time program he will have to sit a year..

I don't see him making it a year on the street without getting locked up. -Not being bigoted or anything, but the odds are against him running into high-character people while he's on his sofa getting high. I truly hope he tries to get into a good FCS program like App state, or Richmond.

Poor kid. -Hang tough Tyrann.

And McNeese State has reached out to the Honey Badger.

Honey Badger would've been the #3 pick in the draft this year if he was eligible. He was defensive player of the year at age 19. He can instantly be a pro-bowl starter year #1. No chance he slips to the second round or mid-20s like people are saying.

Just watch, he "gets it together" over the next year and goes top 5.

Wooooow! While I'm not surprised, and think the marijuana laws are ridiculous, this is pretty big news. Will have a pretty big impact on how the SEC shakes out this year. I wonder if we're going to see the start of the SEC downswing soon...

Say what??

Every draft expert I've heard, has him pegged as a late round pick, because he has no real position and is undersized. Drafting someone that high who will basically be a return specialist is reminiscent of Desmond Howard or Rocket Ismail. I doubt they would have been picked as high as they were if the teams had to do it over again.

yea thats a bit much. i dont think he would have been top 5 before this, yet alone after.

hes not that great of a cover corner, and hes terribly undersized. he has good ball skills and makes a lot of highlight reel plays, but he isnt a guy that is likely to be an island on the outside.

Hmmm… Adam "Pacman" Jones was undersized too. Pacman, like Honey Badger was intercepting passes, defending passes, forcing and recovering fumbles, and returning kicks and punts for TDs. Both players are extremely quick, fast, and explosive.

I'm not a big college football fan but it seems like they have lots in common including bad judgement.

Anyways, Pacman was drafted 6th overall.

Not sure what you mean by a "late-round pick."

John Clayton interviews a NFL GM who said he wouldn't even draft him. Pacman was a shutdown CB in college. Honey Badger is just an exceptional athlete. Could a team with a great D plug him in at FS and let him do his thing, probably but he ain't playing CB in the NFL.

Late round is probably a huuuuge exaggeration.

That said at 5'9 and I'd guess closer to 165 than 175 he's an inch shorter and 10 lbs lighter (atleast) compared to the already undersized pacman.

He's going to struggle mightily against bigger, stronger nfl receivers. I think you would have seen him mid-late first before this, now likely deep into the second if I had to guess.

Honey badger is in rehab and not playing this year - thats a twist i didnt expect. good for him. if he has a problem (which it seems he does if hes risking all the opportunities he has) than that is bigger than football. glad to hear hes going to try to get himself right instead of just get film any way he can and go pro.

The size part doesn't scare me too much because corners have traditionally been a bit on the shorter side. McGee is only 5'9" too.

I don't know how big Finnegan is, but that's who he reminds me of. Tough, physical guy not afraid to get into guys faces.

has nothing to do with height but weight. McGee outweighs Tyrann by almost 30 lbs. Finnegan almost by 15 lbs
