Southern accent or no, Nix is pretty likable. He may turn out to be OK w/regard to drafting personnel.

I've met some pretty smart folks with drawls but Nix doesn't strike me as one of them. Gailey however was impressive..loved how he handled the question about disappointment to fans over lack of big name(paraphrasing)"there have been a lot of successful 6th and 7th round draft choices. What matters is what you do with the opportunity"-smart, honest and effective. Didn't see the whole thing. Did anyone ask him if he got assurances against meddling by rw? That's probably the most important question they could ask.

I guess I haven't already decided this was a bad move and now looking for any crumb to back up my negativity. We get it. You hate it. You have two choices. Leave or stick around and see how it turns out. But reading the endless repetitive whining is boring. And if you are referring to the southern accents as "proof" then you are just a fool.

PTR

Let me start by saying the following, RESPECTFULLY:

18-14 over all record.....Not impressive.

2 years and ran out of the NFL....Not impressive.

I'm stating the obvious. I do not hate the move, because it could be much worse. Southern accents being called in as "proof" that its a bad hire...again, really? Just an obvious and boring prediciton..respectfully, you're awful at reading people. I hope you're not in sales man.

Leave or stick around...? Wow you couldnt be more in the middle. Which makes you incredibly boring.

ps....dont waste your time responding, I almost couldnt get through the last three sentences you sent back without nodding off.

He basically said player personnel would be discussed between himself and buddy but buddy would have the last say. In turn, RW will have the last say on what buddy wants. Not saying that's the case or buddy wont petition his picks but RW likes to meddle like the rest of the mystery mobile.

Other "hilights" for those who missed it

Ralph Wilson - "It pleases me that I'm paying less to my coaching staff than I am for my proctologist"

RW - "you guys think I'm made of money??? the price of beef consume went up 8 cent a can you know.."

Buddy Nix "I caught a 60 pound catfish dangnammit..you think this managing thing scares the bejebus outta me..."

BN - "Ebnebody wanted this coaching job I had HS coaches calling me, the coach of Maine, CFL assitant coaches,Jim Tressel...it was a long list"

RW (in response to a question from a female reporter "excuse me mam but who is your escort?? I'll only address him"

Do you think this is funny?

as to the second point, he did take over an aging dallas team on the downside of their run. no one would have a great record with that in mind, but he did manage to make the playoffs

At least the negativity is realistic. I guess you're a fan of pointless optimism?

No, I am a fan of the Buffalo Bills. That does not mean I agree with everything they do, and certainly does not mean I am happy about the decline of the team over the past 10 years. It does mean that I am at least willing to reserve judgment until we have a staff in place, we go through the initial free agency period and the draft, and just maybe, until they play an actual game 9 months from now. If I did not feel that way, I would cease to be interested in the Bills and probably the NFL as a whole. Believe it or not, there have been worse times to be a Bills fan.

Name them

1968 - 1972 records from 1&12 to a best of 4&9; Joe Collier, Harvey Johnson, John Rausch as coaches

1976, 77 2&12, 3&13 Jim Ringo

1982 - 1986 4&5 (strike), 8&8, 2&14 (twice) 4&12 Kay Stephenson, Hank Bullogh

The brief respites from pain in all these years were the glory days of OJ in the early 70's and the return of Chuck Knox in the late 70's. He finally broke the string of 20 straight defeats to the Dolphins in 1980.

Marv Levy was hired in 1987.

That should bring you up to date.
