  1. Everyone's favorite practice squad WR got into an altercation before the 7/16 game between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Toronto Argonauts.
  2. With WR's dropping like flies and Sanders still a little banged up, maybe the Bills should consider signing Duke Williams. I first thought about bringing back John Brown but considering all the teams that have let him go, he may not have anything left. Williams is a another big target who knows the offence and could help us out down near the goal line. For those who don't agree, then if the Bills are forced because of Covid cases to sign a WR who would you suggest?
  3. Its starting to feel like this guy is Fred Jackson 2.0. They were both similar ages when they stuck in the NFL... they both have elite size and enough speed for their position and are crafty. They both came from alternative lower leagues... They both posted huge games in their first year. Both high character guys. I'm rooting for this guy. I think it's going to be a FIERCE battle between him and Hodges. I think that Houston game gave him alot of confidence and also a big chip on his shoulder.
  4. Remember this one? Did anyone else just completely forget we even had Zay Jones on our team this year? Quite a few dismissed Williams as a joke in favor of Jones, the "proven" NFL commodity. Well, to those people, you can argue that Zay had more receptions and more yards than D'haquille did. So here's the question: who has the better NFL career from here on out, Duke or Zay?
  5. I was thinking recently who Duke Williams reminds me of and the conclusion I came up is Anquan Boldin. Im thinking if he could lose about 10-15 pounds and not lose his strength he would be close in physical stature and style of play. He is how they compare: Anquan Boldin 40 yard dash time: 4.71 4.73 seconds Height: 6′ 1″ Weight: 216 pounds Vertical: 33.5 inches Broad Jump: N/A Hand Size: 9.88" ARM LENGTH 30.00" DUKE WILLIAMS 40-yard dash: 4.66 and 4.69 seconds Height: 6′ 2″ Weight: 229 pounds Vertical: 30 1/2 inches Broad Jump: 9 feet, 10 inches Hand Size: 9.25" ARM LENGTH 32.5 " Draft Profile: Big frame and usually plays to his size. Will post up cornerbacks down the field and uses his body to shield throws from defenders. Natural pass catcher with soft hands. Saw 82 percent of his catches go for first downs in 2014. At his best in longer developing, intermediate routes. Does solid job of setting up routes with leverage points and head fakes. Makes downfield catches with well-timed hands to consistently pluck throws at the high point and will lay out to make the tough catch. Can grind out an extra couple of yards after the catch in order to get the first down. Has the size to help run game as a blocker if his care factor is right. As I stated above if Duke works on his body and craft in the off-season he may have a chance to increase his playing time next year
  6. I know I know, another Duke thread but I am PISSED that most people seem to think Duke dropped this TD pass when he didn't. The DB had his left arm hooked, not allowing him to make the catch (which is illegal and pass interference by rule) and yet he STILL almost made it. You simply can't EXPECT a receiver to be able to make that grab and ESPECIALLY can't count it as a freaking drop. I don't want this false narrative floating around and wanted to provide the evidence BUT CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE. Can someone on here who as the game recorded and cares enough about the truth to set the record straight. Duke made some amazing catches for a guy running scout team most of the season. He would make an amazing #3 receiver and deserves much more respect than he is getting from many misinformed fans. PLEASE HELP SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT! (mods please dont merge or delete this. Its important for the overall fan perception of a guy who led our team in targets for a reason. It would be a damn shame for this misconception that he has questionable hands to live amongst our fans)
  7. This is pretty wild. Duke goes from the inactive list to playing more snaps than our #2 receiver. What a bizarre game plan.
  8. Bills offense scored 14, 9 (Left at the end of the 3rd down 14-9 to Miami with injury), 13, and 6. Let's hear why it wasn't his fault. Maybe it was Josh Allen's fault? Yeah he had a hundred on 12 targets vs the Jets, but with Barkley. He caught 50% of his targets, not good. I'll hang up and listen.
  9. https://theathletic.com/1498047/2019/12/31/bills-all-22-review-why-the-film-shows-duke-williams-should-be-active-in-the-playoffs-and-2-young-defenders-show-potential?source=shared-article 1. Why Duke Williams should be active vs. the Texans over Robert Foster Immediately following Duke Williams’ six-catch, 108-yard game against the Jets, I was hesitant to think the Bills would change course at wide receiver. They aren’t prone to impulsive decisions from only one week of evidence, and Robert Foster has turned into a significant contributor on special-teams coverage units. However, after digging into the film (...) the Bills should make Williams active over Foster. (...)Foster [has] always been lacking is in the overall deception of his routes. There is no doubting the player’s speed, and that element of his game is the reason the Bills have continued to go back to him. However, in non-deep ball situations, there is little opportunity for effectiveness with a varying route tree. The cornerback can easily decipher what Foster is doing with his footwork and body language (..) Williams (...) made a handful of mistakes against the Jets (two drops, running a route short, whiffing on a run blocking opportunity), what he provided as a route runner and playmaker far outweighed them. Williams isn’t the quickest of receivers, though he makes up for it with his footwork. He gives his quarterbacks a throwing window by deceiving the cornerback at the top of his route. The double-move Williams ran at the end of the game to get him open for a 41-yard gain is something we haven’t seen from Foster the entire season. (...) He can make difficult plays in the tough areas of the field that require physicality that neither Foster nor Isaiah McKenzie has shown a consistent ability to do. Williams also delivered a helmet-twisting block (...) At this point, Williams is a better offensive threat than Foster, and the Bills should adjust accordingly. Williams is not the best on special teams, and it’s part of the reason why he was inactive from Week 8 through Week 16. However, either Taron Johnson or Kevin Johnson can fill in capably for Foster as the primary punt gunner. It would allow the Bills to implement a two-pronged attack with their third receiver, using the different skill sets of Williams and McKenzie to keep the Texans on their toes. 10. I know why he is not playing. Dabol Alabama. William's Auburn. So there you have it.
  11. Any mentions in media or by the coaching staff why Duke Williams isn’t on the 53 msn roster?
  12. Does anyone else think Duke needs to be on the active roster this Sunday. I'm thinking the Broncos are going to double John Brown with Chris Harris and one of the safetys and if this happens where going to need more then McKenzie & Roberts on the outside. I would love to see Foster go off but im not gonna put my money on it. Im still lost on why Roberts is getting more playing time at WR then Foster and why Duke is on the bench.
  13. Always happy with the win. Passing game looked solid and another fantastic game by Brown. Beasley came through on those underneath routes that he always seems to be open on. Might be the best the passing offense has looked all year, so I'm not throwing a rock here. Duke Williams was a healthy scratch again today. Has anyone heard anything out of the coaches about this situation? Just wondering why Duke hasn't gotten back onto the field after a couple of solid outings this year? I thought with the way he played that he had worked himself onto the starting offense. Could they be focusing more on special teams play and Duke is just on the short end of the stick?
  14. Only got to follow our game through Game Center and red zone today and on GC it said duke Williams was injured on his 20+ yard catch and then “rolled out of bounds” and walked off on his own. Anyway how bad did it look? Anything to be concerned about? He only had one catch today but it was another big one on our go ahead td drive so I’d hate to lose him
  15. This is a great piece for those who don't know a lot about Dukes backstory, pedigree, and potential. Might help some understand why some of us were so high on Duke from the get go.
  16. https://www.forbes.com/sites/curtisrush/2019/10/07/duke-williams-may-be-the-answer-to-buffalo-bills-stagnant-passing-attack/#6163bbed47b7 Lots of history there and he seems to know the Buffalo fandom with comments that the WRs are called Smurfs. Duke Williams May Be The Answer To Buffalo Bills’ Stagnant Passing Attack Duke "The Answer" Williams? Pretty good and I think not used before.
  17. Got to thinking about this after the game There were a lot of for's and against on Duke Williams prior to his game today (and yes its one game...just throwing that out there) I wonder just how much of the "against" came from fears of the experiment with Kelvin.......they are both big physical guys....they are both not burners To me this just goes to show you how you really cannot stereo type players I think back to all the times Kelvin had a ball right there to make a play.....and how many times he just didnt make it....I feel like if you gave Duke those same opportunities he WOULD make most of them because he simply catches the ball Thoughts?
  18. Just to get this outta the way, with the 3 deep ball INTS all basically uncontested, is it Duke Williams time? Zay Jones does not know how, or even when, to fight for the ball. Gutsy game by the Bills, no reason to hang their heads.
  19. He’s at it again, get this guy on the active roster already! I see plenty of separation as he just beat Tre on this play and he may have the best hands over anyone on the roster right now.
  20. Per Matthew Fairburn. No link, but it's all over twitter
  21. ...and I just don't think he clears wavers. 2 TDs and 6 catches in the last couple games. Both TDs of him high pointing the ball. And anyone notice he was getting some pretty significant #1 reps tonight? I think after Brown and Beasley there's a lot of wiggle room. Zay simply shouldn't be guaranteed the roster spot that I think he is. Neither should Roberts for that matter... McKenzie has played himself onto the roster and can return. I still think Foster is close to a lock and the coaching staff is playing long game mind games with him. So almost guaranteed we keep 6 WRs on the active roster. Add a 7th to keep D'haquille???
  22. With our TE injury situation seems like we might need some recieving TE help at least until Kroft and others get healthy. Duke has the size of a TE and skillset of a WR so it might be a good fit. He had a good game against the second team unit tonight vs Carolina but in all likelihood he won't make our team as a WR. I personally liked what I saw from him and thought he was one of our backup TE's when he caught that TD. I hope we can keep his size and skillset that he brings to our team that we might be missing without him on the roster. Go Bills!
