Bills were passive and playing on their heels most of the game. You'd think if Rex was going to go out he'd go out on his shield.

If the Bills beat the Browns and the Patriots win Monday night vs. the Ravens and next week vs. the Broncos the Bills can't be eliminated next week even if all the other games go against them.

In this alternate time line, if they did land Prescott he'd be running the scout team and not active on Sundays right now. He wouldn't have gotten any play time and you'd still be saying that Whaley hadn't done anything to land a QB. Hell, when he finally got his chance in Buffalo it could have easily gone very differently without the best OL in the league to help him out along with one of the best TE's to ever play the game. Prescott went into the very best situation a rookie could have gone into, the same can't be said if he landed in Buffalo. The situation a player lands in has a lot to do with how he performs.

If they feel he had a large hand in hiring Rex and they want to part ways with Rex after just 2 years I'd have to assume that they'd likely part ways with Whaley too. On the other hand if he had other candidates that he pitched to them and they went in their own direction anyway I can't lay that at Whaley's feet. Posters love to make wide, sweeping, assumptions and criticize Bills' management for those assumptions. Bottom line is we have no idea, even if we want to convince ourselves we do.

This is exactly why Cardale shouldn't start. People think that a guy "had his shot" when he was thrown to the wolves, way before he was ready, and he's forever judged on his play during that time. If Cardale is thrown out there before he's ready people will make up their mind about him even though he should have never seen the field to begin with.

My opinion of whether Whaley should stay or go depends entirely on if he wanted Rex to be the coach. If that was purely the Pegula's choice I think a GM should get a chance to bring in his personnel choice for HC before he gets the axe.

Playing QB is at it's easiest when you have a successful running game that D's have to respect. TT sees stacked boxes every game and can't take advantage of it. What makes anybody think he could be successful without that advantage?
