  1. Actually, if he had two sacks we should all be worried about him.
  2. Career stats at FSU (not bad weather) from 40+: 23 of 32 (71.9%). Last year 4/7 from 40-49, 1/3 from 50+. I know people talk about him like a stud, but are these really that great of numbers? I ask because I have no idea. Doesn't seem that impressive.
  3. Better comparison may be Pete Carroll. Sucked as an nfl coach for the pats, perfected his craft in college and dominated for years, then returned to nfl and did very well. Marrone comparison is asinine as he has never dominated at anything. Just took a mediocre college team and made them an average to above average college team. Did the same thing with the bills.
  4. In all fairness, Buddy Nix was caught on tape saying "need a QB this year...bad year to need a QB" or something to that effect when he thought he was talking to an opposing GM or something, so I think even he knew that there were no slam dunks in that year's draft. (see below). In hindsight, maybe it would have been smarter to wait, but I think Buddy knew he was trying to get out so wanted to take a flyer on someone he thought could be the guy. Turns out he was wrong, and maybe the kid will improve, but its gonna take a while and his ceiling drops with every mediocre start. 2013 Drafted QBs NAME POS SCHOOL ROUND PK(OVR) TEAM EJ Manuel QB Florida State 1 16(16) Buffalo Geno Smith QB West Virginia 2 7(39) NY Jets Mike Glennon QB North Carolina State 3 11(73) Tampa Bay Matt Barkley QB USC 4 1(98) Philadelphia Ryan Nassib QB Syracuse 4 13(110) NY Giants Tyler Wilson QB Arkansas 4 15(112) Oakland Landry Jones QB Oklahoma 4 18(115) Pittsburgh Brad Sorensen QB Southern Utah 7 15(221) San Diego Zac Dysert QB Miami (OH) 7 28(234) Denver B.J. 5. Agree with your premise, disagree with your conclusion. I think that this is a new team that needs to find its way, but that by the end of the season, they will definitely be playoff caliber (and hopefully in playoff contention). There is a ton of talent, they just need to learn to gel. Hell McCoy wasn't even around in the preseason and now he's out. Roman's gotta learn how to call plays for this team, not ones he's worked for in the past. Rex needs to know what attitude gives he and his team the best chance to win, regardless of bravado. I don't see all of that taking a full season. The reason I feel this is different, is that when we were clicking (albeit against bad teams), the plays we were executing we on a different level. They were intricate and powerful. And the plays I saw our players make were ones made by stars. Not the ryan fitzpatrick or doug flute scrappy type of plays, but real prime time NFL premium plays, and all types, short and long distance runs, and short, mid and long range passes. They have it all. They just need to learn how to click so that every thing is second nature, and they need to learn how to take on the winner's mentality. Ok, fine that may take a full season, but I think we can get to the playoffs before everything is in perfect place. Cause when it is... SUPERBOWL, BABY!!
  6. Watching the today show this morning at 6:30 AM Chicago time, they cut to the outside shot and my ears are drawn to the crowd where there are a critical mass singing... hey -ey -ey -ey, Let's go buffalo. Love that we are playing in buffalo, yet someone in New York City still took time to denigrate Giants country with our shout song. Well played, bills fans, whoever you may be.
  7. Damn you. It's been so long it wasn't even on my radar. I hope something bad happens to you. Nothing seriously damaging, but like you get a paper cut that stings like a bi+h and you keep having to use purell all day.
  8. . Solid Bills Backers of Chicago plug! Now someone talk about how only an amazing fan base would inspire a bunch of fans in Chicago to start the entertaining and informed Bills and Beers podcast!! (Attention whore) Also, I puke on that article.
  9. Aaaaahhh. Two pages with only one mention of the bills. Oh well, I guess it was inevitable. Is it possible to shut down my own thread? Ok, one last ditch effort to make it about the bills again. Everyone tell me what u think this offseason would have been like with (bills related): A. Jon BonJovi B. Trump Who would have been the coach, what would the front office and roster look like, what media attention would we be getting (would it be bad or good), would you still be a fan? I'll go first A. JBJ would play it cool in the first offseason and promise he was all about buffalo despite his Toronto ties, would hire a knowledgable football czar, who would decide Whaley/Brandon fate. Probably would have either promoted schwarz or ended up with a offensive coordinator as our coach... Media and attention would be positive and there would be a bunch new music events planned at the Ralph not to mention a bunch of celebrity rockers making cameos at training camp. Team would Move in 5-6 years to outrage and lawsuits. I would still be a fan until the move. B. Trump - would wipe the entire front office and most of the offensive roster clean. Would hire an exec type to be GM and football czar. That person in turn Would hire an old school name like shannahan who would come with plenty of baggage but that he could sell to the fan base. Don't think he would be willing to take a chance on a coordinator or someone who was not already famous; This is probably for the best since both he and his football czar can not really evaluate football talent. He would still run for president. Tons of media attention. Mostly negative as he becomes more controversial. Many bills fans would finally have the push they needed to leave the bills forever as they would not be able to recognize the team they once loved. In 5-6 years we would move and people will be mostly happy they are gone. I would not be a fan after one season. Ok. Ur turn.
  10. Why do you say that? do you really think his ownership responsibilities would be able to suppress his ego and prevent him from seeking the highest office in the land if given an opportunity?
  11. Thanks for seeing it that way. It was my intention to keep it bills focused although I recognize that is difficult given the close relation of the subject matter to politics. Anyways, if it gets too political, feel free to shut it down, I will not be offended.
