  1. What is up with people these past few days? Have they confused the stadium wall with PPP? I've seen this type of unwarranted snark at least a dozen times.
  2. It all depends on their board. If there are multiple guys that they like when their pick is up then by all means move back and picks up an addition pick and still get a guy they like. If there are one or two guys they like more than others then just make the pick. If they do trade down, get the picks this year, not next. Whatever they do they're not getting back into the first round next year.
  3. I think it's you who didn't read my post. You're not saying anything I didn't say, you're just doing it with the histrionics, bolt font and all caps of a teenage girl.
  4. I think you're getting caught up in semantics here, as is everyone. The Bills used 3 of their picks to acquire Watkins. That's a fact. They had to divest themselves of three picks to get the kid when usually it only takes one. So if one wants to say they "gave up" 2 picks then I suppose they could since it's 2 more than it usually takes but the bottom line is they needed three picks to land him. I'm not sure why people are arguing this point anyway. Was it too much? Maybe. I'm generally not in favor of giving away picks as I think you take the shotgun approach to the draft (i.e. the more pics you have the more likely you are to hit something) but my line of thinking going into this draft was that sitting pat was a mistake because the QBs weren't going to get taken in mass before the Bills picked at 9. They needed to move up and grab a dynamic player or move back and pick up some picks. They chose the former, let's hope it works out. That being said I love Watkins. He was the guy I coveted in this draft and a guy who can help Manuel develop.
  5. If Manuel and Watkins pan out nobody will care. If one, or both, don't, it won't be good.
  6. No clue why people are comparing Watkins to Spiller. Watkins is a physical WR who doesn't shy away from contact. The guy breaks tackles and uses his hands off the line of scrimmage to beat the press. He's not huge but he's not small - he's 6'1". How does he compare to Spiller exactly? Because he's fast? That's the depth of analysis here?
  7. Ugh, gave up a first rounder next year.
  8. I hope this is Watkins or Mack. Nobody else is worth moving up for Imo.
  9. I hope there's a run on QBs so more quality players slip down to the Bills.
  10. 2014: The year of the Red Queen's Race. I came across this quote while reading "Through the Looking Glass" (which my son is reading as well) and immediately thought of the Bills. "It takes all the running you can do, to remain in the same place."
  11. I think it's: 10001110101
  12. I'm still waiting for Bills' players to be presented with their offensive and defensive rookie of the year awards. After that then Whaley can receive his executive of the year award.
  13. The real Skynet http://www.darpa.mil/Our_Work/TTO/Programs/DARPA_Robotics_Challenge.aspx
  14. This. The days of a "2 down LB" are over or should be. It's a passing league and hoping to take a guy off the field in "obvious passing situations" means he shouldn't be on the field in anything other than short yardage situations because all other downs have become "obvious passing situations."
  15. Fitz is a smart player with experience. He excels at pre-snap reads, breaking down defenses and getting the ball out quickly (usually to the right WR.) His problems were his physical skills and trying to do too much with those limited abilities. How is he not the perfect back up QB to help your young QBs get up to speed? He could help both EJ and Thad. Who says he ever has to see the field? If EJ goes down there's nothing preventing the Bills from using Thad, which is what they have to do now anyway. Personally, I'd love a vet back there helping the young guys out. That being said I doubt it happens, but it would be a good move to get some experience at the QB position whether it's Fitz or someone else.
  16. Exactly. When you know you have a short window you make the moves necessary - even if it means mortgaging the future - to try and win now.
  17. The New England Patriots The Buffalo Bills One of the above teams has earned the benefit of the doubt and one hasn't. I'll let you decide which is which.
  18. After 14 years of futility I don't think it's the "sky is falling gang" that is ridiculous.
  19. Yeah, I too am glad they took the money the would have used on Byrd and signed a quality T and G to start off FA. Oh wait.
  20. So they should have given up more in the trade just to scream "confident in this player!" Uhh, I'm not sure you get quite how this whole thing works.
  21. So then it's better to draft a player and have him struggle for years and then have one solid year than to have a guy produce right out of the gate and want to be paid like one of the best at his positions? This is your philosophy? Well, you're in luck because your favorite team also has that philosophy. People and their rationalizations.
  22. Knowing how the Bills do things my guess is that that leaves them 10 mil. The other 10 mil will sit collecting dust.
  23. They don't have him for 10 years at the bargain basement price they have him for now. They have to prepare for two years from now when they have to sign him to a new, HUGE, mega deal. Unless something happens to his progression in the next two years my guess is it will be the biggest contract in NFL history.
  24. You need a local to show you around. I visited a few years ago and met up with a friend of my brother's who owns a restaurant in the city. As such he knew everybody in the business and we spent the weekend eating some fantastic food. If you ate at bad spots in Boston it's because you didn't know where to go. It's not New York, but it still has fantastic food. Btw, complaining about the cost of a big city is a bit absurd. Of course it's expensive.
  25. I'm not sure Houston is a good comparison. They're the 4th largest city in the US and the 10th largest TV market. My guess is they'd get a significantly larger deal than the Bills would. That being said I'm in full agreement, sell the naming rights for whatever they can get.
