  1. Hey, the Bills just came off a win. Orton is the future at QB and this D can be one of the all time greats. There is no room for any questioning of the team right now, that only can come after a loss. And after a loss his post would be too rational, those posts require the poster to demand players to be cut and coaches to be fired. I do particularly love the posters who resort to calling the OP names because they don't like what he says. Classy.
  2. I'm fairly impressed that the Bills are sitting at 3-2 when 3 of their first 5 were on the road. The next 7 are lined up nicely both due to the teams and the venue. I don't think the Bills are good enough to sweep but 4-3 or perhaps even 5-2 are a definite possibility. It would be more than I had hoped if the Bills are sitting at 8-4 with 4 games left.
  3. It's because offense gets the press. If the Bills had one of the best offenses in the league they'd get respect but because it's the D then they're "lucky" to win.
  4. After Orton's first bad game people will be clamoring for him to be benched or cut and we will hear how he's not fit to be a starting QB in the NFL. If it happens this week vs. the Pats I can only imagine how much anger there will be for the guy...
  5. It's a post on a message board about football. It entertained me, therefore it was useful. If he was a scientist looking for the cure to cancer I'd agree with you.
  6. So because we hate Tate's hypocrisy it means he's not right? It was pretty pathetic that they put a coach on their shoulders just for beating the Lions a regular season game. It wasn't the Super Bowl. Act like you've been there before.
  7. If he could block my grandmother who is coming around the end on a blitz I'm sure he'd get more opportunities on 3rd down. But since grandma just notched a sack on a whiffed blitz pick up , I'm happy the Bills continue to use Freddie.
  8. What game were you watching? For the better part of 3 quarters the Bills offense looked exactly like it did under EJ. Check downs, short passes and an inability to pick up 1st downs. The only accurate pass downfield that Orton made all game was the one to Goodwin (which was a fantastic pass.) People are always too quick to jump down someone's throat and say they suck and too quick to appoint them the savior. The guy is an average - at best - QB and the Bills will win based on the strength of their defense.
  9. I don't think this called for an exclamation point.
  10. Over a decade later and the Bills have done nothing to excite the fans so we're still reduced to arguing over two crappy QBs that couldn't get the job done back in the day. Ugh.
  11. He did have the young QB project drop back 70+ times in the past two weeks against teams with questionable run defenses and the team not needing to go into "abandon the run" mode.
  12. Coaches aren't going to bench a QB who is getting the job done for the next big thing. Coaches care about one thing, winning.
  13. Why do people think Orton is some world beater? The guy hasn't had a starting gig since Tebow beat him out. To expect miracles from him is pretty unfair and the same people that expect these miracles will be the same ones piling on him when he doesn't deliver them. The cycle never ends...
  14. It's interesting to me how a lot of people want to put the majority of the Bills' struggles on EJ yet nobody is concerned with Orton's 8-30something record in his last 40 or so games as a starter. If the majority of the blame goes to EJ for the losses then why are all those losses that Orton piled up as a started not mostly his fault? You can't have it both ways. To top it off people seem to expect Orton to somehow be better after a few years of getting very little actual game experience. Not sure how a lack of playing time makes a player better but I guess we'll find out. I really think for a lot of people it's "anything but EJ." I hope it works out for the Bills and EJ can sit and learn on the sidelines while Orton leads the Bills to the postseason but I have serious doubts that this is going to turn out well.
  15. Says the internet poster hiding behind his computer to a guy who goes out in front of 70,000+ people every Sat and Sun for the past 6 years to lead a team.
  16. I have an idea Sammy, you worry about getting open and CATCHING the ball and let the coaches worry about critiquing the QB position.
  17. The Bills are not starting Orton hoping he improves week to week. The guy is a vet and they expect results. If they're hoping a QB is going to grow into the roll then Orton isn't the guy you start. I do like the excuse train that's already in place for Orton though. After the last two weeks I'm convinced that EJ needs to sit and watch for awhile but I'm not going to have any patience for a vet going in there and not getting the job done. If Orton can't get the job done then Manuel needs to be put back in the lineup. If the team is going to struggle they might as well do it with a young QB learning the ropes.
  18. That aggressive approach has cost and will continue to cost the Jets games. The name of the game is to win, not win pretty. Rex is doing his team a disservice by letting Geno be so careless with the ball. Rex's aggrssion on D works because he has the horses to back it up but needs to put the breaks on the offence if he wants to give his team a better chance to win. Granted, I think the Bills pump those breaks way too much and I'd like to see them be a little more aggressive (like throwing on 1st down half the time) but I don't want EJ carelessly putting the ball up time and time again. There is someplace in the middle I'd like to see. All that being said I'd take Rex over Marrone solely based on the D he brings to the table.
  19. Sure you can, it's called footwork. It's why he was more accurate in weeks one and two and looked horrific last week. It should be no surprise that Manuel looks iffy when he's pressured. He looks nervous back there because he's not processing the field fast enough and he's watching the pass rush. It's called being a young QB. Maybe he never gets better or maybe it all starts to click in week 9. Nobody knows, but to say you can't teach accuracy is a bunch of bunk. To be accurate he has to have solid fundamentals and those can be taught one way: repetition.
  20. So he's aiming for the opposing teams secondary?
  21. Rivers has a rag arm. Let's hope the wind and rain combine to help him throw up some ducks that can be picked off.
  22. EJ is a redshirt rookie.
  23. The Bolts are ranked 31st in yards per rush against at 5.6. That's horrible, even through just two games. Combine that with the fact that the Bills love to run the ball and it doesn't look good for the Bolts D. They're going to have to bring a S up to help which should open some stuff up for Sammy or Goodwin.
