  1. He was a Jauron pick...From most accounts he's the guy Jauron wanted...In fact there were rumors that Jauron banged the table pretty hard for him if I remember correctly...
  2. Assuming Carrington comes back for at least one more year...You are 100% correct with this statement...
  3. Right...That's pretty much what I meant by "fast enough and real quick to react..." But running a 4.68 is slow for a Safety to run at Indy...Especially one that becomes a 2nd round pick and All Pro...There's really nothing relative about the time itself...It's a slow time for a DB...
  4. He ran slow at Oregon's Pro day...I think it was a 4.68...But he had a groin strain and it was bad enough that it kept him from running at the Combine...He's never been a fast straight line guy...But he's always been fast enough, and real quick to react...
  5. That's the great thing about #9 this year...As long as those 3 QB go in the top 8 the Bills are going to get one from Robinson, Clowney, Watkins, Mack, Matthews, or Lewan...It really seems to be a no-lose spot...
  6. Just watched Wilcots and Evans on NFL Network...Their top 10 mock had Robinson going 2nd, Matthews going 6th, and Lewan going 7th...Which left Kahlil Mack for the Bills at #9...I do think in that scenario the Bills would take Mack...I don't think the Bills want to go Defense at #9...But if all three OT's and Watkins are gone I think they'll be happy to walk away with Mack...
  7. Oh boy...That's not going to go over well...
  8. I'm not sure Sam is going to be able to beat out anybody for PT in the NFL... Check out what Daniel Jeremiah said about Sam and prospects who have bunched sack numbers...He only had a full sack or better in 5 of 14 games last season...He had 3 games with 3 sacks each...That's 78% of his sack total in 3 games, and one of those games was against Arkansas St...To be honest I'm not sure how the kid won co-Defensive player of the year in the SEC...He had 8,5 sacks in 9 SEC games...That's good...But 6 of those 8.5 came in two games (Vandy and SC)...Sam did not record a sack in 5 SEC games, and had only 9 total tackles in those 5 games...He had a total of 28 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, no forced fumbles and 2 passes defended in SEC games...That's not a bad season, but it's really hard for me to believe that no other SEC player outside of C.J. Mosley had a better year Defensively in the SEC...Really hard for me to believe... Sam is going to have a tough time making any NFL Roster if he can't contribute on Special Teams, and at the very least be a legit back-up at DE...He's WAY too slow and stiff in the hips to play OLB, even in a pure 3-4...He can't turn and run...To me it looked like he had two tree-trunks for legs the way he was moving in the Combine drills...I was less than impressed...
  9. Exactly... I think it was a good move by the Bills to leak some of this out a bit...Hopefully this year there will be no question that the Bills offered Byrd a fair deal...And if this is true that have already offered him a deal that is more-than-fair IMHO...
  10. That much we agree on 100%!!!
  11. I usually ignore these "this guy got cut...interested?" threads... But Jackson? Can't see how the Bills will not at least inquire...He's a good player at a need position...
  12. All Bills fans should follow Gilmore's lead and do Yoga... It's a major stress reliever...
  13. Oh...I see what you did there...TE?...Maybe so...
  14. You may have added that last part...but you hit the nail squarely on the head... I mean...I like the Sabres too...but good grief... Fans don't care about what goes on behind the scenes? Bills fans? Seriously? They have to be kidding with that...The more rabid the fan base the more concern with what is going on from the Owner down...And if nothing else this is a pretty rabid fan base...They know better than to make a dumb statement like that...They have fielded several calls about when the analytics department was going to be up and running, yet they don't think Bills fans would care about a potentially HUGE story like this? That just seems strange to me...If anything make your calls and come out with all the info gathered, even if it amounts to nothing...Just do your due diligence...Get Warrow or another news agency on the line to see if they've heard anything like this...It's a potentially big story...Even if the story is that it's completely false and Graham made up the whole thing...I mean...The story said they wanted to fire the trainer that has been there forever on a team that has had (at times) massive injury problems...That's a decent size story right there...Who knows...Maybe I'm wrong... Then again...It's a week before the hockey trade deadline so I would hate for them to take away from the collective 7-8 hours per day of that thrilling conversation...Should the Sabres trade Miller for less than a 2nd round pick? The anxiety of the hockey trade deadline is keeping me up at night...
  15. That would be like every holiday in the history of mankind all rolled into one... Talk about a dream scenario...I'd celebrate for months...
  16. I don't think he looked bad...He looked pretty much exactly how I expected him to...To me he's Sidney Rice only a little taller and a little slower...Sometimes I wonder if they are the same player...
  17. I don't think it's hype at all considering these 3 OT's in comparison to Joeckel and Fisher...Hype only works on the uneducated and unstudied...I think all 3 are better prospects, especially Robinson who I believe will end up being the best player from this Draft and an absolute monster at the NFL level...Matthews and Lewan are closer to the two OT's last year...But Matthews is clearly more polished, and Lewan has better upside...I agree that Lewan needs the most work...But he's got some really, really good film too...and great athletic ability...Lewan's athletic ability and size is absolutely elite for an LT prospect...I think he can easily be as good if not better than Nate Solder...There were plenty of scouts last year saying Joeckel was not even the best O-Lineman on his team...It's Matthews they were referring to...It's not hype on these 3...They are legit prospects and I think it's easy to imagine all three pushing Fisher and Joeckel down a few spots......
  18. Interesting... Still think they should at least touch on it and say that sources told them it was bunk...
  19. Wow...I can't believe Jeremy said that because he's a pretty major follower of this team...I can't see how any Bills fan would not be at least a little interested in this story if it's all true...I think the die-hard fans, like the one's that listen to sports talk radio, would be ultra-interested...I know I'm a bit more fanatical than most Bills fans...To me this is an absolutely HUGE story...Again if in fact it is true...I think it strikes at the heart of what many Bills fans fear most about this organization...That it's permanently mired in the corporate mediocrity created by it's owner years ago...And that it's that mediocrity keeping the Bills from fielding a winning team, and building a culture of excellence...But maybe that's just me...
  20. If I had my choice I would go with Evans as well...Though I'll be fine with Lewan, Matthews, or even Ebron... I agree that Evans is a similar prospect to Alshon Jeffery in that he has great size, wing span, and hands...Like Jeffery, Evans is not a finished product and will need a little work...But once he gets coached up and comfortable you just can't teach what Evans has naturally...And Evans is already pretty good at the one single thing every NFL WR HAS to be able to do...He has the ability to come down with the contested ball in tight coverage...You can't teach that skill, and he's got it going in...I think, like Jeffery, he'll be just fine... I should also point out I've been a HUGE Alshon Jeffery fan since his Freshman year at USC...I was pushing him to the Bills HARD right here on TSW before the 2012 Draft...I would have taken him at #10 overall ahead of Gilmore...Nothing against Gilmore...I just felt that Jeffrey would be a dominant NFL WR in time...Just like he was in College...
  21. If anyone did move into the top 8 my guess would be it's Gilbert... He's going to be the top rated CB, and he's a real solid prospect with good size, speed, athleticism, instincts, etc...IF a team decides they want a potential shut down CB Gilbert could certainly move up a few spots and land in the top 8...
  22. I love how Mayock gets pissed when they spend too much time talking about one prospect, or when they talk too much about non-football issues...It's cool...The guy is old school football through and through...No question he's the best in the business right now...Which shows how hard it is to be right most of the time because Mayock has had his share of missing too...
