  1. It's really a shame that GMs kept trying to draft high round guys to replace him and Fred had to be second fiddle until the coaching staff finally figured out he was better than the guy they drafted. Had he been a high draft choice and had the EXACT same production as he has nobody would have ever tried to replace him and he would have gotten more carries. The benefit of all this is that because he's split time he's got to extend his career and be productive well beyond when most RBs are.
  2. Can someone explain to me how Brady had a rag for an arm early in his career yet now, at age 37, he throws bullets?
  3. But you'd have to disclose the methodology in order to get the patent. Are you prepared to do that?
  4. I just typed out a long response which was essentially what you said. Given that the average points per turnover is 4 (regardless of field position), I'd imagine the average points given where the Bills got the ball would be higher. Also factor in the 2-3 times the offense got the ball on the Jets side of the 50 because the D forced punts and I'd say the offense was pretty bad for most of the day. They had one nice drive and two big plays. Other than that I can't recall that they did much of note other than not turn the ball over (which shouldn't be overlooked.)
  5. How is this aging poorly?
  6. Fantastic post Simon, you've been missed greatly. Hope you're here to stay. Im guilty of hating on the playcalling and you raise an exellent point about calling plays that the OL is capable of executing but if thats the case Whaley needs to do whatever is necessary to fix this issue asap. Also, this doesnt seem to prevent Hackett from dialing up failed screen passes time and time again. What Id really like to s e from this offense are short 3 step drop, plant, fire. lets get the ball in the WRs hands on first and second down instead of same ol same ol. That doesnt mean they dont run it as often as they throw it but it hat they mix it up with safe passes that arent likely to end in sacks or picks. One of the reasons the run game is failing is because of he lack of throws on 1st and 2nd down. Mix it up and I think everything comes easier.
  7. Is this your model? You seem to be taking it personally when people make a joke or question it.
  8. There was no QB coach last year. Even if there was there is no better mentor than somebody who has done it before. They needed to bring in somebody last year to give a veteran presence in the meeting room, the film room and on the sideline. Everybody on this board seems to have given up on EJ but I think the best thing that has happened to this kid is Kyle Orton. I don't know if EJ will ever be a good QB but being around Orton will make him better.
  9. It's why having 3 QBs on the roster who were all so inexperienced was a big mistake last year. Who exactly were they supposed to learn from? The rookie OC?
  10. According to your scenario that last game in NE could be for the division title depending on the tiebreakers.
  11. Posted at the same, time or else I'd have just given you a +1.
  12. It's not a matter of "too much" it's a matter of predictable. Mix it up. Throw on 1st down some, throw on 2nd down some, run on 3rd and long on occasion. He is the most predictable OC I've seen in a long time. Granted, I do believe that Orton changed of few of those 2nd down play calls into runs but the point still stands.
  13. The entire secondary. They were fantastic and gave the guys up front a chance to get to the QBs.
  14. If they do anything other than run the ball up the middle 3 times Hackett should be fired.
  15. Schwartz has done a hell of a job of adjusting to Vick in the 2nd half.
  16. I don't think so, it will be run, run, run.
  17. On this drive I agree. Go up by three scores. No need to risk a sack/fumble or something stupid.
  18. 13 point lead. Why do I fear being outscored 14-0 in the 4th quarter to lose this game?
  19. Do we ever friggin' throw on 1st down? I mean EVER?!
  20. It all depends if run/run/pass works this time. My guess is we get 3.
  21. If it wasn't for the Jets shooting themselves in the back over and over the Bills would be getting blown out.
  22. That's how you beat the blitz. Just because guys come in running free doesn't mean you eat the sack. Lucky for the Bills there was another Jet penalty.
  23. Yeah, that was my thought as well. You finally pick up some yards on 1st and 2nd down and put yourself in a good down/distance situation and are already in FG range...why drop back into anything more than a 3 step drop? Either run it or 3 step drop it and fire.
