  1. Cook is such as asset. Got to bring him back.
  2. Marv Levy had it right in insisting special teams was every bit as important as offense and defense.
  3. Now it's just a matter of keeping the lead. Can the defense hold up its end?
  4. Adjust by benching Hamlin. I mean, the reason he's playing 20 yards behind the nearest Bronco is to stop the big play. He has one job to do, and he can't do it.
  5. Same here. It's like he's being paid by the word with no care about content. I gave him three short chances, and now I'm done.
  6. This defense is overall quite good, in my view, except for safety, with Damar Hamlin possibly one of the worst safeties in recent memory. He's a reliable tackler, but his instincts and speed are so poor that he couldn't start on any other team. Bishop might have also allowed that TD, but at least he would make a play next time. Hamlin will allow another TD, and another.
  7. Where do you get this impression? Honestly interested. I'm detecting no love for the Broncos out there. It's obvious that a lot of media gasbags want an upset, including the ones who likely voted against Allen for MVP. But on the whole, it seems to me the country wants to see the Bills or Ravens in the Super Bowl. Anyone but the Chiefs. Everyone on the planet knows Broncos would just be cannon fodder.
  8. The impulse to whine is powerful, not just because injustice rankles so much (not just in our species, see below) but also because wiser perspectives, such as wisely understanding that the truth will prevail, don't come easily for most of us. FWIW, I've found that complaining, like flame wars, ultimately makes me feel worse than simply shutting up, so I try to shrug off the slings and arrows, for my own sake. I'll get to the wisdom part when I'm (even) older. My public service announcement for today! 😀
  9. I suspect the Browns fans will be pleased with the news. Time to move on from that albatross of a contract.
  10. They did pick their own QB, that's the problem (or the biggest one, anyway).
  11. "This game is what happens when a great story meets a great team." Sometimes Nick Wright earns his pay.
  12. A lot depends on whether Pickens continues to indulge his inner adolescent. If he feels like playing, his connection with Wilson is elite. If they can pull ahead and make "MVP" Lamar throw instead of leaning on Henry, they have a chance. Plus, I believe they just got back a run-stuffing d-lineman. On the other hand, Tomlin's teams rarely do well in the playoffs. Three wins in ten years.
  13. Apologies if this analysis has been posted elsewhere (I didn't see it), but it suggests that Brady is just as much part of the Bills' offensive revival as Allen. We haven't had a true, league-wide innovator since Ted Marchibroda!
  14. Didn't know he was so big (6'3" 325) and not young (30).
  15. The punter. Just joking. No one will ever be as slow as Coleman or as young as Edmunds.
  16. Allen has never been sacked so little, so something has changed on the line. You can see that he has a lot more time this year compared to past years, when, regular as clockwork, Spencer Brown would be beat, Allen would dodge, and the play would commence. Snap, whiff, dodge, look. This year, it's snap, look, look, look, dodge, scramble, throw, or some variation. He seems to trust his protection more, too, unlike two years ago and maybe parts of last year.
  17. I was worried for the Bills the last two times they faced his defense (and I was right to). Let's just hope he doesn't end up in the AFC East.
  18. Except Patrick Mahomes.
  19. One of the key questions for American society over the next decade, or until people don't care anymore.
  20. Am I the only one who is muting the color guy to preserve my sanity? Guy seems to be just saying whatever comes into his head.
  21. Wouldn't it be lovely if luck finally caught up with KC and, after yet another close game, the ball finally bounces against them, or the critical call goes the other way? I'd love to see their faces at that moment. "But, but, but...we're Kansas City! We always win!"
  22. Or "Try it, you'll like it," for the older crowd.
