  1. Look at Cleveland making the Bills look like the disciplined team...
  2. Love Adams...Love him for the Bills...But...I think based on the probability the Bills finish at least 8-8...he will be gone by the time they pick... I think at this extra-early point the name to watch for the Bills is Jabrill Peppers...I think he's just enough of a tweener, and moved around so much in College, it may make teams pause a bit allowing him to slide just a little...
  3. True story...I'm actually a little surprised more people fail to understand this...
  4. God I hate LaCanfora...But I have to admit these comment are fascinating to me...I don't trust him at all...But the thing is he certainly could be right about this...I can see how it's possible...Especially how outsiders and more experienced/successful NFL GM's and execs see the Bills situation...Whaley came from a great organization, but it's not like he ever made decisions there...Russ came from what? Baseball? I don't question their individual talents...But we're talking about two of the most powerful voices in this organization...And I certainly can see how someone seemingly more qualified in football team building could think they are a bit out of their element... When I look at Whaley...He has basically built his own scouting department...And our last three Drafts have been...well...OK...Just OK...The key with Whaley...IMHO...will be Cardale...If CJ turns out to be a real good NFL QB then his Draft grade overall skyrockets...if not it's...well...again...just OK...The Sammy trade, in retrospect was a poor decision...No matter how high anyone is on Sammy (and for the record I love Sammy)...IF you're trading up to that spot, which I think was a mistake regardless, Mack should have been the target...And IF you HAVE to have a WR then Evans and Beckham were better options...Whaley has done well to bring talent in through Free Agency...And the Hughes trade was really, really good...But he's obviously not great...The proof is on the field...He's just OK... Russ is a whole different story...For someone who probably has the owners ear more than any other person in the entire organization Russ can't exactly point to much success on the field...Off the field he's a master...But if he's advising the owner on big...HUGE decisions like HC...What successful examples can he possibly exhibit? He wanted to hire Marrone? Anyway...It's fascinating to me...And to be honest I think they all have to go...Every last one of them...I doubt it happens...but I think it should...
  5. Good on paper? We were having this discussion in another thread recently...No offense really...We're all on the same side here...But I swear...Only a Bills fan would take one of the rare good things this franchise has done over the past 16 years and minimize it...Incredible...The Bills actually made it hard to appreciate the nice things... Well...Paper aside...They were good on the field too...Top 5 in a slew of defensive categories including 1st in 3rd down D and sacks...They were also 3rd in points per game, passing D, and takeaways...4th in points per game, and 5th in 1st downs per game...Even their poorer rankings were decent...11th in run D, and 14th in yards per rush... So they were not the 2000 Ravens...They were not perfect...But they were damn good...Especially considering how tough it is to have a great D in this day and age of NFL Offense...And they were light years better than this garbage Rex has managed over the better part of these past 29 games... Anyway...Enjoy the good things...Even celebrate them...They are few and far between with this team...
  6. Yep...A national brand...What is the product? Anthrax?...
  7. This is where it begins and ends with me and Rex...The Defense...It's his baby...He stood up and promised excellence...I'm really not the type to kill a guy for falling a little short...I swear I'm not...But truth is the D has fallen woefully short of anything resembling excellence... I really feel the game has passed Rex's Defense by...I think the final proof is how much Rob's Defenses have struggled on other teams recently with completely different personnel...NFL Offenses have caught up... And if Rex can't bring Defensive excellence, then what good is he really? Fun press conferences? I really think the Bills can do better than Rex Ryan...I think it sucks that we're in this position...This is not a fun time...Even though I was not a fan of the hire I understand how this is a decision no one wanted to have to make after only 2 years...And I can see why some folks want to keep him for continuities sake...But I doubt it gets better from here with that guy...I just don't think that he's good enough anymore...
  8. I'm unsure of the reasons...But the eyeball test certainly backs up your point here...They looked terrible out there at times last Sunday...They certainly did not look like a grizzled cold weather team...
  9. From the fans? If so I would say that statement is the definition over overly optimistic... The tide has turned on Rex in a big, big way...It's obvious...No matter where I go...Here, Twitter, FB...It's really obvious folks are fed up with everything Rex...A couple more wins against the poor and handicapped is not going to change it... Name all the great coaches who tell anyone who will listen they are great coaches and know how to win without a great QB, then keep their jobs when they don't...
  10. I'm in favor of a complete house cleaning...But LaCanfora is the hack of all hacks...He's like the King hack...He sucks...And he's pretty much always had it out for the Bills...Not sure why...
  11. 1- All 2 - Rex 3 - Tyrod 4 - Whaley 5 - Brandon
  12. Good point! Seriously, I never thought of it like that...But it's a great point!
  13. I just wonder if Pegs and the bunch up there are really that naive to be fooled by that potential 9-7...I mean...If they get there, and beat Miami, that's still no better than 2-6 vs teams with winning records this year...And everyone knows that would be 1-7 if Brady played the game at NE...Is there any better way to judge a teams progress towards improvement then how they fare against the better teams in the NFL when they play them head-to-head? 9-7 or not this team is so far away from being a contender...I don't know...I hope they are not that stupid...
  14. Knew you would bring some Murray hate to this thread eventually...
  15. I know folks are beating up on Dareus...for good reason...But technically I have to admit he's more than likely correct...After all the Bills are 5-1 vs teams with losing records this year...And 28-15 vs teams .500 or poorer since 2012...So he's not exactly going out on a limb here...The Bills show up when they are supposed to win...Give them a real challenge and they generally wilt like a gentle flower...But give them a loser and they are pretty darn good...
  16. Nah...She's a better run stopper...
  17. It surprised me at the time... It worries me even more now...
  18. I love all this "close" talk...I've seen it here and there on TWS as well... Close defenses do not give up multiple 200 plus yard rushing games to a single HB...Let alone multiple 200 yard rushing games to a single team... We are NOT close...The Defense is NOT close...Close would be .500 or slightly below vs teams with winning records...Rex and his "close" Defense is 4-11 vs winning teams since coming to Buffalo... We're no where near close...And Rex is a cool dude...He really is...But he's not "close" as a HC or as a defensive guru either... That's closer to being true than the "close" comment...
  19. Not a huge fan... Pass...
  20. Oh I know that...I was just saying if you are talking about the best player...Not the one who played best for the Bills...I think Peters total career puts him up there as the best player to come through Buffalo...I was not talking about his play while he was here...He had barely begun at that point...
  21. Exactly right... 2014 D was solid...It's not like they had to be that good in comparison to Rex's mess over these 29 games...But good grief... OK...They were not the 2000 Ravens...They were not as good as the Seattle Defenses we've seen over the years, or the Broncos last year...But...They were good...1st in sacks, 1st in 3rd down percentage, 3rd in yards per play, passing D, and takeaways, 4th in points per game, and 5th in 1st downs per game...They were also 11th in rushing D, and middle of the pack (14th) in rushing yards per attempt... Not sure why anyone would want to minimize that...Especially in light of what we're seeing on Sundays now under Rex...They may not have been elite...But they were solid...And clearly if Rex had come close to maintaining that level on Defense the Bills would be looking a hell of a lot better now...
  22. I think if your talking about the best player...even though he was only here for a short time...Jason Peters has to be the answer...Peters has legit HOF credentials already...And he'll probably play a few more years at a high level... Shady would be 2nd I think...Followed by Kyle Williams...
  23. I never wanted him...And I definitely don't want him to stay... The truth is he sold himself as a defensive guru...wanted to build a bully-run-first-and-play-light-out-D style of team...And what we have is a bully who gets KTFO in a tough fight WAY too often...Had Rex not come in and talked about this Defense being the next 2000 Ravens maybe...maybe I could give him a little rope...But if you're gonna talk like that you damn well better be able to back it up...And it seems like most of the time Rex's D is the only thing backing up... Good coaches don't go 1-6 vs winning teams with the only win coming against a 3rd string injured QB...That's pretty much something only bad coaches do...Rex is now 4-11 vs teams that finished better than 9-7 last year and have a winning record so far this year combined...4-11... I don't dislike Rex...I actually like a lot of things about his personality and think he appreciates Buffalo and Bills fans...I think he gets us...But I think the game has passed him and his brother by quickly...The system they believe in on Defense is not working anymore...The Bills are not the most talented team defensively, but they have talent on Defense...And in a VERY short period of time Rex has taken a good, solid, NFL Defense and turned it into one that allows yards in huge chunks vs the pass and the run..2 times in 13 games allowing 200 plus yards to a single RB? What the hell is that? The Bills can do better...There are better coaches in this day of NFL football and Rex will be great on The NFL Network...or ESPN...or FOX...Or wherever he goes on TV...I'm not mad...It was a swing and a miss...Time to try again...
  24. Well...Not trying to cherry pick your point...But I'm not sure a 3rd string injured rookie QB can be considered about equal to Tyrod...Even as bad as Tyrod can play at times...The Pats had nothing at QB that day...They literally gave up on that game in the 4th quarter because of it...
