  1. I know this is a week old, but I couldn't find it with the search box. This is awesome.

  3. What if NP still started games 2 and 3? A number of posters have said that NP has gotten a raw deal and needs another chance to shine. You think NP may have lit it up against both the Chargers and Vikes?
  4. After Josh Allen struggled against the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at New Era Field, some experts said the Buffalo Bills should pull the reins back a bit with the rookie gunslinger and turn to Nathan Peterman at quarterback to start the season. Former NFL executive and Ringer podcast host Michael Lombardi said that's "ridiculous." "To me the most ridiculous thing I ever heard is they should play Peterman because the line's not good," Lombardi said on Monday's episode of the "GM Street" podcast. "But the line isn't gonna be good for him either. ... Is the line gonna get any better because Nate Peterman's playing? The line stinks, it doesn't matter who plays quarterback. https://articles.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2018/08/michael_lombardi_ridiculous_to_play_nate_peterman_line_stinks_start_josh_allen.amp He has a point.
  5. Just win baby, just win.... https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/11/01/nathan-peterman-im-ready-to-go-win-a-game/ I really hope the third time is the charm for him.
  6. ...the bartender says “What can I get you fellas?” Derek Anderson says “I’ll have a Mind Eraser”. The bartender makes one and DA sips it and passes out. Matt Barkley says “I’ll have a shot and a beer”. The bartender serves him and Barkley drinks it and looks confused. Nate Peterman says “Bartender....I’ll have a.......” (fill in the blank/end joke)

  8. I get that there's a "Start Allen Week 1" thread that this will probably get merged with, if it's not already in there---->>> Sorry if it's already been posted, but I looked through the first 4 pages to see if this article was a thread already and I figure this article is worthy of its own thread and discussion... so for those of us who don't want to even open a 20 page discussion, here's an opportunity to take a quick look at a really thoughtful breakdown of why Allen starts this year... not necessarily week 1, but definitely in 2018: https://www.cover1.net/four-reasons-josh-allen-starts-in-2018/ with some tidbits... Reason 1: A serious lack of nuanced route runners (WR’s) You’re probably thinking to yourself, “what does this even mean, Nate?” Well, the fact of the matter is the Bills don’t boast a phenomenal group of athletes at the wide receiver position. For that reason, you might think it would be crazy to throw a rookie quarterback out there with the lackluster weapons currently sitting on the offensive side of the ball, but hear me out. What we have seen time and time again on film is a willingness from Allen to make highly contested throws. Doesn’t matter if he’s throwing across his body or believing in his receiver to make a play on the ball in heavy coverage, Allen showed he had the arm strength and guts to put the ball in places former Bills quarterbacks never dreamed of forcing it. and Reason 2: Problems on the offensive line This could go both ways, but I’m putting this factor in favor of the rookie. After departures of Richie Incognito and Eric Wood, the offensive line is set to be a work in progress in 2018. The additions of Russell Bodine and Marshal Newhouse haven’t exactly inspired much hope for a unit that looked overmatched at times in 2017. With the idea that they might take a step back again this season, whoever ends up at quarterback will likely spend a lot of time on the ground. On the field, outside of having to create something from nothing, the one thing Allen showed a lot on film was an innate ability to dodge would-be tacklers from inside the pocket. The impressive part on a lot of occasions for Allen was his ability to stretch the ball vertically with a muddy pocket using his incredible arm strength. and Reason 3: Simple offensive terminology One of the great things about the Erhardt-Perkins system that makes it so quarterback friendly is the complexity of the language. One of the biggest leaps a young quarterback has to make from college to the pros is figuring out the terminology of the offense. The problem for young guys is not only do they have to memorize the terminology; they have to be able to spit it out quick, clear and concise. Memories of Jared Goff on Hard Knocks having issues calling plays in the huddle go to show you just how difficult the jump from vanilla, dumbed down terminology in college to damn near dissertations in the NFL. But as it concerns Josh Allen and the Bills, the Erhardt-Perkins offense that Brian Daboll is rooted in is best known for its simple language. and Reason 4: Ability This is the reason that will become most apparent to fans in July. He’ll be able to make plays but more specifically throws that neither AJ McCarron nor Nathan Peterman will be capable of making. Click the link because there are plenty of great gifs that align with these arguments and an offensive play design for Reason #3 that's interesting, too. I can't believe the 180 I've done since we drafted Allen. Before we drafted him, I thought if we drafted him, McCarron had a better chance to be our long term Franchise QB if we actually drafted him. Now that we've drafted him and I've been inundating myself with as much as I could with Allen's personal and football background, I think he's the odds on favorite to be the starter Week #1... and the reasons above are a few of the reasons I've had in my mind.
  9. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.buffalorumblings.com/platform/amp/2018/6/27/17484226/all-22-analysis-buffalo-bills-quarterback-nathan-peterman-kelvin-benjamin-charles-clay Beginning "For this all-22 look, we’ll cut right to the chase. Nathan Peterman has shown some good things along with some bad things. His low volume of game tape (52 pass attempts) makes statistical evaluations exceedingly difficult, so we won’t even try. No one should be selling a definitive “Book of Peterman,” as his trajectory is unknown at this point. What follows are simply notes on the Ghost of Peterman past. Should he elect to undergo Ebenezer Scrooge-like self-evaluation and correction, the Ghost of Peterman future should be a much nicer picture. Because quarterbacks are special, we have a limited edition format for this dive." Click the link for All-22 Analysis of 7 Plays End "Skeptics will likely continue to cringe at the sheer number of things he needs to work on, which is a valid take. Petermaniacs can hang their hat (or ripped muscle shirt) on the fact that repetition should lead to improvements in all of his weak areas. This is also a valid take. More than anyone else in the position group, Peterman exemplifies Schrödinger’s QB."
  10. 2018 NFL record projections: Will Patriots falter on road to Super Bowl LIII? It's time to dig into those playbooks and hit the ice baths. NFL training camps begin opening this week as veterans for the Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears officially report for duty. Summer vacation ends for the league's other 30 teams next week. It won't be long after that until injuries begin to mount, holdouts potentially simmer and flare and other manners of controversy surface. But based on what I know (or think I know) as we embark on the NFL's 99th season, here's my annual prediction of how the season will unfold with record projections for each team based on picking all 256 games, plus a playoff forecast. AFC EAST New England Patriots (11-5): Helps when you can count on five or six wins in divisional play. Despite the turnover on offense and Julian Edelman's suspension, hard to believe they won't still cruise to a first-round bye. At minimum. Miami Dolphins (7-9): Coach Adam Gase says Ryan Tannehill learned a lot by watching while injured in 2017. We'll see. This team looks significantly different on both sides of the ball, which probably means consistent inconsistency. New York Jets (4-12): They may struggle to replicate last year's surprising total of five wins. But with young talent like Sam Darnold and Jamal Adams, it appears a strong foundation is finally forming. Buffalo Bills (3-13): They stole several games in 2017 on the way to a feel-good wild-card ride. But the O-line is decimated, the quarterback room in upheaval and a dark cloud looms over Shady McCoy. Maybe rookie Josh Allen provides promising glimpses of the future, but don't expect many.
  11. Respect to Nate, he manned up and said he messed up by not including Tre on his top 10 2nd year player list, showing him a ton of respect in the process. Tip my hat to any man that can admit his mistakes. Some further context- Also Tre called out Nate on the Andrew Siciliano interview which I can't find and was already posted on here.
  12. I don't know. But this comment is nuts, and exactly the type of stuff that we need to take out of politics and society: https://buffalonews.com/news/local/government-and-politics/nygop-calls-mcmurray-unhinged-for-suggesting-trump-is-child-trafficker/article_5144f2bc-0f19-11eb-9e48-97fdfd591d46.html#tracking-source=home-trending Discuss.
  13. I assume this may be discussed sometime this week. Let's use this thread to discuss his performance today.
  14. You have to wonder if these ANALysts actually do any homework. We had a QB who refused to throw the ball down the field. Refused. I was a Tyrod supporter too. We lead the league in 3 and outs and take zero chances to move the sticks. The old “statistics are for losers” crowd use their cherry picked Tyrod stats to shows how he takes care of the ball. Yep. Whooptee do. We are stagnant and helping to kill our defense because we punt punt punt. It’s Peterman time. Play the game. Throw the damn ball down the field!
  15. So what kind of offense do we expect from him this week/performance? I think he helps our offense personally and I am not a Peterman advocate. Hbu? Btw anyone who says great another Peterman thread I will shoot lol
  16. More proof Peterman has been impressing behind the scenes, this move WILL pay dividends on both sides of the football..... http://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2017/11/why_micah_hyde_calls_buffalo_bills_rookie_qb_nathan_peterman_nate_favre.html

  18. https://youtube.com/watch?v=NXibjvq9LyE&feature=youtu.be&a= I turned the game off at the end of the 3rd quarter so I hadn’t see Peterman’s passes. I came away from this video very impressed. I know, I know. It’s garbage time, some of the Saints backups were on the field, they didn’t game plan for Peterman, etc. Say what you will, he makes good quick decisions and he is mostly accurate. His first drive would have kept going if Benjamin doesn’t drop the ball on 3rd down or if Dennison remembers you can pass the ball on 4th and short. His 2nd drive is an impressive looking TD drive where even the incompletion to Thompson shows promise (good pre-snap read and a quick throw that he just misses with Thompson getting mugged). I think Tyrod goes to a different team next season that is willing to design an offense around his skill set. If this is the offense we are going to run, Peterman seems to fit it better. If the pass game looks bad against the Chargers I don’t see any reason he shouldn’t get a shot.
  19. He is now out of concussion protocol. I imagine there are no plans to start him versus the Patriots, but he'll probably be the back up.
  20. Just listening to this post-game show right now and wow gotta these guys are so much better than Schopp & The Bulldog. Good to have a post-game show that isn't a complete bore like Schopp &Bulldog.
