  1. Cincy has a decent shot at beating Houston and since I think the Titans beat the Texans in week 17 anyway, that's the path I'd rather see. Granted, it would be great if both the Texans and Titans lost but I'd say that's doubtful. Almost happened last week before KC and the Jags choked at the end.
  2. By the end of this year I'd guess that Oakland, KC, and Atlanta are the only playoff teams listed there. That's not that tough of a schedule. What those teams did in 2015 doesn't mean much to me and that's the only way it looks tough. Denver, Carolina and the Bengals are shells of their former selves.
  3. I'll wait to vote until all the information is in. Two games left, let's see how the Bills finish.
  4. I just don't see how it can be set in stone at this point. If the Bills somehow manage to finish 9-7 they're going to fire a HC after two years who has a winning record for an organization that hasn't had such a thing since Wade Phillips coached almost 2 decades ago? I don't even like Rex and I'm disappointed as hell in the D he managed to destroy but the record is the record and firing a coach with a winning record after just two years seems ridiculous. If I were a highly regarded HCing prospect I'd stay way the hell away from Buffalo if that happened. They're supposed to come in, change systems and somehow get the Bills to the playoffs - without a legit NFL starting QB - and if they don't achieve this in 2 seasons they're done even if they have a winning record? Who would take that job? He loses another game and I can see how they can sell it but it still might be a bit much considering the team hasn't had back to back non losing seasons from a single coach since before the turn of the millennium. Lose two more and all bets are off, that's an easy sell with regression in each of the past two years but unless that happens this is all pretty sketchy.
  5. ESPN playoff machine is wrong. Use the NYT playoff simulator. Its correct and much better anyway.
  6. The difference is he has players WILLING to go there. If Romo gets traded he'd love to land in Denver. He'd never agree to go to Buffalo and I don't see the Cowboys moving him somewhere he doesn't want to go. People don't want to hear it but that helps a great deal. It's a cycle, once you become a successful franchise it's easier to get players to come to it.
  7. I saw this coming a mile away. When Lawson was put on the shelf for half the season, missing his rookie training camp I wondered has anybody ever missed significant time in their rookie season, including their rookie camp, and played well when they came back that year? I'm sure it's happened, but it's the outlier, not the norm. I then wondered how long it would take someone to call him a "bust" before he was ever really given a fair shake. Apparently that's 5 games. Who knows how the guy will pan out, perhaps he will end up being a bust but to call him that now is hilarious.
  8. That's not completely right. The Bills don't need the Titans to lose this week, they need either the Titans or Texans to lose. The best chance of that happening is the Bengals beating Houston. IF that happened, the following week the Bills would need the Titans to beat the Texans. Oddly enough, even if all that happens the Bills still need the Patriots to beat the Jets next week as that puts the Bills over the top in terms of strength of victory tiebreakers.
  9. The guy quite on the team. You don't understand the hate?
  10. Nothing says logic like 9 exclamation points. Nicely done.
  11. Saint Doug ready to perform more miracles.
  12. Yep, and then it all went the other way other than the Bills winning.
  13. This is mostly right. Denver doesn't need to lose out though. They need to lose to the Pats and Raiders. The game vs the chiefs doesn't matter.
  14. Nope. That would help but it's not needed. Need either the Jags to beat the Titans or Houston to lose to Cincy. If either happens Bills are still alive.
  15. No one said TD probable, its not official and you know it. Moderator should delete this trash theead
  16. Nope. Bills now need titans or Houston to lose two. Best chance of that is Houston losing to Bengals next week then losing to titans in final game. Bills now need Ravens to lose next week to Steelers then in final week to Bengals. So no mercy... Rooting for Pats to win. Only way Bills get eliminated this week is if Pats lose. Chance of gong to playoffs is remote but I'll root for it to happen until it mathematically can't
  17. Not true, as long as Pats win Bills are alive into next week
  18. The guy is wrong more than he's right. Has nothing to do with what he's saying, it's that his track record is crap.
  19. Rex is most responsible for the team's record this year but if I had to chose someone to go it would be TT because I don't think he is worth the money he'd get if the team picked up his option. He gets that money and it means even less cash to spend on the rest of the team that has to make up for his poor QB play. Holding on to TT effects the team for 3 years while holding on to Rex potentally just ruins one more season. As for Whaley I dont think hes done a bad job but it hasn't been spectacular either. What I really want is a GM with power over the football side of the franchise, including hiring the HC. If they trust Whaley with that then great, if they dont then they need to pick someone they do trust with it. So it would be: 1. TT 2. Rex 3. Whaley As long as the GM Has the final say on the HC, the draft and FA aquisitions I dont care if Brandon stays or goes. If the masses wild speculation about Brandon happens to be right - a big IF - then kick him to the curb. I don't pretend to know so I wont be irrate one way or another.
  20. Not sure what the issue is here. Doctors have told him its up to him whether the foot feels well enough to play on. He says it does. I'm no doctor and even if I was I've never examined Watkins. Who the hell am I to question to advice his doc has given him?
  21. Why the hell is TT on the list and who actually coted for him?
  22. Thats the difference between using valuable resources (draft picks) on a guy that has issues and getting him on the FA market. Im all for giving guys a chance if the contract doesnt eat a lot of cap and they dont cost draft picks.
  23. If every minority coach did this then there would be no minority interviews because they'd all be waiting for each other to go first.
  24. Tennesse doesn't have to lose two of three. Either Tenn or Houston does. If both lose one game before their week 17 matchup one is guaranteed to lose twice. According to the NY Times simulator the Dolphins don't have to lose to the Jets. Losing to the Bills and NE is enough. Another poster, in a different thread went over the tie breakers and his findings seemed to support the Times Simulator over ESPNs Playoff Machine. And I'll say that while any of the things the Bills need to win are plausible it's very improbable that all of them happen. An upset or two will happen that nobody is expecting. That being said I'll be score watching each game just in case. EDIT: Hah, it wasn't even in another thread, the poster laid it out in this thread. EDIT EDIT: and according to the NYT playoff simulator the Broncos don't have to lose all three either. They need to lose to the Patriots and the Raiders. The game against the Chiefs doesn't matter if that happens.
  25. The only person who I've seen that has said anything close to this is you. So I suppose it has been said over and over again. Everybody else has been saying that the rest of the Colts suck. For some reason you see that as an "excuse" instead of a genuine reason. I'm assuming it's because you believe "all you need is a QB." But hey, don't let logic get in the way of a good crusade.
