If there's one thing I trust on the Bill's, it's our medical staff. He tweeted the otehr day that he just finished a 7 mile run on the beach. Sounds to me like his Achilles is fine. Yup, and all the barefoot MMA training has got to be good for it as well. I say he suffers a season ending injury in Week 2. I have actually had the conversation with my friends- what is the % chance that Merriman plays in 16 games this season and is productive. It may start slowly but as the season progresses I think he will be out to prove something and will be out to terrorize offenses. Shawne Merriman was given what Gailey called "a rest day" on Friday, but he didn't practice again on Saturday. Gailey said things changed a little, "He didn't feel well this morning. He was a sorer than we thought he was going to be, so we left him out one more day. But he did finish practice and showed no signs of being hurt that I saw, and I was watching the line/linebacker contact drills most of the time.
