So it's been 11 years ssince Andre Reed retired. He's been referred to as "Future Hall of Famer" since the mid 90's. Here we are many years later and he still isn't in.

My thoughts: Andre was one of the best receivers of his era, but he will always be over-shadowed by Jerry Rice. There were also a few other terrific receivers in the same timeframe; some with better stats. I think if the Bills had won SB XXV and XXVIII, he would already be in.

Not just Jerry Rice, Andre was overshadowed by Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas & Bruce Smith. Andre should be in the Hall of Fame.

Someday he will be in. In his era he was truly one of the best. Every year now he is a finalist. There's a very good reason for that.

Some also think someday Steve Tasker will get in as the first special teamer ever in the HOF. That's probably a long ways off though.

I'm very underwhelmed by this year's potential class, lots of good names there, but very few great. I would only put Haley and (I guess) Parcells above Andre, and then there is a pretty big gap. So, I think this is his year.

I think Parcells is a shoo-in. Brown has better stats than Andre, but given a choice between the 3 receivers on the ballet this year, Andre Reed is the guy I would want on my team. The only guy from his era that I would have taken over Reed is Jerry Rice.

I really hope he gets in this year. I agree with Rico, beyond Parcells, Charles Hailey, and maybe Willie Roaf, there aren't many guys on that list (from my time- can't really comment on 50's & 60's players) that I would say absolutely belong in the HOF any more than Andre Reed.

Have we already forgotten how great Curtis Martin was? Great runner, tough, great receiver. First ballot, in my opinion.

To be honest, I think everyone on the list belongs in the Hall except maybe Kevin Greene and Cortez Kennedy. It always amazes me how tough it is to get into the Footbaal Hall, yet with any of the other sports it seems like every fringe hall of famer is in.

Andre's been a finalist the last two years though Carter and Brown have better stats for the most part than Andre.

I see Parcells, Martin, and Haley getting in this year. Hope Andre breaks in too.

Don't want to see DeBartolo in, and there are enough Stealers in already to suit my taste.

I'd have to go back and look, but I don't remember Curtis Martin being close to the best running back in any given year, seems to me there were always several others who were better. Very good player, but great, I'm not sure about that. Edited by Rico
