Good grief...

I don't know Doc... I do know they would not have won as many if Henson was the only QB in Brady's Sr year...I know that because I saw it... I'm a Michigan fan and I watched the great majority of Brady's games in College...Now...I'm not going to "Polian" this and say I thought he was a 1st round pick... ... But I did feel he was greatly overlooked in the Draft...Brady was pretty clutch in College...And he did hold off the #1 prospect QB in the country because quite frankly he was better...I really felt Brady was clutch...To be perfectly honest I loved him in College...And for the life of me I could not understand why he was being pushed so far down in the Draft...It's not like that was the spread-option QB era...It was still a pocket-passer game...Especially in the NFL...And even though Brady was not flashy he was big, and he got the job done... I figured he would be a 2nd-3rd round pick...I was really hoping the Bills would Draft him...Granted that was as much about me being a Michigan fan as it was about Brady's potential...But still...

Right...The Shady TD was a pretty clear hold...

He has the Bills scoring 20 or more points only 3 times and no more than 21 points in ANY game!!! Wow... I'm assuming he's not much of a TT fan... McCoy, Watkins, Harvin, Woods, Clay, etc...I honestly think this is ridiculous...

Every year I feel there is a game at home that I like to call a "buzz-saw game..." Meaning the opponents are walking int to a buzz-saw...We've all seen it before at home...When the conditions are right the Bills are all-but unbeatable...Even when they may not be the better team... I do think the Colts are walking in to a buzz-saw Sunday...The conditions are right...As far as wins and losses go vs. Luck...getting him at home in Sept is just about the best chance you've got...Plus I think the Bills offense matches up really well with the Colts D...And I do expect TT to have a good game... Bills - 33 Colts - 20

Not if we score too... You're assuming the Colts and Pats defense can stop our offense? I mean...Granted TT has to orchestrate the whole thing... But the Bills really and truly possess some match-up nightmares for both those defenses...And neither one is all that great... Shoot outs? Maybe...if our D does not play up to snuff...But the Pats scored 28 points against a REAL bad Pitt Defense at home that decided not to cover Gronk...I'm thinking the Bills can score 30 on either of these defenses as long as they run the ball well...It's going to open up the passing game...And then they'll have to deal with Sammy, Clay, Bobby, and Harvin...I love the match-up of the Bills offense vs those two defenses...

There are definitely some rather large holes out there tonight...No question...

If Cassel signs with the Texans or whatever team, like he had a good chance to do, I doubt anyone would be claiming WGR nailed it... The truth is the Bills were willing to cut Cassel and take their chances instead of cutting EJ...It was a smart move for a number of reasons...Cap and future...But when Cassel wants to come back for less it's an easy decision...The one thing Roman mentioned about EJ during camp, while praising his overall make-up, was the fact that he had to continue to get a better grasp of the offense...I think that's where the coaches remain with EJ...If they have to choose between EJ or Cassel, and one of them has to be gone, they are going to keep EJ...But if Cassel's presence allows EJ a few more weeks to continue to learn and improve...It's a win/win... No one at WGR...I mean NO ONE predicted Cassel would get cut...Sal reported a few days before it happened that there was internal talks...And some other reports from outside the station got the conversation started in the days leading up to it...But had it not been for these outside reports of the possibility most of the local media would have been completely blindsided by Cassel's release...Heck...even if they knew no one would have figured he would be back...There was no way the Bills could predict how it all fell into place...I think it was funny how Howard and Jeremy were sort of patting themselves on the back about the way it all played out...Though I will say Howard was very complimentary of EJ and his improvement... So...Anyway...GO BILLS!!! GO TT!!!

Please...Don't even try to bring logic into this particular effort to discredit EJ...There's no need...

True...But they sure as heck asked for it based on their actions would you not say? And I'm not even saying I disagree with what they did...Especially concerning the cap dollars saved...But still...It's not like this was good for EJ purely from a "how it looks" standpoint... Good thing they know EJ is a classy guy who is going to put team 1st 100% of the time...

That's all I'm saying...he's human...I don't see any way, based on how things played out and how much EJ obviously improved, he could feel anything other than pretty bitter disappointment...I mean...Go back and listen to everything Roman and Rex said about him during camp...It was fairly clear they were happy with EJ's development...Then all this and he's still #3? If I was EJ I would be begging out of Buffalo at this point...Especially considering the fact that he lost out to Cassel who is absolutely not the future in Buffalo...If I was EJ I would be pretty insulted to be perfectly honest...

I think this is a more than fair assessment of the situation...I really do... But it's not us that the Bills need to convince...And if I'm EJ, I'm pretty much tired of the whole experience with this team...If they can't even commit to him as the #2 then the writing is clearly on the wall...Unless they are selling something amazing to him that I don't know about...I think any human, no matter how good and positive, would be all-but-fed-up if they were put in EJ's shoes...Having Cassel in front of you as the starter would be hard enough...Having him in front of you as the #2 is a clear indication that you are going nowhere in Buffalo...Just my opinion...

Well...In fairness there was something like $4 million in cap money as a reason for that...

I had my 2-QB league Draft yesterday and TT went WAY higher than I thought he would...I had him targeted for my primary back-up...Or QB #3 ...He's on another teams roster as their #2 QB...Which is a starter in my league...I was surprised...

That's all likely true... But if I'm EJ, I'm not buying it...Especially after being dropped to #3 again... If I'm EJ I want out of Buffalo as fast as humanly possible...

Well...Most QB's don't do as well under pressure...Yes the elite one's are better at moving in the pocket to get the pass away...I'll I'll certainly admit EJ has got a bit panicky at times under pressure...I think that's more due to lack of experience than anything...it's growing pains... But I think I saw an improvement with EJ in that area this preseason...Like the TD pass vs. Carolina when he had to step up out of pressure and delivered a 50+ yard strike...He is getting better...I really believe that...The problem is he landed in a city with very little patience when the entire football world warned the Bills he was a developmental prospect...Then he gets a new coaching staff that has no loyalty to him...Pretty much a lose/lose for EJ...But that's just life...

I really doubt EJ is going to see it that way... Yesterday he was the clear cut #2 QB...Now he has to take a backseat to an average vet QB yet again... Oh well...We'll see in time...I was never 100% convinced EJ was a shoe-in to develop into a solid NFL QB...I was however VERY encouraged based on what I saw this year...And I think EJ's upside is sky high...Thing is...It's looking like we're only really going to get the answers on EJ when he is playing for another team... On the plus side EJ will handle this with class like he does everything...But I agree with those who are predicting this does not bode well for his future in Buffalo...Unless of course some really bad things happen and he gets his shot this year...

Interesting development... Not a big fan of this move though... I guess I should just realize this team is going to do everything they can to assure EJ is gone after next year... So be it...I certainly hope TT turns into Russell Wilson 2.0...Then none of it really matters...
