  1. While I certainly cannot be considered a big fan of Brandon's...I do feel his actual input is sometimes greatly over exaggerated around here, or maybe misunderstood...I think Brandon is more of a facilitator of poor decisions...Never the guy coming up with anything...just the guy who is easily persuaded to go along with it...If that makes any sense...
  2. Certainly not to face him twice a year...
  3. The more I think about it the more I'm on board with gutting the whole thing...Whaley and all...This team is broken in a real bad way...It reaches to the top and through the Scouting...It's the coaches, and the players...It's badly flawed... The deep rooted problems are sometimes hidden by the mediocrity of the final records each year...Even 6-10 does not seem that bad compared to 4-12...A couple close games away from .500... The key to me is how poorly they have played over the years against good NFL teams...They get to the 6-9 win seasons by generally beating up on average and poor teams...But when they are faced with a challenge they wilt...And this is nothing new... I did a little research...The Bills best seasons over the past 5 years vs. winning teams were 2014 and 2015 when they went 3-5...If you remove the Pats season closer in 2014 when they sat everyone in the 2nd half, and the win vs the Pats and their injured 3rd string QB this year...the Bills have won a grand total of 6...yes 6 games against teams with winning records in the past 5 seasons including 2016...Since the 2012 season the Bills are...sigh...a total of 8-27 (and that includes the 2 Pats wins) when playing teams that finished 9-7 or better, or have a winning record so far this year...Yes...8-27...That's 35 games...three games over 2 full 16 game seasons vs winning teams...And the seasonal average would be worse then 4-12... Something needs to change...You're not getting anywhere by only beating the Sisters Of The Poor and slightly less than poor...And this organization from the top down cannot compete as is... Buh bye...
  4. Agreed... And even if they were to decide to fix the Defense first, would anyone in their right mind leave that up to Rex? Seeing as though he did so well destroying our top 5 Defense already... IMHO Rex and TT have to go...There are no guarantees...There will likely be suffering...But when it's obvious what you're trying to do is not working then you have to try something else...
  5. That false start was huge...Defense after a TD this year has been embarrassing...I was fearing the worst...
  6. Gilmore looking to get paid...
  7. I'll say it again... God hates the Bills...
  8. How terrible would we be without Shady?
  9. He's not an OLB...No matter what Rex thinks...
  10. Ya...Trying to figure out why they even showed up...
  11. And boy was it the right call!
  12. Don't kid yourself...They equally suck...
  13. Interesting how Pitt seems to be getting the push on both sides of the line...Definitely the better prepared poor weather team...There's no question...
  14. That pass was terrible...
  15. Steelers quite obviously are fired up for this one...
  16. I seriously doubt the Bills part ways with Rex...Not matter what I think about the guy, and I'm not a big fan, I think they intend on seeing this through... The deal with Rex is so frustrating to me...I get that cutting ties after two years, spinning the wheels again, is very possibly counter-productive...Especially short-term...At the same time I don't think anyone can assume it's going to get better under Rex either...Rex did not come in here and say that Bills would be decent defensively...He came in here and made comparisons to the 2000 Ravens D!!!...So he gets here...guns blazing...and completely blows up the scheme of a top 5 Defense... In year one we go from the best pass rush D to one of the worst...This past off-season he says now they have his system down and it will be fixed...The pass rush has improved this year, but otherwise it's still a pretty porous D at times...Even though this is Rex's 2nd year it still looks to me that this bunch is better suited to a 4-3 than a 3-4...Of course as long as Rex is here absolutely nothing will change scheme wise... They likely lose Gilmore next year...Not that he's worth top dollar, but it does create a big hole...Lorenzo Alexander, Zach Brown, Corey White, Corbin Bryant, and Douzable are all UFA's in 2017...Losing any of them bare minimum creates depth issues on Defense...The Bills need to build on what they have...A lot...Not subtract...I don't know...Hard to get overly optimistic...Rex has yet to impress with the talent he has...How is he going to do with less?
  17. A 5-11 WR with knee injury history... He'll fit right in...
  18. Agreed...As long as they Draft another QB by the 3rd Round...
  19. I do think Whaley's comments...In a way...Point the finger at Rex and his staff...But I agree with Whaley's take for the most part...Sure the players are to blame...But I really don't think it has a lot to do with the overall talent...The Bills proved in those first 40 minutes they could stand toe to toe with that greatly talented Oakland team and come out ahead...They proved they could hang with Seattle's talent...I think you're over-estimating the talent differential between the teams...The Bills have all the talent they need to win...Except maybe at the QB position of course...You're right about that... The Bills wilt in games at times...But it's a strange wilt...They're 23rd in the league in 2nd Quarter points and 21st in the league in 4th quarter points...This is directly tied to Tyrod of course...I was taking a look at his splits...In the 4th Quarter of games where the Bills are +/- 7 points Tyrod is just terrible...42.1% completions, 2 TD's, 2 INTS, and a woeful 52.7 QB Rating...It's no surprise Tyrod's numbers are real poor in the 2nd and 4th quarters of games...And I think it can be assumed that is tied into coaching as well...Taylor has been excellent in the 1st quarter this year...And pretty good in the 3rd...In those 2 quarters combined this year he's thrown 7 TD's to only 1 INT...His QB rating is over 113 for the 1st Quarter and about 92 for the 3rd...So...When the Bills coaches have the whole week to prepare for the 1st quarter Tyrod is great...When they come out of the half and make adjustments it's good...But when the opponents counter-adjust in the 2nd and 4th he falls apart... The Defense on the other hand has struggled most in the 2nd and 3rd quarters when compared to other NFL teams...They're ranked 21st in 2nd quarter points allowed, and 23rd in 3rd quarter points allowed (at home they are the 3rd worst team in the NFL in points allowed in the 3rd quarter)...The Bills best quarter on D compared to the rest of the league? The 4th...Where they rank 11th in the NFL with an average of 5.5 points allowed...They are right in the middle of the NFL in 1st quarter points allowed ranked 16th (though they are 31st in this category at home...next to worst in the league)... There's really no question when you look at the quarter breakdowns for this team, and Tyrod, that Whaley has a solid point...This team is up and down like a roller coaster on Offense and Defense...There are some REAL inconsistencies...So when he says they need to play well for the full 60 minutes...I think he's dead on...
