I still refer to how the Falcons dealt with their Quarterback situation. They got an excellent veteran in Cousins and drafted an above average QB in Pennix. I don't view this as a wasted pick (omg! that pick could have gotten another offensive weapon, or difference maker on defense!). In MHO, is was a wise strategy by Atlanta.
I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm getting tired of the "if Josh goes down we're toast" mentality. Are we just going to give up because our backup sucks? I want competitive players at all positions first string or backup! Stop signing these retread veteran QBs. Invest a mid round draft spot for a above average QB and groom him behind Allen. I don't agree with Beane/McDermott's philosophy in this regard.
My father was pool director at Brookfield country club for years. One of his lifeguards was an all American swimmer from Kenmore East. His father was the Masked Executioner and his good friend was Dominic Dinucci. He tossed me in their backyard pool like I was a flea!
Mine:
Defensive Tackle (nose too)....Tom Sestak, Fred Smerlas, Ted Washington, Ron McDole.
Safety....George Saimes, Henry Jones, Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde
I wish we knew the behind the scenes story on Diggs. The eyeball test seemed to show him as a me first diva. Did he mouth off to Beane or McDermott? We will never get the real story, unless a player breaks the code of silence. At any rate, i am glad we moved on. The receiving group might just be better IMO.
