Gruden says a lot of stuff...I like him, but he's very clearly not the be-all, end-all on football knowledge...Or QB's for that matter...He's wrong a lot...He's right a lot... I actually agree with Gruden here...To a point...You can ruin a young QB early...Sure, it's possible...Especially if that young QB is already flawed...You can also develop one by playing him...I think the reality is if they are going to be good, and they get forced in, they'll look good at times...and bad at times...But it will be clear if they can play...If they have the capacity to improve...Or if they just have problems that will plague them their entire NFL careers... I don't think it will be good or bad to see Cardale yet...I think if the Bills put him out there, and he's going to be any good long term, he'll show that potential...I also think he'll struggle some...Like pretty much every single young QB before him...I think it's a mistake to take one or two situations and assume everything thing is the same...The good young QB's struggle early, but show enough to assume they will get better...The poorer ones continue to struggle with their flaws and don't improve when the NFL adjusts...I don't know which type Cardale is...But I do not think having him go in now is going to make a difference one way or the other...Besides the Bills are a run 1st, grind it out and play it safe Offense anyway...It's not like they are going to ask him to be Brady...It's not in the DNA of this team as it is currently built... I also think playing Cardale now will actually be a hell of lot less pressure than pegging him as the starter going in to next season...I think there is a real chance these few games will help him understand the pressures and enable him to deal with them a little better going in to 2017...But there are too many people in that organization right now thinking about surviving 2016...No one on Rex's staff is thinking about what is best for next year...Or what is best for Cardale...At least I don't think so...And granted I could be wrong... The reason Tyrod is starting is because Ryan knows his job is on the line...IMHO it's nothing beyond that...

Well...No surprise here... The Bills have three games left...One against the worst team in the NFL, another vs the Dolphins who won't have their starting QB, and lastly a bottom 5 Jets team... They'll be looking to get to 9-7 so they can sell improvement...They'll be looking for Bills fans to forget the fact that so far this year they are 1-6 vs winning teams...That one win coming vs NE and their injured 3rd string QB...They'll be looking for fans to forget about Taylor choking late in games...They'll be looking for fans to forget about those two games they allowed an opposing HB to gain over 200 yds...Of course knowing Ajayi is coming to town that number could move to 3 times...They'll be hoping fans forget about Rex's predictions of a vastly improve Defense now that they know the system...They'll be counting on Bills fans turning a blind eye to the truth... Here's a 3 game memory wipe Buffalo Fans!!!...Please re-new your season tickets for 2017...

My first thought when I heard those Simms comments (he made them earlier this week as well) was that there is a reason the Bills don't open it up...And Tyrod IS the reason...They already know he can't do...That's why they never tried...

Oh I'm not gullible...And you're probably right... I don't know...It's just something I've always felt from listening to Brandon talk...He's super smart in way, but he always seems to me like the kid who just wants the cool kids to like him...I definitely think he's got an agenda...But I think mainly it's self preservation...Well that and advancement because he's certainly done a hell of a good job at that...
-
While I certainly cannot be considered a big fan of Brandon's...I do feel his actual input is sometimes greatly over exaggerated around here, or maybe misunderstood...I think Brandon is more of a facilitator of poor decisions...Never the guy coming up with anything...just the guy who is easily persuaded to go along with it...If that makes any sense...

The more I think about it the more I'm on board with gutting the whole thing...Whaley and all...This team is broken in a real bad way...It reaches to the top and through the Scouting...It's the coaches, and the players...It's badly flawed... The deep rooted problems are sometimes hidden by the mediocrity of the final records each year...Even 6-10 does not seem that bad compared to 4-12...A couple close games away from .500... The key to me is how poorly they have played over the years against good NFL teams...They get to the 6-9 win seasons by generally beating up on average and poor teams...But when they are faced with a challenge they wilt...And this is nothing new... I did a little research...The Bills best seasons over the past 5 years vs. winning teams were 2014 and 2015 when they went 3-5...If you remove the Pats season closer in 2014 when they sat everyone in the 2nd half, and the win vs the Pats and their injured 3rd string QB this year...the Bills have won a grand total of 6...yes 6 games against teams with winning records in the past 5 seasons including 2016...Since the 2012 season the Bills are...sigh...a total of 8-27 (and that includes the 2 Pats wins) when playing teams that finished 9-7 or better, or have a winning record so far this year...Yes...8-27...That's 35 games...three games over 2 full 16 game seasons vs winning teams...And the seasonal average would be worse then 4-12... Something needs to change...You're not getting anywhere by only beating the Sisters Of The Poor and slightly less than poor...And this organization from the top down cannot compete as is... Buh bye...

We Should Pick Up the Option on Tyrod No Matter What

Agreed... And even if they were to decide to fix the Defense first, would anyone in their right mind leave that up to Rex? Seeing as though he did so well destroying our top 5 Defense already... IMHO Rex and TT have to go...There are no guarantees...There will likely be suffering...But when it's obvious what you're trying to do is not working then you have to try something else... -
Congrats Rex in Bills record Books

That false start was huge...Defense after a TD this year has been embarrassing...I was fearing the worst... -
